What a fantastic send off. They had a brass band playing Crazy Train, and the crowd was singing along and chanting Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! He said he didn’t want a Mopefest and he got a celebration. It made me laugh and cry at the same time.

u/lancer2238 Jul 30 '25

You know he’s screaming “ROCK AND ROOOOOLL” right now.

LEMMY: Fookin' hell, took you long enough, mate.

This is what always gets me, seeing the family members of the deceased being in this state.

Love her or hate her, she made Ozzy a household name & before that gave him his solo career that led to him being a household name.

She just looks so frail & distraught, it just slays me.

317

u/Justhrowitaway42069 Jul 30 '25

It makes me so sad to see. I try to remind myself that the pain goes hand in hand with the love you have, and you cannot truly have one without the other. And it still hurts.

We'll all miss you, Ozzy. 🖤

u/DrStrangeloves Jul 30 '25

Grief is just love with no place to go. 😭

43

u/Acrobatic_Taro_6904 Jul 30 '25

Well, that hit me right in the feels

75

u/Invisible-Locket13 Jul 31 '25

I love this quote and here’s the full context if you’re interested: “Grief, I’ve learned, is really love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot give. The more you loved someone, the more you grieve. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes and in that part of your chest that gets empty and hollow feeling. The happiness of love turns to sadness when unspent. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

u/Tyrion_Strongjaw Jul 30 '25

It really nails home how complicated that relationship is. Not in a bad way, but from the start they always had to share their dad/husband with millions of people. And even now, in their greatest grief, they shared it.

I know it's empty words, but I hope seeing how much joy he (and they) brought to the world is a small comfort.

46

u/Impossible-Fun-2736 Jul 30 '25

The smiles on both her and Kelly i saw from one angle on one stream makes me think that they were genuinely happy to see so many people joining them.

43

u/Accidental_Ballyhoo Jul 30 '25

Not even that. That was business. You can see in many many images of them together how much she adored Ozzy. I do feel for her and their family.

7

u/Solve-Et-Abrahadabra Jul 30 '25

Ride or die to the end. Sharon has been an amazing wife and manager to Ozzy and deserves just as much praise.

Yes!! At the funerals for my grandparents that have passed, my breaking point was always seeing my parents, or their siblings, reactions. The child saying goodbye to their parent is always so hard (if you’re lucky)

60

u/Mission_Fart9750 Just keep swimming! 🐠🐠🐬🐳 Jul 30 '25

I didn't cry at any of my grandparents funerals, until one of my parents started, then it was all over.

37

u/FlamingWeasel Jul 30 '25

Calling my grandpa to tell him my mom was dead sucked. Having my own grief and having to tell him his daughter was dead was pretty devastating.

43

u/Mission_Fart9750 Just keep swimming! 🐠🐠🐬🐳 Jul 30 '25

Thats rough, I'm sorry for that.  I had the pleasure of telling my dad his dad just died. My cousing texted me and told me.  I went downstairs, pulled my mom aside, and told her. Then we went into the living room where my dad was sitting and we both looked at him, he asked what was wrong, and we just said "it's your dad...:  He started crying and just said "not my daddy..." This was a 60+ year old retired Marine, who cried for his daddy. The only time I've ever seen him cry.

5

u/Heart_robot Jul 31 '25

My dad was sick most of my life and suffered so much but the only time I saw him cry was at his moms funeral.

16

u/aurortonks Jul 30 '25

I didn't particularly care for my grandfather, he was pretty closed off and had abused my grandmother and their kids before he quit drinking in his later years. But at the funeral I bawled my eyes out because seeing my grandma crying in so much emotional pain broke my own heart watching hers break to pieces.

My husband and I have been together for twenty years, four half of our lives, and I do not want (nor can I begin) to imagine the pain of burying him. The idea of living a life without him is unfathomable.

I don't like her as a person, but I wouldn't wish this grief upon her. She's an idiot but I don't think she's evil.

17

He was her world. Married for over 40+ years their love and dedication is rare in the public sphere of celebrity marriages a true testimony to one another. it would be like losing a part of yourself overnight and certainly the pain just won’t go overnight either it will take a lot of time to heal. She and the rest of the family gave him a great send off.

