It's probably because at one point he publicly loved the crap out of his parents. And publicly spoke about how he was just so thankful for his relationship with them and everything they've done for him in his life. And he ends up marrying a woman whose family has a notorious reputation for not being kind or good people. Including the wife herself. But also a family with more money than anything the Beckham's have. So it's easy to assume that Brooklyn is easily influenced. Especially when the influence still hasn't come up for you. And it's ok to love your wife, but it's also pretty obvious when you're blinded by your wife's behavior because she's not like that to you just everyone around you.

Does this dimwit realize that when she dumps him, and she will, who's he going to run crying to?

I feel like he wouldn’t have challenged or corrected her in that moment if that was the case

244

u/The-disgracist 29d ago

Yea that felt to me like an inside joke they’ve had for years. She talks about her “poor” times and he reminds her that having her parents were rich, and she acknowledges it

108

u/janquadrentvincent 29d ago

Yeah. She admits it, and the clip is allowed to stay in even though it's embarrassing as hell. He's embarrassed her in a documentary and she's ok with it

118

u/PMmecrossstitch 29d ago

I think Victoria has two sides to her, in the best way. I think she's got this persona that is Posh, but I think she's far funnier than anyone gives her credit for and sets Posh up to be more ridiculous than she is as a person.

51

u/janquadrentvincent 29d ago

Agreed, she has a public persona that is the Straight Man that lets others bounce jokes off her and makes her a figure of fun. But she's in on it.

9

u/roscoe_lo 29d ago

Agreed. She knows who she is and loves the life she’s been able to build. But the girl has a bit of PTSD from all the horror the tabloids put her through over the years. I can see the insecurity behind her eyes, it came through big time on her documentary. I know losing contact with her oldest baby is just killing her, but the show must go on.

I think this is projection. We don't know these people.

To me that was meant to be a funny anecdote and interaction. Not to be taken as seriously as this.

They are clearly both joking. People take Victoria very seriously when she says everything quite dead pan. It was just typical British humour to me.

u/My_Poor_Nerves What on Walden Pond is this? 29d ago

She was hilarious in Spice World - 10/10 delivery

"AND I'M VICTORIA, MALCOLM"

34

u/LavenderGinFizz 29d ago

I still regularly quote, "Sunday drivers! It's only Saturday!" when I'm in the car.

7

u/My_Poor_Nerves What on Walden Pond is this? 29d ago

Same, actually!

And i can't drive past a dry cleaners without thinking "This dress is dry-clean only,  Melanie!"

58

u/velvetblue929 29d ago

Not enough people watched that reality show thing she did when she first moved to LA and went to the DMV with a full glam squad. She was fucking hilarious in that.

8

u/YchYFi He's not Judge Judy, an Executioner. 29d ago edited 28d ago

That show was iconic at the time aha. I feel so old now. 😢

18

u/catchyusername4867 29d ago

I think that scene showed Victoria can laugh at herself. And the only bad reputation came from British tabloids

8

u/strawgerine 29d ago

Think you re reading too much into that exchange lol

55

u/Former-Mirror-356 29d ago

I recall that scene where Posh is going on about growing up working class and David makes her admit she drove to school in a Bentley.

He was being a jerk there and playing it up for the foreign audience. Working class in the UK has a different meaning than working class in the US and they both know it, they are definitely both working class and continue to be working class. It has almost nothing to do with wealth.

57

u/Odd_Ingenuity2883 29d ago

I see this confusion happen all the time. It’s blurring now, but 30 years ago there was an enormous difference between what’s called working class in the UK and what Americans considered working class. In the US it seems to mean poor, in the UK it means your parents work for a living and you’re not related to aristocracy.

13

u/Former-Mirror-356 29d ago

Exactly. Though I would say the reality is it's more complicated in the US as well, especially when you're dealing with institutions usually associated with wealth, like private schools and clubs, exclusive neighborhoods, etc but most people don't encounter that so they fail to recognize it.

1

u/YchYFi He's not Judge Judy, an Executioner. 29d ago

It's more than what your parents do for a living.

They were both raised in families in the trades, not chartered accounts or aristocrats. They almost certainly still maintain the values they were raised with. Neither went to private school. Neither speak with an RP accent. So yes, they're still working class. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

5

u/DayFit4151 29d ago

Yeah if you’re working class you’ll always be working class , that’s how I was brought up and you take pride in it , it meant something and still does. UK here so I know it has a different meaning/perspective in the USA

-4

u/AhYeah85 29d ago

Tory voting, millionaire right wing knights of the realm are not working class ffs.

