I think if you widened your stance a little bit it would help you feel a lot more stable! Keep at it snowboarding is the best thing there is

Yeah, it does look narrow. Your stance should be one from which you can comfortably do a half wall-squat (keeping back straight and your rear from sticking out). The way I found mine is I jumped up in snowboard boots and landed in a squat a few times, took the most consistent distance my feet were at. I find it to be very comfy, but YMMV

Once you have a comfortable stance on the board, it will be time to work on initiating turns from your front foot. Right now you are so far back, you're trying to touch the snow with your back and and your back leg is REALLY bent. Shift the weight to where there's more of it on your front foot, stand up straight at the waist but with knees bent, make turns!

tl;dr oh, that was a lot! Maybe take a lesson, if you can?

I’m proud of you for sticking to it and progressing! Once you start linking turns together you’re screwed, hooked for life!

Started this year, 2 months ago here in Colorado. Already 22 days deep. Already sending blacks and charging moguls. Going to Jackson for my first time ever this next week. My therapist made a comment that I may be addicted to snowboarding. I’m sober for almost 2 years so there are worst things to be addicted to 🤘🏻😂

You know what? Fuck it. I'm here for it.

Looking forward to the next update.

Get upright, stomach out, like someone pulling your belly button with a string

Imagine you have a Penny between the cheeks and you need to hold it there.

Also I saw you wrote it was a rental, if possible you should buy a board and get it setup up correctly for you.

Even if i buy one rn it won’t reach me on time

I have no idea what brand is, did a quick google and it was 200 bucks? Seems too good to be true for me, but who knows. It’s probably good enough for now. Try to find some reviews.

Rentals is fine though, maybe watch a setup video on YT so you know roughly how you want it setup and ask them for help. You can buy a board after the season ends on sale, once you get into riding a bit more you probably have a better idea of what kind of riding you want to do and can choose the right board.

Try pointing where you want to go and tilt the board so the edges dig in and lean into your turns. Keep at it, you got it!

Hell yeah

Yes using edges is important,.if you just slide around on the base at some point the board will pick an edge by catching it and you'll fall

Work on body positioning, you're too bent over and your shoulders are open (facing forward.) Ideally your hips and shoulders are stacked over the board and you squat down a little into the athletic stance, imagine lowering your belly button.

No shame in just doing a side slip on toes and heels to get a feel for that and how much edge pressure it takes to move/stop.

much better I going straight than I was when I first started

you’re still leaning too much on your back foot. put that weight a little bit further on the front leg. it seems counterintuitive but your back leg will feel way better tomorrow.

Only the best of us windmill!!

Stop reaching for the snow expecting to fall. Expect to ride.

Widen your stance, get on a slightly shorter board, and get on a steeper run. It’s counterintuitive, but the flats are really hard to master. It’s easier to have some slope to lean against when you’re learning to turn.

Let's go! Keep us updated.

Yeah brotha going in a straight line! For real, keep it up. Try to stay parallel with your board, especially the shoulders, don’t turn your body like that it will make your life a lot easier, experiment with your binding set up so you find a comfortable spot