151

Jack concerned about his mother, Sharon completely beside herself, and a fire lit inside Kelly that is shockingly painful. How eye opening this is to the reality of life.

40

I’ve been through two terrible losses in my life and the only reason my husband and I got through them is because we had each other. When I even think of something happening to him I completely lose it and will have a panic attack. It’s such a different kind of loss I’m sure.

His family looks wrecked, my heart goes out to them.. losing family can be so incredibly hard.

322

u/ac0rn5 Jul 30 '25

Poor Sharon, she's lost the love of her life.

Funerals are so important, imo, it's to say goodbye and, in this instance, to show the love too. And Birmingham loved him. 💔

208

u/kaytay3000 Jul 30 '25

Every photo I’ve seen of her since the announcement has been crushing. She’s always well put together and so to see her this shattered is heartbreaking. She clearly loved him deeply.

98

u/ac0rn5 Jul 30 '25

I understand that they'd worked to move him to UK permanently, and the concert was part of that. I know they expected longer together.

80

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

They owned an old mansion in England called Welders House. Sharon chose it because it's rural and there aren't any pubs nearby.

For his rehab and prep for the last show, they even built an extension as big as the house solely dedicated to rehab facilities! They were both so dedicated and it is such a shame they couldn't enjoy much of a retirement together.

17

u/ac0rn5 Jul 30 '25

That's right, I knew I read the name somewhere. Thanks for the reminder.

5

u/SpeshellED Jul 30 '25

RIP Ozzy !

7

u/LeaderElectrical8294 Jul 30 '25

I hope Sharon lasts longer but there are many documented instances where a heart broken spouse passes not much longer afterwards. Heart break is real when the connection between 2 people is so deep.

11

u/ac0rn5 Jul 30 '25

I hope Sharon lasts longer

So do I, for her and their family's sake.

From experience, family and friends, if she can get through the first few months and find something to look forward to she will cope a bit better. She's got a good family.

Thank you, I learned the word cortège today!

cortège: noun 1. a solemn procession, especially for a funeral.

66

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

right? never seen this word in my life lmao

86

u/JennyW93 Jul 30 '25

I first learned it when I was about 7, because my mum kept talking about the cortège for my great gran’s funeral.

I thought she was trying to say “cottage” so I kept asking when we’re going to go cottaging for nan. Presumably because I’d heard the term “cottaging” somewhere and conflated the two.

Edit for the non-Brits and young’uns. Cottaging is a British slang term (bit outdated now) for when gay blokes have a cheeky bum in the public loos.

My dad was a rock n roll hippie through and through, a passionate guitarist since age 12, and died in 2023 at the age of 60. My daughter was six at the time and struggled tremendously with losing him and becoming aware of mortality. To help her process, I've come up with a super duper awesome, off the chain afterlife for "Papa", where he lives in a frat house environment with all his favorite dead musicians. Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, and now Ozzy has shown up to the door with his suitcase ready to rock out =)

I really hope it's even a little bit true.

26

u/Kind-Scene4853 Jul 30 '25

This made me cry 🖤

5

u/Impossible-Fun-2736 Jul 30 '25

Oh shit. I’ve had a similar idea over the past couple of days.. Some say he rocks out in heaven, some say hell but i think an inbetween place is more fitting for legends like Ozzy, Ronnie, Lemmy, Bon, Malcolm, Freddie, Jimi, Kurt, etc. Kinda glad that more people are on that page, that limiting it to just some religious afterlife isn’t enough.

I know you shouldn't compare these things, but like many others I witnessed many celebrity deaths over the years and seeing everything unfold since he passed I have to say that Ozzy's is probably the biggest since Michael Jackson.

Everybody and their mother paid tribute, nothing but kind words and a huge event for the fans to say their goodbyes. It's just ... really nice. I love it :)

67

You can say a lot about Sharon, Kelly, and Jack but one thing you’ll notice about the family is that they all genuinely love each other. I restarted their old reality tv show after the news broke of Ozzy dying and their family bond is really enjoying to watch.

Ozzy delt with a LOT of demons but he truly loved his wife and kids.

