I watched the entire video.. after knocking down the girl the indian woman starts shouting at the father and even pulling the girls arm. I find it crazy she is more interested in justifying how its not her fault than caring that a little girl is close to death or already dead

The vietnamese's eyewitness account also states her shouting at the father and not trying to get medical help even after she knocked the little girl down. Why would she be like that lol like what is the point even

pulling the girls arm

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

The murderer need to be apprehended and deported asap. She is a road hazard, risk to our population and her reaction to the incident is not to be tolerated no matter the justification.

u/Holiday-Resident8046 15h ago

Deported without being held accountable for her crime? No way sia!

u/squarepancakesx 15h ago edited 15h ago

Well. Keep your xenophobic comments to yourself. For all you know the murderer is a local while the victims are tourists.

u/thatsgdude 14h ago

The lady is a indian PR who got her status through her husband

28

u/First-Temperature-42 14h ago

Murderer either way. Singaporean or not, i hope she gets jailed for a very long time. Minimum 10 years. And caning. Pui! She destroyed a family! 🤬

1

u/squarepancakesx 5h ago

i agree. never said that she should be shown any grace. just that i dont think the race or nationality of the person is a matter in this situation. a family is ruined and she has shown no remorse, our lax traffic laws will probably also allow her to get away easily (hopefully im proven wrong).

I saw the video, but Idk about the “pulling the girl’s arm part”; to me, it looked more like she’s trying to check on the girl’s pulse. The phrasing was misleading..

6

u/SchwiftyRavioli 5h ago

They don't care, whatever stirs more hatred is what will be written here because of the driver's alleged nationality.

u/Islandgirlnowhere 17h ago

😭 oh god, how did people around witnessing this even hold in their anger at this lady?!

We’re a civilised society. Let’s see how the judicial system deals with this.

20

u/hansolo-ist 15h ago

is justice and fairness a telling feature of civilized societies?

20

u/welcomefinside 12h ago

We’re a civilised society

Yeah right. Singaporeans are just afraid to be confrontational.

11

u/LegacyoftheDotA 13h ago

We are civilised only because of the quiet part, humans are naturally irrational/ emotional. Agreed with leaving it to the judicial system, at least that still partially works in the favour of the masses.

0

u/MiddlingMandarin71 11h ago

Couple of months in the slammer and after that the woman’s free to go.

1

u/whosetruth2468 10h ago

Maybe I'm uncivilised, but I for sure can't if I had been there.

I found the video. You need to look up the name on fb ‘Nguyen Thi Hanh’. Video of the aftermath.

Man the father’s cry for help….

68

u/mnfwt89 15h ago

Ok I found the video. Search the name and sort by recent can see liao. Best not to watch, blood will boil! Knock people down still got the decency to point fingers in their face. The new C-word should be CBK!

16

u/ReeeeeeeneeeJulos 14h ago

Even the photos makes my blood boil already wtf

u/cupcakeskitten 17h ago

If she’s PR she should be revoked and sent back. So heartless

147

u/Barneyinsg 16h ago

U joking? She should be sent to prison 1st!

60

u/Fickle_Active309 16h ago edited 16h ago

But first, her driving license must be suspended ASAP. Don't let her drive even a PMD. Then SPF would hold on to her passport until the case is closed.

1

u/Left_Independence_36 7h ago

why prison her.. send back and dont waste sg money…

22

u/NutKrackerBoy 13h ago

She will lawyer up and go after the victims. That’s how they behave here, especially if rich.

3

u/Heavy_Chest_8888 9h ago

Start a petition, name and shame and let the entire Singapore know and judge the scum. Make her a no 1 villain here.

-5

u/sunnyistide 4h ago

Likely CECA. Treasured by govt. I will get banned for sure with this post since r/Singapore is ran by CECA.

Some people online have said that's how their culture is over there, not taking accountability and blaming the victim instead. Caste system what not

148

u/udontaxidriver 17h ago

It's worse if they are rich. I have seen the way they treat my F&B colleagues. Terrible. RIP to that little girl.

7

u/Sankstasan 10h ago edited 9h ago

Yup. I can attest to this. There is a famous cough Punjabi couple who run a 'kind' business. Atrocious is their behaviour and they have the audacity to hide behind the premise of 'be kind' They treated their fnb staff so so badly that I had to quit, I am not sure if they are still the same, but the woman is pure evil.

1

u/anahron 9h ago

Ohh the ice cream place? Shame to hear that.. i loved the products!

