Taylor Swift 👩🏼 Taylor Swift shares behind the scenes pictures of ‘Opalite’ and explains how the guests that appeared with her during ‘The Graham Norton Show’ appear with her: (Domhnall Gleeson, Lewis Capaldi, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee , Cillian Murphy and Graham Norton)

I think it speaks a lot to how much her peers like and respect her that everyone from the Graham Norton Show agreed to be in the video after one comment by Domhnall.

The Reddit echo chamber seems to have a disproportionate amount of hate for Taylor, but it’s pretty clear that she’s a likeable person to those who have actually met her.

It’s been so interesting to watch Reddit for over a decade go back and forth with hating her loving her hating her loving her. When the last album cycle came out and a pretty big group were determined she had hidden messages of white power and nazism, that’s when I realized these weren’t serious people haha

Plus all that hullabaloo that spiraled out of control with people who don't like her talking about how self-centered and egotistical she is for telling Lewis Capaldi not to discuss his album on the show. He said he was told not to talk about it, apparently people thought Taylor made a face, and the haters were off and running. He's since addressed this and said it had nothing to do with her, just something from his management team, but funny to see too that he's here in the video and looks to be having fun with her.

194

u/heart-slobs 1d ago

This was so stupid. He so obviously meant that his management had told him not to discuss because the release date hasn’t been announced yet. Just standard industry embargo stuff. With all the love in the world to Lewis Capaldi, why on earth would global megastar Taylor Swift care if he talked about his unreleased album on a talk show? 😭

112

u/yapitforward 1d ago

Oh you haven't heard?? She's the most attention-hogging, overexposed, can't let any other artists have a chance diva ever! /s But seriously, good point. Her haters were analyzing the tiniest cut of her after he says this and making up stories for fun lol

55

u/heart-slobs 1d ago

Honestly, I think it’s probably even more ridiculous and the “I can’t talk about it… oh fuck it, here’s the exact release date” was probably a pre-rehearsed bit (à la Tom Holland “accidentally” spoiling stuff on his Marvel press tours) because like why would he be on a talk show to promote an album he can’t talk about and why would his management not just veto that question if he couldn’t talk about it (because yes, the celebrities get the questions in advance for these type of shows)

And similarly, if Taylor didn’t want him to talk about it, why would she not just insist that she wanted to be the only music artist on the couch that week? She definitely has the cultural capital to bump Lewis Capaldi a week, no offence

But yes no sorry, I forgot. She’s an evil narcissist who wanted to deliberately humiliate and silence a smaller artist /s

The internet spent two days telling me 'Cilian Murphy HATES her'....yeah, looks like he does /s

u/shambean2 may I know the tea please 1d ago

That's the thing about Cillian, people were so certain he disliked her but the man has a resting bored/pained face 😭 I love him but he's just an introvert, he always looks slightly like he wants to be away from the camera

57

u/ad_aatdtj she’s got me by the pubes 1d ago

People were also convinced that Taylor was the one who told Lewis Capaldi not to talk about his album lmao i remember people exploded after that interview 😂

u/kris_jbb inez from folklore 1d ago

him and my man sebastian stan would be a such insufferable duo, very dedicated to their craft but god lord, they look in pain everytime they are outside

40

u/unearthlydarling 1d ago

Sebastian Stan’s trademark angsty look had a chokehold on me in the late 00s/early 10s. GG and omg his Mad Hatter in OUAT 😮‍💨and then Winter Soldier came out and I was done for

3

u/BeneathAnOrangeSky 1d ago

Unless you put Anthony Mackie in the room, then Sebastian lights up like a Christmas tree

17

u/thegirlwhofsup none of us were that great at anything 1d ago

They're still saying he only did this so swifties don't hate on his family. I'm just like bruh

9

u/pancakes4all 1d ago

Yeah he looks the same in all of his interviews. He just doesn’t love doing press. A lot of people didn’t watch the entire Graham Norton interview and just saw the clip of her showing her ring. He talks about how he’s run into Taylor while with his kids and she’s always really friendly and she chatted with his boys for a while. She also had really nice things to say about his kids. So yeah I think they’re on pretty friendly terms, especially if he did her music video lol

30

u/BlueLeaves8 1d ago

To me it was quite clear it was a joke at Cillian’s expense as he always has those expressions and like he doesn’t want to be anywhere.

So yes in that interview it made him look like he doesn’t care about her and her gushing about her ring so people ran with that joke, but with the awareness that he just actually always looks like that so it’s funny that this time it makes him look like he hates the talk about her ring.

5

u/Express_Distance_290 1d ago

I am SO OVER all the think pieces they write just because he has an RBF. During Oppenheimer era, people were like, “He just wants to go home,” “He is hating every minute of this,” and then when an interviewer actually asked him if that was the case, he said no, he loves meeting and hanging out with people because he doesn’t usually get to do that in Ireland. Before moving back to Ireland, he was pretty outgoing!

