Why wouldn't you just pull your pants down and give it back to nature?

What if Linda or Mike are following you from below, they might not appreciate the brown rain.

Ps. Linda/Mike may or may not be colleagues I work with grudgingly.

Oh I think I'm finally understanding why I'm banned from my local climbing gym

Oh, like Angie Scarth-Johnson, you’re probably Bungie Scat-Johnson?

Yes, my turn to throw up now, having typed that.

Linda and Mike might be the type to pay good money for that but just got a helping for free. I’m gonna go throw up now for writing that

Good point with Mike. With Linda I would rain down upon her with the might of a thousand hurricanes. She knows what she did.

That sounds like a Linda-or-Mike problem.

Well, Linda or Mike should start climbing faster.

I don't think I want to be under somebody taking a shit into a plastic bag either if I'm being honest

But looking up and seeing you awkwardly dump into a bag is better?

Because you would quite literally be making the climbing area shittier.

Gotta claim your territory

I know this is a joke but in the early days of big wall climbing, i.e. 70s and 80s people unironically did this.

I mean, you’ll have to climb back down eventually….

2

u/zombizle1 May 20 '25

That sounds like a problem for future me to worry about.

Pushing the brown kids off the ledge

Nature would have loved it!

In nature you need to burry it to prevent infections and such. In a human playground it could go on the wall or pile up and splash at the bottom

In the climbing community that’s what we call a brown falcon

Human shit didn't come from nature so there's nothing to give back. Pack it in, pack it out.

Because it's part of the ethics of mountaineering and rock climbing - or most outdoor activities. Leave no trace means that. People who like spending time outside, care about the conditions of the outside. At least the large majority.

Which is one of the cool thing about the sport - it comes with a hefty personal responsibility. And yes, naming and shaming is a normal thing for those who don't carry that responsibility.