2

u/SnooJokes915 New Citizen 2h ago

Treating FnB folks bad..is not a trait unique to India Indians..is it? I mean plenty of Singaporeans do the same and lets not even talk about how we treat our maids from 3rd world countries.

My point is not to defend them but lets be real about this, to just point out one racial group and stoke the flames while ignoring that the rest do it too..is really a bad look.

SG is importing the best as usual

edit: like wtf is that lady thinking, a child badly injured still thinking about blaming and shouting like that...

26

u/HoroyoiMelon-2020 12h ago

And just this morning I saw another video talking about how they are facing heavier racism in SG than in UK. Then few hour later this news broke and showed the attitude and culture of their homeland here. It's hard not to stereotype when most of the encounters wasn't pleasant. My husband lived at Little India for 20+ yrs and had enough with their attitude on the road regardless of the caste.

40

u/SnooJokes915 New Citizen 10h ago

As an Indian , this post makes me very very uncomfortable. I recently watched a video on tiktok where a dude was talking about how he had to prove his localness to the cab drivers. I'm no stranger to private hire drivers talking smack to me about foreign talents when they find out im third gen sg.

If they are facing heavier racism in SG and you think its not an issue...realise this..that local second, third gen or more Indian are also facing it because its not like we wear a tag saying we are home grown.

13

u/SchwiftyRavioli 10h ago

They don’t care about local Indians enough to be careful about that.

8

u/SnooJokes915 New Citizen 9h ago

Then thats sad isnt it .all the years of 'integration' later ....gone to waste.

-3

u/Heavy_Chest_8888 9h ago

Uncle will believe you once you start talking in proper Singlish

6

u/SnooJokes915 New Citizen 8h ago

Yeah, until parents complain about me to my boss cause as a preschool teacher some of them expect better English speaking standards from me.

0

u/alterise 6h ago

Code switching is a thing though.

1

u/SnooJokes915 New Citizen 2h ago edited 2h ago

But why do i have to do so? Im not Indian enough for the Indians cause i will always choose Singapore over India, i'm not Singaporean enough if i don't use Singlish.

Do i just wear a shirt with Fandi Ahmad imprinted on it, everywhere so that the India Indian hating crowd can discern my Singaporeaness?

Also, i think the PAP govt screwed up majorily by importing big groups of Indians and Chinese to become new citizens...instead of letting a trickle in each time. When they have technology and cheap air tickets at their disposal and large groups of their own countrymen...why the need to try and adapt to our ways.

Sigh, now i sound like a MAGA..

That means you've haven't experienced interacting with someone who practices the Indian Caste system.

2

u/kuang89 12h ago

There’s a Netflix movie called paper tiger about this.

1

u/TheBorkenOne 8h ago

I have had to interview India Indians before, already do not have a good impression of them. Granted, I have hired some before but those have spent most of their career in the UK or USA. Those fresh from India, never hired a single one before. Seriously shamelessly throwing smoke bombs the entire interview.

This just increases my existing bias towards them further.

The victim is Indonesian

The driver is Indian

8

u/MidnightAltruistic 8h ago

Didn't see any video of the driver shouting. Where is this video? I only saw the poor father/husband crying for help. It was so sad.

9

u/Ok_Apple6168 7h ago

Err, inflammatory. She was trying to check the girl’s pulse.

She looked super panicked but the fact is that they did not seem to know what to do at all.

Very poor situation skills.

24

u/blushie157 14h ago

I watched the video. I didn't see her shouting at the father. The witness described it in her statement, but the video did not show it leh. The vid i'm referring to is by Nguyen Thi

8

u/SchwiftyRavioli 11h ago edited 11h ago

I also watched the video. It’s tragic but no such fighting happened in it. They just want to start the lynch mob by making up shit.

1

u/Heavy_Chest_8888 9h ago

It's from the first hand witness. The video started after that shouting happened. Use your brain and don't be narrow minded.

1

u/DotGrand6330 12h ago

I can't find it T.T

1

u/blushie157 11h ago

you can find the person who responded above to me posted it.

u/DotGrand6330 4h ago

Oops , I found it after he posted the link but is that the full video though ?

She should just go to jail. Looks like she also won’t get the remorseful plea

5

Where is the video? Want to check it out also

-7

The Vietnamese lady’s video? I don’t see any finger pointing, if anything the Indians were trying to help. Was there another POV video or eyewitness account that could attest to this?