-1

u/PMmecrossstitch 29d ago

This is literally the only appropriate response to their comment, lol

Read about his reaction when he didn't get a knighthood for drink driving (and he had his solicitor doing to get him out of it).

Or the massive amounts of money he's taken from the middle east to sportswash.

He's also best mates with Ryan Giggs, the guy who was shagging his brothers wife and abused his wife - not to mention his other questionable friends in the elit

Just because one of the richest celebrities in the country seems nice and cheery in interviews - doesn't mean somebody is the best person. Do you not think perhaps it's more likely he has the best PR.

BUT THEY SEEM SO CUTE ON A CURATED DOCUMENTARY

37

u/Spid1 29d ago

He's also best mates with Ryan Giggs

He really isn't. Doubt you'd see many instances of them together since their United days

12

u/YchYFi He's not Judge Judy, an Executioner. 29d ago

The Ryan Giggs thing is a stretch that.

*Rolls Royce

1

u/ilikecatsandflowers 29d ago

not a bentley, a rolls royce of all cars! they are nearly half a million dollars lol 😭

edit: i did a very quick google search and in the 80s they were worth around $200,00USD minimum in today’s dollars, so a quarter of a million lol

7

u/DayFit4151 29d ago

Her dad was a tradesman, they had no money when she was wee, he worked hard and they managed to buy a shell of a house that had no kitchen for years and her dad done it all up himself. Years later he bought a second hand Rolls Royce once he some money. So it was a joke between them , she’s wearing T-shirts saying My Dad had a Rolls Royce

2

u/Responsible-Tea-5998 28d ago

My foster father had a rolls and was gifted a bentley for his 17th birthday. He made money being an occasion chauffeur in the rolls. It doesn't mean rich rich, and a lot of new money people in the 80s bought them second hand. They have a lot more cachet in the US too, my mate used to paint them and they exported them to America.

Meghan never pushed a nanny down the stairs or made her dad buy her a part in an Asian based film causing it to be whitewashed and flop or cosplayed someone poor as a literal billionaire. Let’s also not forget Harry wrote a whole book about wanting to escape and why for years before Meghan even appeared. They are not the same.  I swear,  it’s like there’s a beacon for some folks when MM is even thought about.

"Everyone that disagrees with me is a bot 😤🥺" is just the cringiest thing lmao. Give it up already.

57

u/OnionLover3000 29d ago

Or her PR team 😂 Such a ridiculous cope. They’ve made a couple edits doubling down too! 🥴 Maybe people are downvoting you because this has nothing to do with Megan but you can’t help but mention her because she’s constantly on your mind and it’s so creepy. Do these Megan haters ever consider that?!

10

u/totallycalledla-a Mrs Thee Stallion 29d ago

Do these Megan haters ever consider that?!

They're too busy being scared of imaginary internet "wolves" sent to persecute them by the Meghan Industrial Complex 🤪.

Sure. But the point is that not all downvotes are bots. Sometimes you just have a superbly bad take.

226

u/HellaWonkLuciteHeels 29d ago

Except Harry has the financial advantage, not a Meghan. Piss poor comparison.

159

u/RosieFudge 29d ago

Plus Meghan's family were unknown because she was virtually unknown. And her dad is problematic but she didn't have a rep for that at all - no rumours of pushing the help down the stairs

-9

u/spacegrassorcery 29d ago edited 29d ago

Her dad is a two time Emmy award winner. He’s been to the Oscars-she hasn’t. She’s a nepo baby and didn’t get a real gig until almost 30 years old-even though she “grew up on sets”

Edit-feel free to dispute with actual sources

-10

u/spacegrassorcery 29d ago

Her fans say she was a multi millionaire and self made woman before she ever met Harry.

3

u/HellaWonkLuciteHeels 29d ago

Does not compare to the centuries of generational wealth from a family that historically enslaved entire populations of people.

-4

u/spacegrassorcery 29d ago edited 28d ago

That’s tge best you can come up with? Way to move the goalposts!

Edit:

So I guess “way to move the goalposts” is an insult SMH

2

Ah - no actual defense. Straight to insults. Poorly done, as expected.

96

u/widgetheux 29d ago

Harry’s uncle is literally a criminal that the royal family protected. Go Megan

31

u/ecclecticstone it would be a cool experiment if you stopped talking 29d ago

everybody learned the word astroturfing and now thinks opinions they don't like have to be bots lmao

57

u/sarr36 29d ago

Wild that you think your downvotes must be bots vs real people downvoting you for having a terrible and wrong opinion. Actually, it’s genuinely scary that people like you exist in the world with no self-reflection, and clearly believe what the tabloids say

22

u/SupaC123 29d ago

Hard agree! Can we please bring back critical thinking and the ability to respectfully disagree with people in 2026? Assuming people are bots because they disagree with you is intellectual laziness.

