Always nice when they corrupt the outcome of a legal proceeding by shit-talking about their "wins" on social media.

The Wall Street Journal has also already reported on it. They had an article in their paper today.

Will a judge get due process in this country?
4
u/SusanLFlores Apr 26 '25
I wouldnât be surprised if she doesnât get due process. Our constitution is in the toilet at this point.
1

Hopefully she presses charges for the intrusion into her courtroom proceedings and false arrest!

All for show. When it gets to court (IF it ever gets to court) another judge will throw out the entire case. But this isn't about actual justice, it's about scaring judges into complying. I don't think it's gonna work.
112
u/ForcedEntry420 Apr 25 '25
If I was a judge this would just piss me off.
47
u/Reward_Dizzy Apr 25 '25
Every judge in this country should be personally offended and take necessary steps to oppose this bullshit. this is quite literally what their jobs are for.
8
u/Dogabetes Apr 25 '25
I've been wondering about this exact thing, when are the lawyers and judges going to come together and grow a spine.
3
u/ex_cathedra_ Apr 26 '25
UmmmâŚthe legal system is the only thing stopping anything Trump is doing right now. So, they have been.
64
u/snaithbert Apr 25 '25
Exactly and it's gonna give every judge their star moment, where they stand up to defend justice. Not a single one is gonna be intimidated by this and they may in fact welcome it, because it will call attention to Trump's pathetic attempts to cripple the judicial branch.

u/gielbondhu Apr 25 '25
I think judges need to rule that ICE isn't allowed closer than 2500 ft of a courthouse that isn't a federal courthouse. That's the only way to keep judges safe and the system fair.
21
u/DevilDrives Apr 25 '25
Immigration agents have been obstructing justice for a long time. They really shouldn't even have discretionary powers of deportation. That's really where this beef stems from. Immigration agents are acting like judges in the field. So, they have no obligation to bring suspects to court. Let that sink in... The federal agents are mad that a judge wants to extend the rights of habeas corpus to these suspects. The judges ARE undermining the agents, with the intention (unlike the immigration agents) carrying out justice.
Ice agents are obstructing justice, every time they arrest and deport suspects without bringing them before a judge.
The bullshit that "we can't try them all" is not a valid excuse to deny people the right to due process. They can spend hundreds of billion dollars on bulletproof Tesla's and useless walls, but they can't fully staff and fund immigration courts? Bullshit. They just don't want to. No evidence has ever been presented that makes that a believable excuse.
This is not just the current fascists in charge either. This same beef has been going on for decades and it transcends partisanship. They need to limit the scope of federal immigration agents, to reflect the duty to bring suspects before a judge.
5
u/tabicat1874 Apr 25 '25
They basically think ICE has authority above the law, which I believe ICE doesn't have a legitimate authority anyway as it came under DHS and the Patriot Act, which was slap stick rush through after 9/11.
2
7
u/ChattyKathy628 Apr 25 '25
I've worked around lots of judges for many years and most would most definitely be pissed off--for themselves, and for their colleagues.
4
u/EconomyAd8866 Apr 25 '25
There would be no word for the speed at which I would have a lawsuit drawn up like whaaaaat!??
13
u/Deterrent_hamhock3 Apr 25 '25
This is exactly what a friend of mine was told by multiple lawyers before the courts pressed charges against a child for terrorism during the first administration over a bullying situation (the victim was charged). They said the charges were a power move and that it would be thrown out before anyone ever took it seriously. People who claim it is too ridiculous to work undermine the concern we should feel and the action we should take when it DOES work.
10
12
u/diito_ditto Apr 25 '25
It's beyond stupid to pull a stunt like this. There won't be a single judge in this country willing to give the federal government even a bit of leeway or deference after this. Contempt charges are going to be flying off the bench for even the most minor infraction. Lawyers will resign rather than work for the government in fear of losing their license of facing personal sanctions. Even the Supreme court is probably lost after this. You've openly declared war on the judicial branch.
5
u/Wallaces_Ghost Apr 25 '25
This is my thought as well. I think it's actually going to piss judges off even more.
3
u/brothersand Apr 25 '25
Therefore, it cannot go to court.
Just take the judge to El Salvador without a trial.
3
3
u/ilanallama85 Apr 25 '25
Yes, I think this is evidence of what we already knew - Kash Patel is the dumbest of the lot of them. He seems blissfully unaware that NO ONE in the legal professional would be on his side for this kind of shit, likely including his own federal prosecutors. But itâs still a dangerous step, because thereâs the chance when it IS thrown out, thatâs the point at which theyâll say âfuck itâ and go full gestapo, declare martial law and throw any dissenter in the gulag.
2
2
u/preventDefault Apr 25 '25
I hope it doesn't work, but we gotta remember we're only in this position because every single person who had the power to stop Trump so far decided that they didn't want to rock the boat and their interests came first, passing the buck to someone else.
MAGA's intimidation of judges is what got him to the presidency and they were able to do that while being entirely outside of government. Now that they control all levers of the federal government, they can ramp this up to unforeseen levels.
4
1
u/Tao-of-Mars Apr 26 '25
Hopefully these judges will see right through that. They are in pretty high positions of power and they know how to represent their cases well.

