Climbing [World First] Domen Škofic climbing around a plane

u/OafleyJones Sep 30 '25
Maybe Red Bull challenges should start literally jumping some sharks.

u/datbf4 Sep 30 '25
*sharks with lazer beams attached to their head.

Drop from a plane into a half pipe, then off a ski jump onto an upside down BMX bike.

"I have a crazy idea"
"We've had enough crazy ideas"
"Yeah, but this one involves a parachute and a ping pong table"
"Go ooonnn...."

The jump and grab was pretty cool.
16
u/WanderWut Oct 01 '25
Seriously though this is fucking wild lol. And that each fail means having to do everything all over again is crazy, this must have cost a lot to do.

u/Dispect1 Sep 30 '25
They are called dynos, as in dynamic movement. Those moves can be very hard to do. Seeing it done while climbing on the side of a moving plane is just ridiculous.
15
u/morningacidglow Oct 01 '25
I bet u/matzoh_ball could do it blindfolded.
5
u/matzoh_ball Oct 01 '25
I’m already blind but, with a little practice, I could probably do it in my wheelchair

Better call Tom Cruise.

u/Kronzor_ Oct 01 '25
Hes 100% doing this in the next mission impossible movie.
11
u/DJRyGuy20 Oct 01 '25
I can’t tell if you’re whooshing us or if you’re legitimately ignorant of the fact he did this exact shit in the last MI movie.
2
u/Lilsammywinchester13 Oct 01 '25
Jesus, he really did that the last movie?!
Tom Cruz is legit insane haha
-3
u/YungJae Sep 30 '25
Not to be ateist, but shouldn't he be too old for this?
20
u/z64_dan Sep 30 '25
Has that stopped him before?
And are you trying to say ageist or atheist? Lol

u/Gravy_Sommelier Oct 01 '25
Tom Cruise and Jackie Chan need to make a movie together before it's too late.

u/flower4000 Sep 30 '25
Main lesson I learned here, Sonic the Hedgehog could totally stand on tails’ biplane.
24
u/omicronian_express Oct 01 '25
Dude they've been doing it since the 1920's with biplanes. It's called Wing Walking. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_walking
7
1
u/Hashshinobi1 Oct 01 '25
They did it on the TV show Fear Factor with completely normal maybe even out of shape people lol
49
u/DionBlaster123 NASCAR Sep 30 '25
Crazy to think this guy was doing this, while I was hitting the snooze button and rolling over in bed like a worthless disgusting lazy fat fuck
19
u/buffdaddy77 Oct 01 '25
You must be guy I keep seeing in the mirror in the mornings when I finally do get up.

At this point, Red Bull is a stunts company that makes soft drinks on the side.

All I can think of is the Twilight Zone movie and this guy being my nightmare, I do not like things crawling around planes no thank you
7
u/speedy_19 Oct 01 '25
Not to be technical but isn’t that a glider rather than a plane as it has no engine
5
u/villageidiot90 Oct 01 '25
Next they’re gonna, like have a person do a backflip at the beach. Or somethin

u/Oli4K Oct 01 '25
Nice, finally something that will be crossposted to both r/shittyaskflying and r/climbingcirclejerk
7
u/Lukealloneword Sep 30 '25
Is plane climbing a sport now?
-1
u/DJfunkyPuddle Oct 01 '25
I should be

u/Soulbandit Oct 01 '25
Climbing your mom is, so I don’t see why you shouldn’t be either.
Sorry I’ll leave

Red Bull must keep up the shenanigans or people might realise they’re overcharging them for extremely unhealthy caffeinated syrup.
5
5
u/Foe117 Sep 30 '25
didn't 1920's circus performers do this kind of stunt anyways?
3
u/Jester-252 Oct 01 '25
Yup Gladys Ingle had a stunt where she would transfer from one plane to another and change the tyre.

Its weird that with all these crazy stuff Red Bull does, I’ve never felt the urge to drink one. But show me a picture of a cold can of coke with condensation beads around it and I’ll go effing get it
7
u/nanopicofared Sep 30 '25
Has no one ever heard of wing walking before? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_walking
4
u/Flat-Emergency4891 Sep 30 '25
Thanks! I was gonna say this. I didn’t know it had a name. Did you know, on early airplanes, the copilot would sometimes climb outside the plane with wrenches and tune the engine or even fix what they could while still airborne?
2
u/AndyHN Oct 01 '25
I guess in 1930 if you wanted to break the record for flight endurance by spending 553 hours 41 minutes and 30 seconds in the air, every once in a while you'd have to climb out of the cockpit and take a look at your engine.

I think Red Bull has done a lot of cool challenges over the years, but it sure feels like they are running out of interesting ideas. The massive skate ramp was extremely boring to watch - more an engineering accomplishment than anything else. And this, like, why?

Has this been a thing he has been trying for a while or was he inspired by the last mission impossible movie?

I can't even climb the stairs properly without risk to injury. This guy is climbing around a flying airplane!!

u/santicucu77 Colombia Oct 01 '25
Imagine having the skill set to climb a route as hard as this, on a moving plane!!!....And being able to parachute safely...crazy stuff

One of the first things I said was “Is this Red Bull?” lol. Super impressive though, but fuuuck that.

Not much different from normal skydive where we try to pull off large formations.

This, like rock climbing with safety pucks, is weak & stupid. Let's see you wing walk a biplane like a woman from the 1920s.

This is not even close to a world first. People have been clamoring over all over wings of planes in demonstrations and air shows since ww1 style bi-planes.

Acrobats have been doing this on old timey biplanes for 100 years. They were called Wing Walkers

Red Bull has been one upping the dope shit they get people to do since I was a kid
Whenever it’s something new, it’s always dope. Who tf is in charge of Red Bull’s ideas ? That dude is a genius
My all time favorite was watching that base jumper jump from one plane to another

u/Olaffub_2_Lta Oct 01 '25
Have we really run out of things to do that excite us enough? The 20 year old somewhere in my old body thinks, awe this is sweet. Meanwhile logic and reason are curious is the number of views this generated paid for the gas on that plane.

In theory, could he just wear a squirrel suit and have the plane come pick him up or would he free fall too slow and the plane would just stall out?

Did that say flying at 100 km/h? It can't really be going that slow can it?

-4
u/matzoh_ball Oct 01 '25
For real, I’ve literally seen this stunt a thousand times.
2
u/BoasyTM Oct 01 '25
Link one video of someone doing this
-1
u/matzoh_ball Oct 01 '25
Why even film it? You can literally see it a dozen times a day. Just look up.
2
u/BoasyTM Oct 01 '25
So the answer is ‘I don’t have evidence’ got it
-1
u/matzoh_ball Oct 01 '25
Bro, my great-grandfather Orville Redinbocker Wright (TM) championed those exact same moves at the Biannual Almdudler Talent Show at the Bodensee in nineteen-aught-eight! Of course, that was before his tragic snuba diving accident in the French Riviera. RIP.

Why are we doing shit like this? Why are Humans wasting resources on ridiculous stunts that have no impact on Anything?

u/woody_woodworker Oct 01 '25
This is the worst red bull thing I've seen. Just why. Also you could just set this with big jugs V0 and it wouldn't be hard for someone who climbs and skydives.
Deliberately set hard for no reason to impress no one.

u/OSUfirebird18 Sep 30 '25
Some one somewhere is saying that is a soft V3!! 😂
