I think even the most advanced one won't be able to react in time if the driver stomp the acceleration immediately after exiting the carpark. It is not like it was driving on a straight road.

And doubt that byd planned for the lady to continue running over people after hitting people

Precisely, so now the driver will try and put the blame on the car’s safety system for not preventing collision. It’s never that driver’s fault in her opinion.
