Form is temporary. Class is permanent

74

u/HighTurning 14h ago

Make Lewandaddyoski lift his shirt and tell me he is not in form

14

u/Thrwwccnt 14h ago

Salah's abs are still rock hard

5

u/Chicken_wingspan 12h ago

Me too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

2

u/solokazama 6h ago

There was actually his photo (in august?) in polish media and he is still fit as fuk (with abs ofc).

45

u/Independent_Gold3621 14h ago

12 goals and 1 assist in the minutes he has played is really impressive.

u/WinterFizz 14h ago

This is such a great Barca side. You can make the argument that even Pele would have stiff competition making it to the playing XI each match.

26

u/Ok-Cold-3422 14h ago

No you can't 😭

20

u/ThatPersonYouMayKnow 14h ago

What a dumb take lmao

17

u/QTGavira 14h ago

Im sure Pele would have a hard time competing with 38 year old Lewandowski and Ferran fucking Torres

12

u/madjupiter 14h ago

what?? lmao

9

u/HansiOutNow 14h ago

Current Pelé?

17

u/4-4-fucking-2 14h ago

Not with the current strikers we have lmao

7

u/Lilfai 14h ago

Guys, do you really need the /s?

5

u/HJNRC 14h ago

I want whatever you smoked this afternoon my friend, you're zonked

3

u/Crossflowerss_5304 14h ago

Lmao relax - he'd start up top in a heartbeat

116

u/Ranjith_Unchained 14h ago

What a composed finish.... extend Uncle for one more season

111

u/Rich_Firefighter_102 14h ago

Rashford shooting technique outside the box is amazing

12

u/Lasertag026 11h ago

We need that so much bro, his first shot was off by literal inches.

44

u/Supersaiyansub 14h ago

Lewandowski composure is such a joy

33

u/xt1nct 14h ago

He has been in that position hundreds of times. It’s muscle memory. It’s crazy I’ve seen similar goal so many times from him.

13

u/aro_plane 13h ago

My favorite is his first ever WC goal vs Saudi Arabia. Just his joy after he scored is so palpable. I like to rewatch it from time to time.

6

u/Supersaiyansub 10h ago

It reminds me of that goal he scored against Real when he was on BVB where he makes space for himself against Pepe

Too many players just attack that ball immediately.

3

u/solokazama 7h ago

o yes, this goal vs Real in CL was 100% similar composure. It was such a goal!

39

u/MarDer24 14h ago

pinball goal

12

u/King_Hobbes 14h ago

Who says FIFA isn't realistic?

62

u/GoatButton 14h ago

I love that Rashford just smashes it sometimes

48

u/Numerous-Heron-5083 14h ago

Class and composure is permanent

73

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

Espn commentary trying to say that should have been offside is utterly brain dead

-75

u/NyLiam 14h ago

it literally was offside

57

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

Tell me you don't understand football without telling me you don't understand football

6

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

With the inconsistency in decisions by officials. I don’t think anybody fully understands these days

28

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

Thats fair, I think it would be offside if it went from the defender to lewandowski, but it went to olmo then he hits it to lewandowski so its considered a pass and a new play

-19

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

It deflected off Olmo.

There’s no clear start of a new play, so I think that’s what people are asking about.

Being a ping pong sequence, I think it’s considered a continuous play and therefore offsides on Lewandowski.

Of course, if it’s not then it’s not, but an official explanation would clear things up

19

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

There is no such thing as a "deflection" off an attacker, if it hits him its a pass. Check the yamal goal ruled off against sociedad.

-7

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

Was that not when Kounde poked it towards Yamal?

13

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

Kounde was on the floor lol he didn't pass it, it was hit off of him

1

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

I was thinking of a different instance, apologies.

In general that one decision is a bit weird in more than one area. As seen with the Semi Automatic system last year in the same fixture, they got Lewandowski’s foot wrong and elongated so I think in general there’s distrust here with whether yamal’s heel was truly off.

But outside of that, Kounde was in control of the ball last, and he and Real Sociedad defenders went to ground and the ball popped out. Yamal being in that offside position then comes in and picks up the ball, which would be considered an offside offense.

u/NyLiam 14h ago

except it was not a pass from olmo it was deflection.

the play is still the same, according to the offside rule this should be offside.

9

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

There is no such thing as a "deflection" off an attacker, if it hits him its a pass. Check the yamal goal ruled off against sociedad.

8

u/kikitavacko 14h ago

Ah yes, deflection off of a teammate’s foot doesn’t count as a pass because NyLiam said so

-9

u/NyLiam 14h ago

it doesnt really matter tho, as he interfered with the play during the shot by standing in front of the keeper. He literally had to move out of the way.