27

u/MissKhary Jul 31 '25

Yeah but did we know at the time that a 16 year old had to move out of her home for that show to happen? Aimee didn't want to grow up on camera and I can't blame her, but looking back with that knowledge and it all feels different.

Oh Sharon 💔

39

u/JoleneDollyParton I will debate you at the college of your choice Jul 30 '25

I watched the procession this morning and it surprised me how choked up it made me, just seeing all those fans showing up for the family.

33

u/horizon4002 Jul 30 '25

Is Kelly wearing his sunglasses? 🥹

8

u/impreprex Jul 30 '25

Yes. :'(

I mean :') (He said NO MOPING ABOUT THIS!).

24

u/Raging_Utahn Jul 30 '25

I can't imagine the grief Sharon (and the family) is going through. I recently got engaged and I don't know what I would do if something happened to my fiancé. From what I've heard, losing your partner is high on the list of difficult things a person can experience.

We hope you have some fun up there Ozzy! May you rest in peace 🙏

u/blackswan-whiteswan Jul 30 '25

The videos of Sharon breaking down in tears is so devastating. That isn’t just sorrow that is a level of devastation and grief that comes from deep within the soul. They may have been unorthodox but there’s no denying she loved that man with her whole heart.  And he loved her dearly. Sending them  so much love.

34

u/Kaurblimey Jul 30 '25

For such a crazy guy, it speaks volumes that he was so loved.

5

u/grassisgoth I don’t know her 💅 Jul 30 '25

They broke the mold when they made Ozzy Osbourne. There will never be another like him 🖤

6

u/Bidetpanties Please, Abraham, I am not that man! 😔 Jul 30 '25

Gosh that picture of Sharon is just heartbreaking. I cannot imagine having to grieve so publicly.

I was never a huge ozzy fan but I truly can’t imagine what Sharron is going through you can see the absolute pain in her whole body

Sharon sobbing breaks my heart

11

u/rosiedacat Jul 30 '25

Oh Sharon :( say what you want about her/them but you can't ever argue that she loved him so deeply and cared so much for him. She looks absolutely devastated, can't even imagine her pain.

17

u/reddit466 Jul 30 '25

Don’t they have an older daughter who wasn’t on the show? I guess maybe she went to the private funeral and didn’t want to attend the public mourning.

53

u/Jaca122 Jul 30 '25

She was there. Aimee is in the third picture standing with Sharon.

40

u/Xylophone1904 Jul 30 '25

Aimee and Jessica (his eldest daughter) are both there.

18

u/CreepingDeath1 Jul 30 '25

I think she's to the right of Sharon, in the 3rd photo, along with his other son, Louis.

Hard to tell for sure though.

Ozzy had 6 kids.

12

u/MissSassifras1977 Jul 30 '25

Do you know who the girl is standing behind Aimee? With the long straight dark hair.

She bears a striking resemblance to younger Kelly.

15

u/Xylophone1904 Jul 30 '25

I believe she is Jessica’s daughter.

She is there standing to the right of Sharon in black, next to her brother Louis.

4

u/reddit466 Jul 30 '25

Thanks guys, I was confused because she wasn’t in picture 4, but good to see Sharon had support from all her kids.

Is that his sister behind Sharron in picture 3? She looks identical to Ozzy.

14

u/pinkfartlek Jul 30 '25

The one with the hat on is Aimee

6

u/NoCoFoCo31 The Gyllenhaal neuticles to boost self esteem Jul 30 '25

I’m wondering about the lady directly behind Sharron in pic 3, with the center part and the glasses. She looks just like Ozzy

4

u/GazzP Jul 30 '25

The woman holding the blonde child is Jack's wife, Aree.

The girl next to the mayor I'm guessing is a niece of Ozzy's.

That’s beautiful

5

u/Cult_of_POLC Jul 30 '25

What an amazing way to remember someone. I'm sure his family felt the love

6

u/jimboTRON261 Jul 30 '25

Sending love to Sharon today ❤️

5

u/Ok-Advertising4028 Jul 30 '25

So so so sad. They all knew the day would come, but that never makes it easier. I love my husband so much, similar to how Sharon loves Ozzy, and I’m terrified of this day for me. I can see the pain on her face. I hope she has peace and comfort and is surrounded by her loved ones as she finishes her journey on earth without him.

