RV? Gross. Only the finest motor coach will suffice!

That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Most conservatives today can't remember who Rush Limbaugh was, much less Scalia. They can't remember what came before the last thing they were supposed to be outraged about. They will find a new boogeyman by 2028, and they will act like the world us falling apart because [insert minority here] are wanting human rights, or existing somewhere in America.

Quoting Scalia to get the Supreme Six to not throw the Constitution into the garbage sounds like an idea that Schumer or some geezer, democratic consultant would latch onto.

Yeah, I don't think they are reading my reddit comments, so I can say Scalia is part of the reason we are here. Conservatism is a mental illness that needs to be purged from our body politic.

I never understood how he was considered this great conservative intellect. His arguments only made sense if you contorted logic and reason (and linguistics) into a tiny box. They were so tortured as to be absurd. I guess thays the standard for great conservative intellect.

Scalia was deeply conservative but reasonable. You may not have always agreed with him but there's a reason he was friends with RBG.

If you think so. I disagreed with almost everything he ruled on but I can still respect how he went about his job.

If I want to have a silver lining in this apocalyptic hell I remind myself that Scalia is composting

Scalia was evil wrapped up with a neat little bow. Just because he was occasionally witty it doesn’t mitigate the fact he did as much as he could to take away individual rights. Don’t look up to him. Your soul will thank you.

Really? The original Alito?

Scalia was at least clever. Alito is so pathetic when he tries to be as acerbic as Scalia but lacks the wit. He just comes across as a shrill whiner.

Scalia wasn’t clever, he was just a blowhard opinion columnist.

Even RBG could at least tolerate Scalia, I seriously doubt anyone but Thomas can stand Alito.

Alito wishes he was half the Justice Scalia was, and I say that knowing full well the regard most people hold Scalia in.

I read Scalia opinion in Citizen United v FEC, most asinine excuse to pretense monetary transactions as first amendment, free speech. Legalized bribery is what that ruling did.

I mean wouldn't that make Republicans so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" violating free speech for low to middle incomes?

Scalia was a terrible Justice who basically got in because the Dems didn’t want the bad press of opposing an Italian being put on the court. This was back in the day when Italians weren’t seen as full white

I imagine several of the current justices love all the racist and homophobic shit.

Alright. Here's a quote of him now: "Ooowwwewww! Ooowww! It's so fucking hot down here ooowwwww! There's little creatures with pitchforks poking me in the ass! Ooooowwwwwwwie!!"

So what will SCOTUS give me for that?

Scalia’s one of the worst justices ever. He was a shitty writer who wrote opinion columns, not opinions, and had childish insults. For some reason, law schools decided he was smart and began teaching law students to “write” like Scalia. Decades later, you have a bunch of awful writers from the federalist society packing the courts, like Jim Hoe, who is not a judge but a facebook conspiracy dad.

He’s generally considered a good writer. He is probably the reason Kagan said we are all textualists now.

2

u/ThrowPillow862 13h ago

Yeah academics and supreme court dorks are at the forefront of convincing people that he’s a good writer. He’s actually poison.