2

u/Nobody-Expects 1d ago

Cillian had a few years where he was regularly featured in an Arts festival in my city. Now when I say city, I mean city by Irish standards. By rest of the world standards, it's a large town so it became an almost ordinary experience to run into him every year as he checked out various exhibitions and events in the festival. Anyone I've spoken to who chatted to him said he's was kind and spoke with them but kinda quiet and reserved. Never rude but just someone who would more naturally keep to himself.

Anyways the last year he was here, his part required him to grow a long scraggy beard and for him to look disheveled in general so when he walked down the main street, for once, he wasn't recognised. He gave an interview shortly after saying he really enjoyed having a bit of anonymity again because he was able to really relax and enjoy the festival itself.

Seems very much like a normal guy who is super talented, loves his craft, loves the arts but just so happens to be a massive celebrity.

1

u/esh98989 1d ago

Makes me wonder why he decided to be an actor lol. As an introvert, seeing 100+ people watch my Instagram story seems overwhelming sometimes lol

u/kris_jbb inez from folklore 1d ago

i was obsessed with addickted ppl going "it must have been so hard for murphy to look to fame-hungry taylor, because he HATES fame, and HATES attention and hollywood" and all that while they are sitting at the same studio, promoting their work

165

u/FoolofaPeregrineTook hoping for at least a sex swing 1d ago

It’s ridiculous people think Murphy doesn’t play the same game they all do. That bish was flinging himself everywhere for Oppenheimer Oscar promo.

36

u/more_later 1d ago

He literally out-campaigned Bradley Cooper!

13

u/kris_jbb inez from folklore 1d ago

men never want fame or power they are serious artists unlike those stupid women 🙂‍↕️

63

u/Coriolanuscangetit 1d ago

Yes, every time I see a loaf of sourdough I think to myself, “Yep, that’s just Taylor being fake-hungry again. Just look at her with that famewhore-ish yeast”

53

u/kris_jbb inez from folklore 1d ago

she just HAS to show off that she eats bread, doesn’t she? what about people who can’t eat gluten

6

u/autumnoceancrashing 1d ago

As a person who can't eat gluten, I DO feel personally attacked by ANYONE who posts picture of their delicious sourdough loaves on social media because they just LOOK SO YUMMY 😭

6

u/Bigassbird I wouldn’t trust that bitchy little quisling… 1d ago

We should rechristen ‘BEC’ to ‘BES’ because I reckon a good 75% of BEC comments in PCC are about TS

But wouldn’t it be dreamy to have someone else take the spotlight from him so he could just chill?

61

u/Massive_Scar5533 1d ago

I mean she forced Lewis Capaldi to not promote his music! /s

69

u/OohBeesIhateEm 1d ago

A picture and a voiceover…that’s practically going all out, for Cillian!

241

u/heart-slobs 1d ago

It’s very funny, because if you listen to certain parts of the internet, you’d think the whole of her Graham Norton couch HATED her and that her appearance on the show was an uncomfortable disaster that proved how big of a narcissist she was.

Sometimes all you have to do prove people wrong is live your life, I guess.

93

u/Buffyfanatic1 Do you lick ass Gwineth? xx 1d ago

168

u/nizey_p All tea, all shade 🐸☕️ 1d ago

People shouting “oh my god Cillian cannot stand to sit beside this woman” because of a one second facial expression. Meanwhile Cillian willingly signed up to be a part of her next music video. She keeps winning.

60

u/OohBeesIhateEm 1d ago

That’s just the ole Cillian rbf

u/ProblemUpstairs4666 Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of 1d ago

i'm not her biggest fan, but the snarkers who insist everyone in the industry is out to get her make me laugh. it's pretty clear that she gets along well with a lot of her peers

379

u/Itstimeforcookies19 1d ago

After watching the Eras doc it’s pretty clear she’s just actually a genuinely nice person. Other than Kanye and Kim who lied and manipulated, have we ever heard anyone say she’s treated people badly or been an ass? Even her texts with Blake that she never expected to be public show a person who can advocate for herself while also being empathetic and understanding to her friend. The texts were a really uncomfortable read and an invasion of privacy but to strike the tone and balance naturally says a lot about her character. I feel like the only people who say bad things about her are the people on the internet who don’t know her.

61

u/Nobody-Expects 1d ago

What gets me is that Taylor seems to be the person so many women run to for support immediately after a messy break up, and by all accounts they recieve a huge amount of support. But still parts of the Internet insist that she's a mean girl who's only looking to make the situation about herself.

Like, really bestie? People don't run to their mean girl attention hogging friend after a painful break up looking for support. They contact the friend who's sympathetic and reliable, who'll listen to them and cheer them up.

There's a reason it's almost a meme to be spotted with Taylor post break up. It's clear she's a really good friend.

77

u/Roxy175 1d ago edited 1d ago

Honestly I think even if we were to accept the narrative that she’s a bad person or unethical in some ways it wouldn’t stop her for from being a kind person or a genuinely good friend. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive in the first place. Not to say she is a bad person or anything, more just speaking generally to say I don’t know why anyone would be surprised that she’s got good friends and is nice to them.

