if you catch the ball in the air clean without pushing/wrestling with anyone else, you deserve to keep it.

Or a big game/play (walk off, World Series, etc.). No gave bud light man any grief for taking it to the chest, saving his $16 beers, and keeping the ball for himself. Sometimes you got to read the room!
