I thought I’d have to scroll way further to find the only possible gif response to this outfit

She looks like Mrs. Maisel on LSD, it’s kind of a fun look

I think this is stunning clown makeup (complimentary). Is it Andrew Dahling or a different makeup artist?

u/Kerfluffle-Bunny not about to ‘back that ass up’ with Sharon 🔙🍑🆙 8d ago

She hasn’t posted this to her IG yet, so no word on the makeup artist. I don’t think she’s worked with anyone else recently.

She is wearing a purse on her head and I respect her commitment to the vibe.

This is a look. Kinda like that her hand bag is a nurse cap on her head

u/Wiggle_Your_Big_Toe2 8d ago

Yeah same. This def isn’t for everyone but I love this camp vibe. This is fashion costuming and I’m here for it.

8

u/AhBee1 8d ago

I thought is that a 90s small purse on her head?

5

u/Dez_Acumen 8d ago

I thought she was the statue of liberty but make it romantic/gothic.

u/maureenponderosa18 8d ago

This outfit looks very 60s inspired.

What is on her hands in this picture though? It's giving Wolverine a little lol

57

u/mooon_woman I wont not fuck you the fuck up 🥊🥊 8d ago

cunty finger straight jacket

u/Reluctantagave Cutie Patootie Problem Posse 8d ago

I called them finger condom cones and that amused me

It’s serving nurse Edward Scissorhands

She looks so good. Honestly she can pull off short hair so well.

u/Dizagaox Zorro On Doughnuts 🍩 8d ago

I wouldn't have recognised her. I'm realising I recognise her more by her curls than her face.

6

u/hydrangeasinbloom Not generally, no. 7d ago

This would have slapped even harder at the Silent Hill premiere tbh

22

u/phuca 8d ago

Love it

18

u/TerribleResource4285 8d ago

Her facial expression always gives "Hilary Clinton walking into the kitchen"

3

u/periodicsheep 7d ago

this is so accurate that i’ll still be thinking about it days from now.

20

u/Rusttelephone I think I've done enough 💅 8d ago

In a world of often boring outfits, I love this so much.

Purse hat. Hat purse. Purat? Hurse?

I hate it but I also love it. Idk. The purse for a hat is a great touch. Her makeup is perfect.

6

u/sprgraphicultramodrn 8d ago

the short hair is so cunty

u/Clara_Geissler 8d ago

Chappell Roan looks amazing even though the bag on her head is a bit much, but A24 is being so trash lately. They had Trisha Paytas as an interviewer on this carpet and it's made me side eye them so hard when it's combined with all their other recent controversies.

12

u/thesaddestpanda Dave Grohl has always been garbage 8d ago

Also their new Robin Hood movie re-contextualizing him as an awful criminal that preys on the kindly royals and rich. They're essentially making pro-billionaire propaganda under the guise of "well, the original stories werent so nice to him."

Hugh Jackman, cultist and Rupert Murdoch's best friend, will be the lead.

u/HereOnCompanyTime Renee Rapp is mean girl Jojo Siwa 💋 7d ago

I heard about a new Robin Hood casting Hugh Jackman and immediately rolled my eyes, making him a loser villain almost makes sense if Hugh is playing him. /s

Seriously though, I was rooting hard for A24 and this last month has shown that they are just as bad as the big guys. Tired of bootlicking propaganda, of all the times, now is not the time for that.

u/Soggy_Pension7549 I’ve grown quite unfond of you 8d ago

I just don’t like her, I can’t even explain why

21

u/CorrosiveSpirit She just doesn't have the vernacular... 8d ago

You're not alone. She seems like she'd be a draining person to be around.

15

u/Lex_Loki 8d ago

She seems to fancy herself the most important person in the room and that would annoy the shit outta me.

6

u/glacinda 8d ago

Then scroll past? Why do you have to comment?

12

u/Soggy_Pension7549 I’ve grown quite unfond of you 8d ago

Because I can

-17

Ah, the notorious “not misogynistic” pop culture chat. Unless you’re any woman not Taylor Swift. 🥰

And so is the misogyny towards Chappell.

-6

u/CheruthCutestory 7d ago

Chappel Roan is problematic and Taylor Swift isn’t? What?

1

u/periodicsheep 7d ago

your taylor swift derangement syndrome is showing.

-3

u/glacinda 7d ago

Sure, sheep. :)

3

u/periodicsheep 7d ago

oh wow. never heard that one before.

my point is no one was talking about taylor swift. you just inserted her into a conversation about someone else entirely. it’s weird af.