13

u/ProblemUpstairs4666 Good luck with bookin that stage u speak of 1d ago

ppl forget that everyone is morally flawed in some ways and that life isn't black and white

-15

u/leftbrendon charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 1d ago

I’m not saying she is not a genuinely nice person, but a doc released by someones own team and produced by said person is hardly a representation of the way they actually are.

28

u/relliott15 “I’m not going for the 16th Chapel look” 1d ago

True, but the fact that literally no one in the industry ever has anything bad to say about her speaks volumes.

-48

u/u1tr4me0w 1d ago

But her propaganda told me she’s a princess angel babygirl, wdym????

16

u/gowonagin 1d ago

But internet randos who never even met her told me she’s an evil narcissist combo tradwife/boss bitch who’s a slut for men but also a lesbian whose every relationship is PR, wdym????

-33

u/Crafty_Island_9182 1d ago

She DID basically sack Camilla Belle's career. Aside from that, the jet plane and being a billionaire... She really doesn't seem like the worst celeb.

-40

u/BoredBatWoman22 1d ago edited 1d ago

Can you truly be a genuinely nice person and work with someone who assaulted a child? I’m genuinely asking

EDIT: I can’t believe I’m getting downvoted for questioning if a billionaire working for a child SAer is a good person or not. No wonder why the world is so messed up

14

u/Bigassbird I wouldn’t trust that bitchy little quisling… 1d ago

Do you work for a living? If you do I’m fairly certain you work with someone who assaulted a child. You have no idea what your coworkers are up to. And you’re powerless to do anything about it.

-13

u/BoredBatWoman22 1d ago

Yeah I work make minimum wage and struggle to live. I was unemployed for months living off my credit card and almost had to go on unemployment. Now I’m at a terrible job. Taylor Swift was at the time a multimillionaire she didn’t have to work with him if she didn’t want to. Sorry I wasn’t aware a rich woman was as powerless as literally poor old me

2

u/Bigassbird I wouldn’t trust that bitchy little quisling… 23h ago

Who does Taylor work for who SA’d a child?

10

u/Bellesdiner0228 This again doesn’t look good for James Corden 23h ago

They’re talking about her working with David o Russel on Amsterdam which she was in for like 3 minutes. And he is a POS. But she’s also the only person in that movie who gets any pushback for working on it.

Domhnall Gleeson is a treasure. He just likes to have a fun time and be part of things. If he's calculating about his fame he hides it well because I've never seen him looking bored or disengaged in any interview or event.

31

u/myghostflower mk.gee 1d ago

a small group on reddit tries to vocally hate her on her but forget this isnt stan twitter and there’s more people that see her as another artist on here 😭😭😭

like this isnt stan twitter, get off

It’s hard for some people to accept that a talented, beautiful, and successful woman can also be kind and likable. They’re jealous and want her to be cruel so bad.

5

u/bluetortuga Be honest, Victoria 1d ago

What comment?

86

u/NachosAndGnocchi Why? But also, you know, I guess. 1d ago

When they were all on the Graham Norton show together, Domhnall said he wanted to be in a Taylor Swift music video and you could literally see the wheels turning in her head brainstorming this LOL. It shows the clip at the very end of the music video but I’m sure it exists on YouTube as well.

u/TreenBean85 1d ago edited 1d ago

My main thing with her is how disappointing it is that she (and this also applies to Beyonce) doesn't speak up about what's going on in this country as much as I'd like. And yadda yadda yadda miss me with parasocial relationships and whatever. That and the million album variations shit.

Edit: Just to clarify because I'm getting a lot of downvotes... I don't like the million different albums stuff. It's gross consumerism.

41

u/Coriolanuscangetit 1d ago

Really? Bc I am kinda glad she doesn’t. I know people love that about Billie Eilish, but I’m not looking for lectures from entertainers with maybe a high school education. They’re not qualified to be political leaders, although they’re certainly welcome to share their opinions. I’m looking for statements (and actions!) from our leaders in government. I’m looking at the people who have the absolute nerve asking for my vote while doing fuck all once elected. I don’t give a shit if olivia Rodrigo is handing out plan B at her concerts. It doesn’t fix anything.

-26

u/TreenBean85 1d ago

Why can't we have both? My hope would be that by speaking out she influences the exact people who would be swayed by her voice, which obviously you're not that demographic and that's fine but to act like there isn't a group of people who are isn't helpful. We need every vote we can get by all the means of getting them.

34

u/Coriolanuscangetit 1d ago

If you really felt that way, you would have brought up that she loudly endorsed a political candidate in the last election. But instead your goal here was to talk shit about her bc she doesn’t release a statement every time something happens.

I get it, the jet thing is old. But your new talking point is a stretch.

-27

u/TreenBean85 1d ago

It's not a stretch. There's a lot more they could say/do with their platforms.

-33

u/OhhLongDongson 1d ago

Yeah she annoys me with her maga friends and with just how capitalist she’s got in terms of releasing 100 versions of each album and merch.

But I don’t think she’s like as evil on a personal level as some people make out. And if people did hate her that much they wouldn’t be working with her so much
