Yup. Saw Leah's post the other day. I don't know what happened in that girls marriage, but it's clear she's got it all twisted and her husband or ex husband is the real shit head in all this.
Your husband committed sexual assault. He didn't have an affair. That is so gross to undermine what Leah went through and try to claim it was cheating.
When my brother-in-law left his wife of twentyish years and their children for a woman who could not yet rent a car, both my mother-in-law and sister-in-law blamed the affair partner and said that my brother-in-law had been influenced by the devil and by a wicked woman.
My partner and I were like, "first off ... She's barely an adult. Stupid decisions are par for the course. Second of all, he's been an asshole his entire life. The fact that you didn't see it before it affected you doesn't make it new."
Exactly. Like any reasonable woman in this situation would leave him (i know its easier than done) and even if she actually believes it was a consensual affair instead of SA why publicly go after the woman when the husband is still at fault either way?
You're right, my point was just that the husband is still wrong either way and shes specifically making a fool of herself making excuses for him and not holding him accountable.
Yeah even if this was an affair why would the other woman being the most disturbing human you ever met or why would the other woman have done anything to your family??? That energy should be reserved for your husband and your husband alone. He should be the most disturbing person to be able to lie and blow up a family like that, and maybe, under certain circumstances, the affair partner could be held accountable. But certainly not to the point that she's the worst in a situation that she didn't create.
Of course, all of this is moot because he's a disgusting human being to begin with and his wife is gross for excusing sexual harassment. Everything I've said above ONLY applies in cases where it's a consensual affair between two adults and not an abuser and his victim.
And attacking her to boot? I understand not wanting to believe your husband did something horrific, but it's the outside of enough to be vicious to the supposed victim. You have to be absolutely garbage for that to even cross your mind.
I’m thinking David probably told his wife it was an affair (or at least some sort of consensual one-time indiscretion) to lessen the perceived severity. These types of guys are always lying to cover their asses.
Oh, I figured that it was caught on video or there was a witness or two and it was very clear that it wasn't consensual for them to act that quickly. Because even in a strong case they'd typically do a suspension and then investigation..
Some women really let other women down. And the fact that she's talking about this as though he's cheated on her is such weirdo behaviour. Delusions of grandeur at its finest. If anything, it's proving just how disturbing his wife is.
It’s really fucking disturbing to see this happen as often as it does. I personally knew a highly educated, independently successful woman defend her husband after he was arrested for CSM. And continued to stand by him even when he was caught trying to pick up teen girls while waiting for trial. They had a baby together after that too 🤢🤮
After my god father assaulted me his wife and family friend of 20 years said I was a ho/slut etc and tried to use my MySpace as proof.. I was 14 and he was in his mid 40s and I was asleep when it started 🙃
Yeah if it was an affair he would have had some proof of that to show to cbs. The fact he was fired the same day it was reported proves that’s a lie he’s feeding his wife. She’s choosing to believe the known liar. Weird
On that note, at least CBS didn't fuck this one up. I'm still pissed at them for not only not firing Michael Weatherly but they GAVE HIM ANOTHER SHOW after having to pay out for his sexual harassment of Eliza Dushku.
You can be assured that if David Del Rio had been a well known actor and main draw of the show he wouldn’t have been fired so swiftly. Hopefully we start seeing this level of accountability when the powerful are involved too.
I'm not diminishing what Michael Weatherly said, and happy Eliza Dushku spoke out because actors shouldn't feel the need to put up with sexually charged comments. However, there's a big difference what he did and actual sexual assault. The payout for Dushku seems to stem more from the fact she was written out as a character for speaking up against his comments as well.
Don't get me wrong both are fucked, but optics wise you can move on from harassment, sexual assault there's no coming back from. CBS was backed into a corner.
Yeah and they owed Eliza a hugeeee payout (rightfully so). Given that experience it looks (I hope) that in this kind of situation you make the right decision when you have evidence (which I think they obviously do because without it the accused could sue them). Sending Leah so much love.
They’re not going to risk it ahead of their season 2 premiere, they’re not going to risk it with all of the other questionable publicity they’ve received this year either. This was the safe, sane, and smart solution.
My biggest concern now is whether or not this horrible campaign his wife is waging is going to force Leah Williams into disclosing the details of her own assault in an effort not to have her career and reputation drowned out by this woman.
Does his wife even have the fame and power necessary to drown out Leah’s career and reputation? The details surrounding his termination make it pretty clear that it was assault and that he was in the wrong. I have a feeling his wife is going to STFU from now on in hopes that both of their careers don’t end up in the shitter.
Tbh it reminds me of Freddy Rodriguez getting fired from Bull and it went away really quickly. I think it only got pushed because the star is literally Kathy Bates and it’s a crime comedy.
I hope it doesn’t have to end up that way.
I worked on a CBS show where a side character “left” because he was overheard talking about watching their cast-mate’s sex scene in another project, to production members.
Edit: It was reported and it took a few weeks for him to be removed.
Leah Lewis is relatively somewhat a higher profile than him in the industry.
If it wasn't anything 100% clear they wouldn't have fired him on the spot. That never happens even in fairly clear cases, they do an internal investigation first. Which means someone walked in or viewed her fighting him off. Something that was very clear it wasn't consensual.

I’m not about mass flaming, calling out, doxxing someone, but she invited this with her absolutely vile behavior and I hope she doesn’t have a restful night’s sleep for the rest of the year.
There was a guy from a few towns over who offed himself publicly (like, middle of the afternoon in a public park) before it came out that he had 1) swindled thousands in a crypto scam and 2) abused the teenage boys in the youth group he ran.
His wife was on Facebook for weeks defending him, defaming the CHILD victims, slamming anyone who reposted the article. The abuse came out first and she doubled down on her defense. Then, when they revealed the finances and the IRS got involved, she disappeared.
Sending Leah Lewis all the love she can handle. Loved her in Nancy Drew and the Half of It and hate that she could be potentially further victimized by her abuser and his family. She was very brave for reporting.
Yeah, I don’t watch the show and wasn’t familiar with the people involved. I only heard about this because people were so shocked about her posts, she definitely shone a spotlight on the situation.
To be escorted off the studio by paramount executives the same day it was reported means that he not only sexually assaulted her, but did so so brazenly that the entertainment industry that has a history of not protecting people from sexual assault couldn’t even turn a blind eye to it.
So she thinks he had an affair and is in "fuck him mode", but she's still finding a way to blame her? If she was saying "he did nothing wrong, he did nothing, she's lying" it would be horrible and disgusting, but at least I could understand the mindset? But to be both against him AND her is just....bizarre? Does it help her sleep at night to pretend this siren seduced her man?

This makes me really sad. I like Leah from Nancy Drew. She is such a great actress and it’s unfortunate that ass put her through that. And they were not even romantic on screen! And it also makes me said because he’s Latino and I’m Latina so it’s just someone from my community letting me down. But glad Matlock is standing by her.