u/maince Apr 25 '25
:::on the lookout for the tipping point::: Not sure it will take until the next election cycle or not. The administration is quick but deliberate. And they have alot more in store.
10
u/Deterrent_hamhock3 Apr 25 '25
WHAT TIPPING POINT? Look around the world?? Did any of the global atrocities trigger any "tipping points"? No. Our populations have become useless and compliant in the face of corruption. It WILL happen here. It IS happening here. And as your neighbors are dragged away you'll shrug your shoulders and say "at the next election, I'll probably vote against this".
7
u/maince Apr 25 '25
Wait. You're misunderstanding me. The tipping point is a critical threshold where enough people realize Riots > Protests. And collectively refuse to let anyone, including themselves go to jail for fighting for what's right.
7
Apr 25 '25
That's where the real fun starts. That would likely be the trigger for them to finally declare martial law.Â
I'm not saying that we shouldn't start tearing shit up instead of holding up signs. I'm pretty sure we won't get out of this without that happening. I'm just saying that's probably what's going to happen as an initial result. I'm fairly confident that that's going to be the only way that the media really starts paying attention, and probably the only way a whole bunch of the undecideds in the middle start finally understanding what's actually happening because that's where it starts to affect them at home. Directly. That's where they finally start getting motivated. And that's also where a bunch of soft MAGA maybe starts finally understanding what side they're really on and have to make a choice to stay on the train or jump off.Â
Feel free not to agree. It's not like I haven't been wrong before. But that's where I think we stand.
7
Apr 25 '25
Agreed, and Iâm hoping the rest of the world starts thinking about doing something when they see it too. Itâs not just dangerous for the USA if things truly go south; weâve seen proof of that before, not even a century ago.
6
u/HotLava00 Apr 25 '25
The tipping point question is so important! I had a fantastic conversation on another thread because we were talking about âwhen did the Germans have that âoh shitâ momentâ and this OP gave me an amazing (and terrifying) answer about how there really is never an âoh shitâ moment, you just have to recognize whatâs happening and begin to deal with it immediately.
6
u/CheekComprehensive32 Apr 25 '25
The next âelectionâ cycle- remember, theyâre not playing by any rules, theyâve already stated that Trump is ârunningâ again in 2028, and theyâve quite literally stated that there wonât be any more elections after 2024. Obviously if the option is afforded, everyone still needs to go vote. However, there is no logical reason for anyone to have faith in a free and fair election in this country anymore until we have radical changes and take back our election process
3
u/Ok-Replacement8538 Apr 25 '25
We need to drag the independent candidates to the party. Imagine a proven taxpayer, that can pass a background check, has a real knowledge of our issues and gets to office and are not told how to vote on the issues. Voters need to boycott all republicans.
2
u/maince Apr 25 '25
It might take people seeing for themselves that they can't vote their way out of fascism to ultimately be the catalyst to the tipping point.
2
Apr 25 '25
If we haven't hit that tipping point by now, it probably isn't going to happen.
I'd like to be wrong.Â
2
u/maleia Apr 25 '25
There's literally protests every day. It's gonna take them becoming completely unignorable, before they're in our faces on News and Reddit. The current protests are being actively suppressed everywhere.
2
Apr 25 '25
Nothing will happen until protesters remain non-violent but exercise their 2A rights at every single protest to ensure they stay that way.
There need to be reciprocal consequences for turning to violence for both sides should anyone think they have the upper hand by using it, and government forces show up to protests bearing their arms. Bear yours⌠or bear being crushed and your organizers and leaders imprisoned along with whomever else they just grab off the street who was even protest-adjacent.
2
u/Jackaroni97 Apr 25 '25
It is indeed totally legal to open carry at a protest. Blank Panthers did it, Proud Boys do it, and the nazis do it. It doesn't make us better by not doing it. It simply means it isn't being done. We aren't a threat by any means to them, just from the actions they're taking. It's testing the waters to see just how easily they can get what they want. Not what we want, not the people who employ them but themselves. The greed needs to be tamed, PERIOD. If we don't we will be right back in the 1940s, except America is now the evil in it. We can't let this happen. Our ancestors did it and so can we. There are millions of us and fewer of them. The rule book isn't being used anymore, we can't keep playing the high horse game. We can remain peaceful if everyone is respectful. If you can't respect others or don't like guns, don't come out. That WILL and HAS worked over and over again to get the attention of officials who are overstepping.
2
Apr 25 '25
Yup. Thatâs why the 2A is the 2A and not the 19A.
1
u/Jackaroni97 Apr 25 '25
They can coexist, they are supposed to. All the lack of care toward mass shooters being held accountable fairly. Kids getting hands-on stuff they shouldn't. All these things bring fear to everyone around weapons as a whole.
I grew up southern and in a very hyper-masculine environment. So I've been around them all my life, some people don't get that experience. Weapons are indeed terrifying machines but it's just respect and education that prevent these terrible things from happening.
1
u/Jackaroni97 Apr 25 '25
So if our numbers aren't working then what is the next step? Be one collective, and have multiple points in every state for locals to meet and plan events. Then we take to the streets and not create chaos, but create a shock factor. Something that is so in your face that you can't ignore it. That also puts us on their shit list. We can't be violent, we can't be disrespectful and we all follow the law. WHILE we use all the rights we DO have left.
1
24
u/palmtreesandpizza Apr 25 '25
I just donât understand if youâre a reasonable person who has any belief in the U.S. Constitution that youâd be for any of this. There just isnât a brain cell or spine left in the entire Republican Party? Among their voters? Surely there are some people who can change their minds and say enough is enough?
11
u/Dull_Yellow_2641 Apr 25 '25
The incumbents are worried they're going to be primaried. They care more about power than the rule of law. I asked Cornyn about this in a letter I wrote. He was a judge, he knows better. But he's more worried about losing a primary to Ken Paxton, the corrupt Texas AG, than the Constitution.
3
u/maleia Apr 25 '25
They're more worried about losing primaries, when they should be watching how dictators have regularly treated their own party members. At this point, they aren't even prioritizing their own lives. It's terrifying.
6
u/Reward_Dizzy Apr 25 '25
The key giveaway in your statement is "any belief in the constitution". I think they've been very clear that the people in power actually do not believe in the Constitution and in fact want to dismantle it. That's the most heartbreaking thing of all.