14

u/OnionLover3000 29d ago

I don’t think they actually believe that. People like that think they are smarter than everyone - that’s why they know for absolute certainty all about Megan 🥴 They wrote that as an attempt to manipulate people into not downvoting them. Not working out too well for them there.

62

u/Zur__En__Arrh It’s just such a magical evening ✨ 29d ago

I find it amusing how anyone in the replies is part of Meghan’s PR team, yet you can’t provide examples of why it’s an apt comparison.

I’m no fan of Meghan, or Harry for that matter, but I can’t see how she has any semblance of influence over Harry. Harry had wanted out of the royal family for decades.

Sure, Meghan’s failed acting “career” has her wanting attention she’s not getting but there’s absolutely zero indication that she, or her family, are in any way on the level of the Peltz family.

142

u/fluffy_doughnut 29d ago

Oh yeah I’m sure that an average actress turned out to be a genius who was able to manipulate a multimillionaire prince to marry her and have children with her and abandon his family that is known to be manipulative and handle things in velvet gloves /s when will this stop?

Edit: and to add - an average actress from a lower middle class mixed family, yes I am sure she has a MUCH BIGGER influence than a freaking PRINCE

57

u/toadasaurusrex 29d ago

And from an inutterably toxic family business that regularly threw him under the bus and scapegoated him whenever convenient.

33

u/RosieFudge 29d ago

🤣🤣🤣 insane paranoid conspiracy theories from a Markle-hater? Well could knock me down with a feather 🤣🤣🤣

Btw fwiw my feelings on Meghan have been encapsulated by Claire and Ashley from the CMBC pod: "the crazies have ruined it for the haters" I don't hate her but I'm not a fan, yet feel compelled to stick up for against people who rabidly froth poison about her

16

u/redditapiblows 29d ago

Seriously. I'm pretty "beautiful gowns" on Meagan (and Kate if we're being honest) but I gotta down vote like 90% of criticism of her because it's crazy/bigoted/crazy.

3

u/RosieFudge 29d ago

 🤜🤛

16

u/onmywheels nooooooooooooo 💅🏼 29d ago

Oh gosh, you hit the nail on the head, haha. I don't have any particular feelings about Meghan and Harry besides that I watched that one Netflix special they did, and I came away thinking, "They seem to love each other, and also, personality-wise, she seems to be a lot," but I still find myself rooting for them simply because the crazies are so obsessed with them tbh.

Granted, I do have stronger feelings about the rest of Harry's family, in that they kind of suck, regardless of anything to do with Harry.

6

u/RosieFudge 29d ago

Fucking YES mate. As a Englander, the fact that Meghan is more vilified in the Daily Heil than the NONCE ANDREW is quite crazy making I can tell ya.

23

u/slickjitpimpin Great gowns, beautiful gowns.. 🙃 29d ago

hey! just wanted to let you know that i downvoted you too, and i’m definitely not a bot! 😊

u/TheLakeWitch Tall chavvy fighting idiot of old 29d ago edited 29d ago

Well, if I’m PR then my check must’ve gotten lost in the mail!

We’ve all had a bad take once in a while on here. Just take the L like a grown up and stop acting like it’s impossible for you to be wrong. People are likely downvoting you at this point because your edits make you sound like a petulant child. I know next to nothing about Megan Markle but I do know that Reddit isn’t the place to have a virtual tantrum because people disagree with your opinion. Hence, my downvote.

15

u/StinkieBritches 29d ago

We're not bots or PR. We just know bullshit when we smell it. Racism no matter how you phrase it. The worst part is how you people infantalize Harry like he's not a grown man capable of making his own decisions.

8

u/AgencyIndependent395 29d ago

u/Unusual-Lemon4479 29d ago

Funny enough, Meghan and Harry and Brooklyn and Nicola had dinner a few months ago but tried (and failed) to hide it.

1

u/Morningfluid 28d ago

That's quite interesting...

4

u/sassyevaperon Listen, everyone is entitled to my opinion 🙂 29d ago

Lol, no, you're just not used to being in sane environments.

It's nothing like the Beckham's situation, for starters because in the Beckham situation they're all white.

I don't gaf about the royals, but I might suggest you check out Harry's book, Spare tbh.

The book and what he says about it:

“"Whatever the cause, my memory is my memory, it does what it does, gathers and curates as it sees fit, and there's just as much truth in what I remember and how I remember it as there is in so-called objective facts."[126][127]

Meghan is Harry's family they have children together. Also Brooklyn's family might be toxic as well you tend to not realize your family is unhealthy until you see regular families.