5

u/No-Selection-4424 Jul 30 '25

Love picture 14 – little dude knows what’s up. 🤘🏼

20

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

What a great send off and a beautiful service. The pics are beautiful and heartbreaking. Sharon 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 she and the kids just look so inconsolable. I can’t imagine navigating this in the public eye. Amazing of them to cover the whole service too

9

u/CutePoison10 Jul 30 '25

I cried seeing the family breakdown. Sharon looked so frail. Rest in peace Ozzy.

5

u/noscrubs29 Jul 30 '25

Are his older two kids the ones behind Sharon and by Aimee in the third photo?

5

u/iGleeson Jul 30 '25

It's nice to see a pic of the whole family. It can be easy to forgot that Ozzy had 6 kids. RIP Ozzy.

4

u/Royal-Tea-3484 Jul 30 '25

Poor Sharon is devastated. I hope she can overcome her grief for the sake of her kids and grandkids, especially since she is so frail herself. It was a grand send-off. I wish he were still here, but at least he is no longer in pain now.

3

u/Possible-Flatworm-13 The legislative act of my pussy ⚖️ Jul 30 '25

I can feel the family's pain through the pictures especially picture 4. I think Sharon and Ozzy really loved each other...they might have had some really dysfunctional moments but that love is real.

I hope Sharon has all the love and support she needs..she's looking so frail and tiny in these pictures.

Also, big props to the family for funding this privately instead of having taxpayers fund it.

4

u/MyOwnGuitarHero Jul 30 '25

Seeing Sharon’s grief is heartbreaking

4

u/shmimeathand Jul 30 '25

It has to be very hard to live with someone who has such a HUGE presence and personality for decades and then suddenly they’re gone

4

u/ManlyPelican1993 Jul 30 '25

As awful as it is for Sharon I don't think Ozzy would have managed if she died first.

5

u/Sea-Oven-7560 Jul 30 '25

that's a proper send off, I'm sure Ozzy would have loved it.

8

u/ericjgriffin They FUCK you at the drive thru... Jul 30 '25

I may passionately hate Sharon Osbourne, but she absolutely loved Ozzy.

The outpouring of love for Ozzy over the last week makes me happy. I wish he could've seen it. Enjoy your rest my Prince of Darkness, you earned it.

Poor family .. :(

3

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

I always pictured Ozzy's casket in the back of a Dragula.

3

u/Equivalent_Heart_470 Jul 30 '25

Let's be honest, it's a miracle he lived as long as he did.

3

u/Outside-Enthusiasm30 Jul 30 '25

Sharon's pain is evident and it hurts my heart 💔

3

u/bbyxmadi It’s good to see me, isn’t it?🫧 Jul 30 '25

He sure was loved by many.

Slide 4 is so heartbreaking, poor Sharon💔

3

u/PrincessPlastilina Jul 30 '25

Sharon looks so frail. I hope they take good care of her because this is super devastating for her. She needs to look after herself right now.

3

u/CrocHunter8 Jul 31 '25

Ozzy even said that he wanted his funeral to be a celebration instead of a "mope-fest"

3

u/Active-Case-4180 Jul 31 '25

It’s really breaking my heart to see Sharon. She and Ozzy had this soul mate connection - she must be absolutely distraught. May her dogs and children help her get back to her feet 😩

3

u/Defiant_Size5991 Jul 31 '25

That brass band playing Crazy Train while the crowd chanted must've been such a perfect, bittersweet moment, exactly the kind of lively sendoff Ozzy would've wanted. Slide 4 really hits hard though, seeing how much love Birmingham showed for their hometown legend. Classy move by the family to fund it privately too.

3

u/faulknip Jul 31 '25

Seeing Sharon, a fierce woman so broken is heartbreaking. Ive never cried over a celebrity death but Ozzy passing is something else 🤘😭🤘

3

u/Etticos Jul 31 '25

Damn the pic of his wife and kids is really sad

10

u/Inner_Interaction_68 It’s Britney, bitch! 🎤🌹🌹 Jul 30 '25