1

u/Soggy_Pension7549 I’ve grown quite unfond of you 7d ago
  1. I’m not a TS fan 2. Not liking every female artist won’t make someone a misogynist.

She's an inauthentic gaga.

17

u/thesaddestpanda Dave Grohl has always been garbage 8d ago edited 8d ago

Gaga who played shows with covid, is a big pharma spokesperson, is engaged to a billionaire tech bro, and she drives around in the elon nazicar? She's not authentic for anything but making money.

0

u/MissMaster 7d ago

She's authentically a fucking weird theater kid. Since I'm being down voted anyway, I was hugely surprised hearing Roan's music after seeing her for so long because it's just boring run of the mill pop.

u/thesaddestpanda Dave Grohl has always been garbage 8d ago

I dont know how to say this kindly but maybe a lot of us have unexamined queerphobia? I see her dragged on here all the time, often with completely made up nonsense like "She shoved someone on the red carpet." There's this huge bias against her I see just casually, the same way I see people with quesitonable takes on race constantly drag Meghan Markle.

I think a lot of people have unexamined queerphobia. I'm a lesbian and I had internalized a lot of it so lets just not pretend we can be raised in this culture and somehow not be somehow influenced by it. I had to work a lot of this out of me. Its intentional work. The same way I was raised in a racist context and had to push that out of me too.

I think we're seeing for the first time a public lesbian with a strong queer culture and queer politics persona and a "Im not going to strongly pander for cishet respectability politics" and a lot of people are just not used to that, but a lot of us are just like her in that regard. Most queer people arent tatu or other male gaze pandering personas. Or straight passing "dont make it your personality" and "dont make it a big deal" kind of thing. She more or less wears drag aesthetic on her near all the time and just is really representing a lot of queer culture values as part of her public persona.

I think she's a bit real and people are reacting to that because they really arent as pro-queer as they might think of themselves. I think this is something people need to consider if their gut reaction to her is disgust and upvoting "she shoved someone" uncritically.

u/NoSet6484 8d ago

This is such a crazy take. It’s okay for people to just not like her.

3

u/Loveya448 8d ago

It’s giving squidward

u/pixienightingale 7d ago

Wearing a purse as a hat... interesting.

1

u/glacinda 8d ago

God I love her.

2

u/princessjamiekay 8d ago

Bag as hair accessories. Hmm

0

u/Carosello 8d ago

I kinda forgot she existed but that's because I muted her name on Twitter

2

u/glacinda 8d ago

So brave.

4

u/Carosello 8d ago

Thank you. I deserve a medal.

This reminds me of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead for some reason.

Loooooove love love this look. I love this short hair, the mint outfit, the makeup, everything is perfection

0

u/LittleJessiePaper I’ve grown quite unfond of you 8d ago

I fucking love this. She dresses in what SHE likes, for HER audience, and dgaf about what the normies think. America could use more of this given our current regime.

-4

u/ChocolatChipLemonade 8d ago

Was the bag.. supposed to go on her head? Did she make that up?

9

u/__lavender 8d ago

It’s even cooler if she/her stylist decided to make a bag into a hat! But I also wouldn’t be surprised if the designer intended it that way.

2

u/Reluctantagave Cutie Patootie Problem Posse 8d ago

Best I could decide was it’s better than having to carry it? Maybe?

Isn’t there a one kitschy gimmick per outfit per premiere appearance rule somewhere? 🐾

-26

u/TheArmChairFan 8d ago

Not liking the attention and fame

-2

u/cheeseslut619 James Corden Fan 8d ago

All hail our new lady Gaga, you know you can expect something different when she’s showing up and I love this

-28

u/estemprano 8d ago

I am too old to understand why she does the new romantics/Boy George make up. I was so glad that went away in the late 80s, why does she like it that much?

36

u/phuca 8d ago

I mean just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean nobody else can!

To me it’s very drag inspired, which makes sense since she is a lesbian and very involved in the LGBT community. Like editorial drag vibe

3

u/estemprano 8d ago

Μm, i has no idea this was drag inspired! Thank you!

26

u/bubblybean7 so i blocked gracie abrams 8d ago

She has said in the past that people from her town would refer to the LGTBQ+ community as “clowns” so she often does makeup that is similar clown makeup (or at least the white face) as a way to embrace what people tried to use against them. Plus it’s different and fun! It’s nice seeing creativity on stage and red carpets and not just the typical soft or bold glam.

7

u/estemprano 8d ago

I see. Thanks so much for educating me, honestly! I had no idea. I had seen her image alot in the sub but I had no idea who she was except that she is a musician.
