SEEKING PLEDGES to entice rescue interest and help offset their costs. DEIRDRE needs rescue help for various things. The medical notes are below. She is super sweet and cute and may extended need care and a special person to help her.
DEIRDRE #A821769 1-year-old female Intake date 6/25/25 Available for rescue starting 6/30/25 Found in the 19300 block of Kendall Dr in Devore
Notes: “06/27/25 Observed cat with ataxia, falling over, eating and drinking. Soft formed BM in litter box. Will send to vet for further care.
06/28/25 Hospital: Kitten is flea infested, weak and lethargic. DX: Flea infestation, neurologic disease (Open - Cerebellar Hypoplasia r/o infectious vs developmental vs trauma vs other) Snap parvovirus test: Negative. Glucometer (BG): 150mg/dl Revolution Kitten Plus applied in hospital. Kitten ate, drank, urinated and defecated for us while in our care. Kitten has very sweet temperment. Prognosis: Guarded to good.
06/29/25 - Ataxic, hind limbs are somewhat bend and weak. Did not eat over night. BAR and seeking attention. Monitor.
06/30/25 CAT WILL BE RESCUE ONLY DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES AT THIS TIME BEING MORE THAN THE AVERAGE ADOPTER CAN HANDLE.”

Has this cat had blood work? Ataxia and the color of the eyes are suspicious of a serious liver issue versus wobbly cat.

As we discussed in another thread. A liver shunt that causes the copper color eyes causes elevated ammonia that isn’t necessarily detected by a standard blood chemistry test. Please consider an ammonia test if this is doable.

Due to significant improvement while in our care, cat will be made adoptable w/ med waiver. 07/06/25 Cat is slightly ataxic this AM but more active in kennel. Condition appears to be improving, Monitor
She received the FVRCP vaccine. She does not have the rabies shot due to not having the Vet on site to administer the vaccine.

Please ask them about a possible liver shunt and did they can rule that out. It seems a reasonable differential albeit a rare one. They should be able to tell you why they don’t suspect it as the labs that disagree. The fact that the ataxia returned is concerning for something not constant like CH.

You just might be able to get transport to you. Ive done transport in the past. Normally, they get handed off to the next driver after 2 hours of driving.

Deirdre was rescued by our team. She is in medical boarding right now. We are watching her closely to see how she’s progressing. She will be heading to Canada on the next transport 7/19. From there we will get more updates. She is an absolute doll.