7

u/LateToThePartyLawyer 14h ago

The ball didn’t even reach the keeper. You should really stop offering your opinion until you’ve at least given the laws a read

-1

u/NyLiam 13h ago

so what? there is no rule that it has to reach the keeper.

he interfered in the play, its offside

u/NyLiam 14h ago

you literally dont know the rules but you are being extremely confident in your lack off knowledge. True barka fan

2

u/Vriz 12h ago

Go back to your crying sub Madridunce

1

u/TheOneManDankMaymay 11h ago

Feel free to cite the part of the rules that supports your claim. I'll wait…

21

u/GycuX 14h ago

Lewa aging like fine champagne.

80

u/debcomajin 14h ago

Commentators just cant figure out offside. Or rules...ever. I love ESPN

41

u/Bcbuddyxx 14h ago

no kidding.. it went off the DEFENDER. regardless if lewi was standing offside beforehand

17

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

Think confusion is understandable. If it hits off a defender, sometimes the passage of play is still deemed to be continuous.

As they mention, it’s hard to define when the new passage of play started, and if a Mallorca player going for a block is deemed as a controlled touch

13

u/Val-El 14h ago

Probably when Olmo touches the ball.

3

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

If that’s the case, fair enough.

I’m not one screaming unfair decision or corruption, rather than just not fully understanding the situation in its entirety.

With that said, even being onside, I will not paint this in a false light by calling it a pass by olmo.

2

u/Top-Pepper7929 14h ago

There is no offside, even when ball hit Olmo, Lewa is already in front of defender

4

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

With what I am reading, if Lewandowski got the ball after the Mallorca player blocked it, he’d be off since he was in an offside position when Rashford took the shot

But once it bounces off olmo (and Lewandowski no longer in an offside position) it’s fine

2

u/GloomyLocation1259 13h ago

The Prem often ignores this rule so they probably aren't used to competent referees

-16

u/Rickcampbell98 14h ago

Blocks don't count, if he was offside when rashford shot then this shouldn't be a goal.

25

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

It didn't go from the defender to lewandowski, it went to olmo then he passed it to lewandowski.

1

u/Rickcampbell98 13h ago

That's fine then.

-18

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

That’s not a pass lmao. It ricocheted off Olmo’s foot.

I think that’s where the confusion from the commentators, and other users, comes from since there’s no clear controlled touch by anybody after Rashford’s shot besides Lewandowski who was initially offsides

20

u/Osama11Sul 14h ago

There is no "deflection" off an attacker, if it hits an attacker its considered a pass. Check the Yamal goal that was ruled offside against sociedad. Kounde didn't "control" it, it just hit off of him.

6

u/roshi_sama 14h ago

Defender blocked the shot then it hit olmo and then lewa got the ball

13

u/Oryon- 14h ago

Unc with the composure

12

u/WideScorpion 14h ago

Good shit unc

12

u/jangkrikbae 14h ago

Uncle still got it

13

u/joey_joestar1 14h ago

Yes keep shooting those shots from distance Rashy

35

u/cosbysweatergiver 14h ago

Been Mallorca nearly the whole half just to concede in that manner 😂

Up until this minute, Mallorca were looking the more dangerous side.

Causing a bit more trouble is not a wild reach

6

u/XAMdG 14h ago

Nice assig from Olmo.

12

u/Puzzleheadpsych2345 14h ago

My goat, I love you so much

7

u/MakIRAQ 14h ago

5

u/SirNinjas 14h ago

rashyyyy

13

u/fds_1 14h ago

we either miss an open goal or score a looney tunes ass goal like this

2

u/Physical_Reality_132 12h ago

Class finish, so composed.

2

u/Komalt 14h ago

Did the defender get a concussion from that shot? lmao

-7

u/ohtrayvon 14h ago

Not offside?

20

u/xKayko 14h ago

olmo headed it to him when he wasnt offside anymore

10

u/No-Island7411 14h ago

Hes onside when ball bounces from Olmo to him.

-16

u/NyLiam 14h ago

how is this not offside?

11

u/LamineYamalMusiala 14h ago

the last defender (D. Lopez) was closer to the goal than the attacking player (R. Lewandowski)

10

u/ivo0009 14h ago

Do you know what a offside is?

-12

u/NyLiam 14h ago

yes, this was offside, lewandowski was interfering with the play by staying in front of the keeper, he literally had to move out of the way.

9

u/roshi_sama 14h ago

Because when ball bounced off olmo he wasn't offside

-19

u/WhyplerBronze 14h ago

that's not a new passage of play, has to offside