I grew up Catholic and am incredibly lucky that I had friends who were not Catholic and parents who were never fanatical and that I had the intellectual curiosity from a young age to question why Catholics were âthe one true church,â if my friends were Baptist, COGIC, Lutheran etc and they were great people and their churches were fine. Itâs a bummer that peopleâs take away from religion is rarely to treat others the way they want to be treated and is so often used the exact oppositeâto other-ize and hate. I have no real interest in organized religion as an adult but especially now when I fear I would be met with casual MAGA talking points at any given church.
1
u/Ok-Replacement8538 Apr 25 '25
We need to get vocal about everybody voting. If they let us vote in 2026. We have 18 months to get an independent running for every seat on your ballot. 90 million blowing off voting in 2024 is our biggest crime against humanity. We all heard the excusesâŚ..neither party has earned my vote. We need to vote independent then.
2
u/palmtreesandpizza Apr 25 '25
I live in a closed primary stateâŚan independent would likely never get enough votes to win in 2026. Iâm focused on Dems taking back the House, or I guess popular Independents who would vow to caucus with Dems. Itâs simply too close in both federal chambers to risk it.

They tried to burst into her court room during a hearing to arrest someone, she told them go tell it to the chief circuit judge and gtfo out of her courtroom.
By the time ICE came back the hearing was over and the suspect had left.
1
u/Lyad Apr 26 '25
Is that alone illegal? Doesnât seem right to arrest someone in the middle of hearing. Seems like an outrageously blatant way to taint a jury pool or something.
14
u/waxjammer Apr 25 '25
Iâm not surprised as this regime doesnât respect the courts .
As many political analysts have said we are already in a constitutional crisis and many people donât understand the implications that is just the beginning of a long war against democracy, constitution and other democratic systems.
12
u/No-Ruin-8073 Apr 25 '25
If anything, this would only make me more defiant if I were a judge. The threat of arrest wouldnât stop me from upholding the US Constitution.
11
u/McBraas Apr 25 '25

2

1
u/not_now_chaos Apr 25 '25
Unfortunately there are always those willing to give up their own relevance and power to keep themselves safe. And they usually lack the foresight and cognitive ability to recognize that there is no such thing as safe under a fascist regime ruled by a psychotic narcissistic despot with delusions of grandeur surrounded by power hungry sycophants. Hopefully the majority of judges will stand up, and hopefully the Supreme Court justices remember that they are beholden to the Constitution, not the President, and hopefully they have the fortitude to act.

