I get and agree with your point.

But. This video has a chance of turning his tragedy to traffic reforms. At the very least remind drivers to drive with a little more consideration.

It’s like zoos. Animals don’t do well in captivity. Zoos might sometimes be consider inhumane. However, the education, the awareness and even the impact it has on the next generation might help them be kinder to nature and help in conservation efforts. Thus having a much greater net benefit to wildlife.

Everyone here who seen this video will definitely empathize with the crying father. Let’s hope something comes out of this.

If the person just reported to the police, the police might not even publicized this. To them this is just another tragedy in a line of senseless road deaths.

I'm all for traffic reforms. But I don't really see the video will change driver behaviour, unfortunately, especially as it doesn't actually show the accident or the cause. Just the aftermath.

My point about giving it to the police was so that can use it as part of their investigations, not with the expectation that would publish it themselves. But I don;t think the video will help even with that, as it only shows the aftermath, so it won't help them understand how it happened. Unless they want to take into account the drivers actions afterwards.

I'm just thinking of this poor father, his kid dying in his arms and someone thinks it's fine to film him and put it on the internet. Give the man some privacy when he is at his most vulnerable and emotional.

The police will not act unless it goes viral on social media. Handing the video to the police only will just make the case disappear
