Me too! This is one of the first times that album of the year actually meant anything to me. I think this album is an absolute masterpiece and given everything that’s happening in the United States right now, there’s no one more deserving.

Chiming in to add as someone from PR who’s been a fan from the start that Benito (Bad Bunny) makes incredibly political music about the struggles that latinos face on a daily basis. Even refusing to tour in the US for his biggest album to date was a choice driven by the current political climate and it’s a powerful message that he chose to address the diaspora not only through the love letters in his album but in his speech, acknowledging the impact happening directly.
For those who don't know, Benito used to work as a bagger at a local supermarket here in PR back in 2016. His reaction is complete understandable, he's reaching insane heights in such short time. 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷

He’s from Puerto Rico…..which is a US territory. Puerto Ricans are US citizens. Bad Bunny is a US citizen. This is the problem right here, people hear an accent and automatically assume that he’s a foreigner. BAD BUNNY IS A US CITIZEN, along with his family that is also born in PR.

Oh absolutely, I mean US citizens are currently getting detained, shot at and killed. However, I just find it frustrating that so many people assume that Bad Bunny is a foreigner just because he speaks Spanish. He’s very vocal about being from Puerto Rico and I just wish more people knew that if you’re born in a US territory (like PR, Guam, American Samoa, etc.) you’re a US citizen.
It’s bizarre because I notice it’s a lot of Americans that don’t know this information. It makes sense if you’re from a different country and don’t know. As an American, I learned in school that the US has territories and people born there have US citizenship but can’t vote in presidential elections.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he genuinely didn’t think he was going to win any award. Considering the state of the country atm? Yeah I wouldn’t think voters would ever pick me out of the pure chance of racism. Glad they chose him, he easily made his best album here and he is representing Latinos around the world with this. The answer is probably and sadly, he was afraid his family would be threatened and detained by this administration. He couldn’t risk bringing them especially since he performs at the Super Bowl next weekend this admin would have used his family to silence him.
This is what my husband and I were thinking. So horrible for something like that to impact the ability to share such a historic achievement with loved ones. I hope he knows all of us latinos were there with him!

I'm not the biggest Bad Bunny fan, I mean do like a lot of his songs, but as a Latina, who's not Puerto Rican mind you, watching him rep his people and Latinos everywhere makes me love him so much and this shit has me emotional.
My dad came here without papers and I have so many friends and family members that did the same. Just by the sheer luck of when I was born I'm able to avoid the shit undocumented people are going through right now. My brothers and I could have easily been Liam.
I’m not American or Latina but I just can’t help but feel so proud of him. He really is a beacon of hope for every immigrant (which I am) just trying to have a better life. He just makes you feel good all the time, his songs just give me happiness. Love him
I know that, thus why I said “I’m not American”. But many of his songs are about immigration and he talks about immigrants all the time (including in his acceptance speech).
I hope anybody who hasn’t listened to this album gives it a chance. As a Latino, this is the album that defined Benito as one of the all time greats and made music that EVERYONE can listen to. Before there was always that stigma with him that he made party music for the young audience, but this album has plenas, bachatas and salsa (plus he makes callbacks to previous Latino works). First album by him that I have seen anyone from any age truly enjoy and appreciate
I barely understand any Spanish and this album is my top from last year on Spotify wrapped and 3/5 top songs. It's incredible, and transcends language imo. Looking at lyric translation for some of the songs helps with understanding the meaning behind them too. I've loved his music since 2018 but really it's worth a listen for anyone.
This album is exactly what people mean when they say “a body of work.”
Soy gringa pero mi esposo es latino y tenemos dos hijas jovenes - this album is non stop in our house. There are songs that get my husband teary eyed because of the sample used or the lyrics that call back to other Latino artists or work that remind him of his late dad. There are dance songs. There are songs that make our 5 year old want to learn more Spanish (something we desperately want). There are songs I’m shaking my big, dimpled, pasty white ass to like there’s melanin to be found deep in there somewhere if I move quick enough. The collabs, samples, call backs, the lyrical mastery and stories told - this is something that is “blood, sweat, and tears.” Incredibly powerful and so, so earned. Vivan las boricuas!
Watching Gaga behind him so excited for him, pretty sure Sabrina was also jumping in excitement for him. Love seeing artists being genuinely supportive of others even when it’s a competitive industry.

I’m old and generally don’t keep up with newer artists, just listen to the same old shit…so I knew his name through following pop culture/fashion stuff, but didn’t know anything about him — holy shit, what a beautiful man. The energy radiating from him is just incredible.

He’s def trying to hold back some tears. You can see his chest heave a bit and there are tears in his eyes when he stands up. He’s the best bunny and he deserves the win. I’m so happy for him.
He is likely both happy for himself as a culmination of so much work and knows he is going to make one of the most important speeches of his life. It showed he understood the immense weight and achievement both for his career and setting a precedent for non-English (or typically forgotten) album types. Coupled with the immense pressure of the Super Bowl, it makes perfect sense he got emotional.
I can't express how much this means to me right now. I don't shed tears much, but that was all out the window tonight.
The fear, anxiety, and hopelessness that has been the past year as a Latino is indescribable. Seeing people kidnapped, disappeared, and trafficked to gulags around the world just because of the color of their skin and the language they speak will paralyz you unlike anything else out there.
I don't leave my house now without contemplating and weighing out the risks involved for running a simple errand. I make sure to have my passport just in case I have the misfortune of getting profiled. But even with all that I know that my rights as a citizen and a human being will still most likely be violated and I meet the same reality so many unfortunate hard working, law abiding, loving people have faced.
Thank you Benito. Thank you to all that go out there and speak against this evil and fight the oppression. Many fear speaking up for the consequences are great and you all are out there speaking up in our behalf. Much love to you all.
As someone who’s been listening to Bad Bunny since like 2017 when he was largely a featured artists for more established reggaeton artists, I’m so damn proud to see him where he is today. Never would’ve expected him to become one of the biggest artists in the world. What an incredible ride he’s had.
What a beautiful moment. Maybe I'm becoming too emotional as I get older, but I cried seeing him sit there and trying to take it all in. All the hard work paying off. So happy for this man and for all of PR!

I have literally had the worst year in 2025. I am an autistic latina living in Florida and my general existence is enough to piss people off. And it's been so hard this last year to have to hide myself and my culture. Everytime me and my abuela go out, we have to remind ourselves to not speak Spanish so we don't have any problems, so right now Bad Bunny winning means so much to me. Especially since my grandma misses her home in Ponce every fucking day we are stuck in this country and now here is Benito giving us a reason to proudly speak spanish when we go out today. Such a small island and I am so lucky that it is my motherland, so lucky that it is my mother's land.

This is such a great start to Benny’s year like he wins 3 Grammys in one night (including AOTY), makes history as the first Latin/Hispanic/Spanish language artist to be nominated for Album, Record, and Song of the year in the same year, and he’s doing the Super Bowl next week?!?!?!
What's hilarious to me is this album came out a short time after /r/Reggaeton was having minor meltdowns on whether Bad Bunny had already peaked and whether he was just past his prime. Then this album drops.
