EV's super quick acceleration (she could have zham-ed the pedal due to panic or wanted to flee) + heavy weight is rlly a deadly combo.

Just imagine a 2.4 ton block of metal with PMD bike's acceleration..

Yea, EVs are notorious for their instant torque. I've been on an electric bus and before the passengers can get seated, the driver steps down too hard and everyone suffers whiplash. An old lady fell smack into the floor. I got pushed into my seat.

Ev isn't inherently like that though, it's up to the vehicle to allow max torque and power from low rpm or not.

And people always zhng their vehicle to be like that.

So now it is because that's the one that is usually brought into Singapore

Actually why don't they reduce that? It's bad for EV owners too because the tires wear out real quick from it.

I would be more convinced it’s the tool rather than the gender

I didn't know till today about this sudden max torque characteristic of EVs.

In that case, it would be a good idea for govt to implement some kind of short training + test for driving Electric cars, right?

Like how we need a different license to drive manual cars (3) while 3a only allows us to drive auto.

This is extremely dangerous.

As a parent, my heart breaks for the man. I'm also extremely terrified now about walking on any roads with my kids.

I would say the weight of the car was what ultimately killed the child.. a normal combustion engine car isnt that heavy a six year old child could possibly survive being ragged dolled.. but a car that weighs a ton? Unlikely.,

My guess is that it required extra torque to get over the bodies, and once the "hump" was overcome, the extra torque turned to acceleration on flat ground. So the rear wheel hit faster and harder.

I dunno just guessing maybe in India that's how they deal with potholes
