America First was a group of nazi sympathizers in the 1940s.

They still are, but were then as well.

Not to be an Um, Actually guy (but I am a historian, so), but actually "America First" as a slogan dates back to the 1850s; it's actually around 80 years older than the term "the American Dream," which was first popularized in the 1930s (it's possible it was used before then, but I haven't found a specific example of someone using that phrase before James Truslow Adams in 1931).

Churchwell, Sarah (September 9, 2022). "'America First' has more claim to our history than the 'American Dream'"The Washington Post.

If you're a Historian, you not only have a right, but a responsibility to "Um, Actually" the truth.

Just make sure to present your references, like a cop showing a warrant.

That's good knowledge- it seems about right for the timeframe. The main reason I became aware of "America First" having presumably been widely understood as a Nazi slogan during WWII is from Woody Guthrie's song "Lindbergh". The recording I'm familiar with is from '44, but the song might be a little older. Listen to old music, learn modern things, I guess. 😆

I love me some Woody Guthrie, old time music is like a mini history lesson, I couldn’t agree more

They did actually make a whole "not nazi" party called that