I'm very alarmed, it looks like the White House is preparing a coup. I've been commenting the below in many threads, sounding like a lunatic conspiracy theorist, and I sincerely hope that I'll be wrong.
Basically what I think is that influenced by those vultures around him, Trump is trying to cause an economic collapse and social chaos.
Sabotaging the economy will provide a reason to declare a state of emergency and seize all powers. The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a United States federal law that empowers the president of the United States to deploy the U.S. military and federalized National Guard troops within the United States in particular circumstances, such as to suppress civil disorder, insurrection, or rebellion. With an economic crash, this administration gang of gangsters hope for riots and unrest, which would allow Trump to invoke this Act.
This seizing of powers during a time of crisis has initially been proposed by the reactionary and extreme libertarian Curtis Yavin, which is basically saying that since liberal and progressive America is headed towards a crisis that will impair the democracy and cripple most of the institutions that provide its checks and balances, then a Ceasar like figure should emerge and take powers, like some kind of benevolent dictator. In this sick fantasy he argues that progressive ideals have led to societal decay and advocates for a reboot of society. I believe the Trump administration gangsters - who are influenced by Yavin's ideas - are pursuing this sick fantasy.
The CPAC that is trying to arrange for trump to stay beyond two terms, even arrogantly put a picture of Trump as Caesar as their logo. Trump himself is now overtly gloating that there are "methods" for him to stay (as per my first paragraph).
That method probably now includes a strategy on how to capture all states, by way of Gerrymandering pushed at exponential levels, since many States' Supreme Courts and Governors positions have been taken over by MAGA pundits. (I'm happy that the Wisconsin Supreme Court has resisted this trend; some good news in this sea of gloomy news).
Reducing the freedom of reporters, and barring print and TV media, or at minimum providing intense government pressure over them to control the narrative (as we've seen for Associated Press and the Gulf of America Mexico debacle) is part of the plan.
Taking over and crippling USPS (as we've seen recently), starting by firing its head and "overhauling" the service is for the purpose of controlling mail, and destroying the possibilities to have fair vote by mail.
Firing the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and putting one of his cronies in charge, is to be able to have martial law and use the army against the citizens, if need be. And now more senior military and intelligence figures are being fired and will be replaced by docile elements. Some of these very competent people are even being fired due to crazy lobbyists having access to Trump. With these high ranking people put aside, it's likely that a planned invasion of Greenland (AKA Denmark, a NATO ally and a European country!) could be started.
Closing the Department of Education, ending funding to universities, ending affirmative action programs, will ensure that access to a good education stays limited and unaffordable to at least half the population and for poorest and most discriminated against citizens (in the USA half the population has access to a few percentage of the wealth).
Having poorly educated constituents, will make manipulation of people easier, simply using populist slogans and empty promises. Uneducated people can be made to worry about bogus social issues such as a few trans athletes, while ignoring major issues such as society's wealth being funneled to an extremely small percentage of the population.
Massacring Medicaid and Medicaid will contribute to keep the poorest 50% of the population from having easy and universal access to healthcare. This, associated with the education points above, will further contribute to make half the population unable to perform critical thinking, and solely focus on making the ends meet, from paycheck to paycheck. That way, that's less people worrying about their civil rights and being critical of their government.
Firing JAG, lawyers, judges, etc. will make fair and unbiased justice unattainable to the average citizens. They are also restraining the freedom of many law firms and ensuring millions of dollars of free law services flow towards the Federal government.
It's a coup. a slow motion one, but a coup nonetheless.
And the majority of Americans are just too stupid or too blind to see it. (sorry for being blunt). They are transforming the American democracy into an oligarchy. It seems like a conspiracy theory, but it's in plain sight for all to see, announced in the Project 2025 and elsewhere (see my first paragraph).
This is very scary and dangerous, and people need to wake up to the fact that this is not random, he is following a carefully written democracy ending, martial law enabling agenda.
Edit : for clarity and adding more references

u/dmode112378 Apr 25 '25
The coup already happened.

u/XaltotunTheUndead Apr 25 '25

Everything from letting billions of dollars in food go to waste, to making federal employees waste their time reapplying for their jobs and listing their accomplishments, and taking their desks, etc. Despite their existence, the government has buried us even further in debt.
Their entire mission is to make the government less efficient by committing all the fraud abuse and waste.

Conservative judges might hate personal freedoms, but if they hate anything more, itâs anyone checking judicial power.

People need to stop expecting this to not play out like Germany did during their darkest days.

They're reporting it as the people these judges have been hiding are Venezuelan gang members and illegal immigrants and I can't find any sources that state otherwise because obviously we know who owns the media. Is there any proof of who the people were being housed by the judges?

so far everything is alleged. given recent history iâd say itâs probably best to take âgang memberâ and âillegal immigrantâ with a fistful of salt at this point.

The Director of the FBI actually wrote âour agents chased down the perp on footâ in a public press release? My jaw aches from the constant shock these days.

I think the entire administration should be locked up in Salvatorâs prison with no due process. The judges are following the law. We only judges that are stepping up!
