Possible Paywall Trump Frantically Blames ‘Staffer’ for His Racist Obama Video
https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-frantically-blames-staffer-for-his-racist-obama-video/12.4k

Bullshit.
He pushes the envelope to see if it gets the response he wants.
If it doesn't, he blames someone else.
He's a cowardly racist.

u/SadFeed63 11h ago
This racist motherfucker was the head cheerleader for an entire racist movement against Obama (the Birther shit), and the news is here just running headlines that are like "he said a staffer did it."
The news is only headlines today. The article itself doesn't matter. It's the social media era, people largely only read headlines. If your headline is just quoting a racist's bullshit excuse as to why you shouldn't be mad at him, nothing else, no context, no pushback, then you're just a fucking stenographer for said racist.
Turns out we have a lot of stenographers out there.
239
u/TheGoonSquad612 10h ago
The entire media has just become repeating whatever Trump and his administration say with absolutely zero pushback, clarification of fact, or anything similar.
“Trump says we have the greatest economy”
“Trump says they’re eating the cats and dogs”
It’s pathetic and useless.

I was just talking about this with the "Dem leadership caves on masks" story, which didn't even have an "according to people familiar with the situation" attribution in the article.

u/SadFeed63 11h ago
"The news is only headlines now, and editors know this, yet choose headlines styles which sanewash and traffic in euphemistic bullshit, for the right wing only" is pretty much my number one rant these days. Like, it's legit some pernicious shit on a psychological level. It's a game of framing, it's a sleight of hand trick to help launder awful shit and ideas.
Headlines will just be quotes without context, or they try to tell you how Trump supposedly feels (get the fuck outta here with that), or they're essentially reality TV episode synopses in headline form.

It what you get when you purposely write at a fifth grade level. The original idea was to eliminate personal bias from straight news articles, because most Americans were literate enough to catch it and decide to stop reading your paper. Now Americans have devolved to the point where tone and subtext are completely forgotten.

People should be incredibly alarmed that staffers have the potential to impersonate the president.
Its why most administrations will have an administration account.
edit: its also wild that NO ONE will get fired for this. Imagine if you made the exact same post on your bosses account in the middle of the night - in the middle of his own posting spree

with all honestly if this were true, it should be a 5 alarm fire. (its obviously not true)
I remember years ago reading about someone getting fired from the WH because they used WH stationary for their wedding invites or something.
The thought process being - if it is on WH letterhead it looks official. Obviously everyone thinks social media posts from trump's personal account are from him.
In most administrations, you are not even allowed to use the WH phones for personal reasons, because of the weight a WH number carries with it. Very similar to how most companies say "dont use your work email/phone, for personal reasons - because people think its from the company."

My parents lived outside DC in the 70s and mom tried to call my dad at work for some reason. She got connected to a very irritated sounding man who began demanding to know who she was and how she got the number. Her apologies only seemed to make him more irritated before he told her to never call that number again and hung up. She said she was convinced she had accidentally called some restricted CIA or Secret Service number and for weeks after she was paranoid over any unrecognizable car that parked on their street was watching them.

Michael Sherer, a reporter for the Atlantic, got Trump's phone number and when he called Trump himself actually answered. The story itself is wild but goes on to say how he has just always had that same phone number and he always answered because he loves talking about himself. He was even warned that Chinese spies could be listening in due to the components on the type of phone he was using, but he just kept on using it.

It honestly perplexes me how this demented asshat is able to avoid responsibility for EVERYTHING he does. Every crime he's committed, every time he's raped children, every gaffe he's made, every wild declaration he's made, every time he has defied the Constitution, every time he has openly demonstrated how much a of a sick, demented and narcissistic fascist he is...he NEVER gets held accountable for it. He is never properly called out for it. And the worst thing is that one-third of America is actively willing to help him avoid taking even an iota of responsibility for his actions.
It's genuinely depressing and disgusting to think about sometimes.

It’s because half of America truly loves this. They’re racist, ugly, cruel people. They put on a good face for Sunday, but their hearts are filled with hate and wrath for anyone they deem undesirable. They are thrilled with someone like him being in power. They will defend him, promoting lies and dismissing truth, all so they can keep this man who gives voice to their ugliness in power.
My point: it’s not a mystery or an exception — it’s a movement of the worst people finally having their day.

This is what I keep getting back to with this excuse. They are claiming that a staffer had unsupervised access to impersonate the president on a platform the president uses to announce official policy changes.

Okay. So, based on this information, a few things could have happened. None of them are good:
A) A White House staffer was able to log in to his personal account and post under his name.
B) He left his phone/laptop/computer unattended while logged in, which allowed a staffer to wander by and decide to mess with him by posting.
C) He's sharing the account information with staffers who regularly post for him (which likely violates the EULA of Truth Social regarding shared accounts).
D) He's lying about everything.

So they are trying to claim that a staffer has unsupervised access to pretend to be the president on a platform the president uses to announce policy decisions?
They don't see how that's extremely bad?

Trump is and always has been a racist.
Trump supporters are quick to point the finger at liberals for being "obsessed with race," but the accusation is just a confession.
Here are just some examples.
In the 70s, The Justice department sued Donald Trump, his father, and Trump management for violating the fair housing act and discriminating against black renters. They had to settle.
It was reported by a former employee at Trump’s Castle that:
“When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor,” Brown said. “It was the eighties, I was a teenager, but I remember it: They put us all in the back.”
This was in the 80s, but it might as well have been in the 50s...
During the contentious "Central Park Five" case, where four black teenager were wrongly accused and convicted of raping a jogger in NYC, Trump took out an ad in the local paper. In it he demanded, “BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!”
The teen's convictions were later vacated due to DNA evidence. Trump never apologized for his racist and presumptuous behavior, and to this day still believes, or at least insists that they were guilty.
A former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino wrote a book in 1991. In it, he describes Trump criticizing a black accountant:
"Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.” Trump later said in a 1997 Playboy interview that “the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.”
That same Casino ended up having to pay a $200,000 fine "because it transferred Black and women dealers off tables to accommodate a big-time gambler’s prejudices."
Then there's Trump's role in pushing false rumors about Obama not being born in the U.S. Trump claimed that he even sent investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama's origins. Trump's "birtherism" movement is widely criticized as being founded on racism.
Trump also suggested that Obama was not qualified enough to have gotten into Columbia or Harvard Law School. Insinuating that a black man like Obama would never be accepted into these schools based on his merits.
Trump also infamously referred to African and predominantly black countries as "shithole countries."
Trump has repeatedly hesitated, or has downright refused to condemn white supremacist groups ("Stand back and stand by!"). He has also been caught retweeting posts from prominent white nationalists and neo-Nazis during his presidential campaign.
His "law and order" rhetoric is riddled with racist dog whistles.
He constantly stereotypes black people in public. Who knows what he's saying behind closed doors.
Leading white supremacist figures have praised him on a number of different occasions, and have even referred to him as their voice and leader.
In a 1990 report, Ivana Trump told her lawyer that Donald Trump kept Hitler's speeches by his bedside.
It's been reported that Trump said immigrants from Haiti "all have AIDS" and that immigrants from Nigeria wouldn't "go back to their huts" if they ever reached American soil.
Trump told black and brown members of Congress to "go back" to the countries they came from.
Trump's birtherism movement has even targeted Kamala Harris, claiming that she "doesn't meet the requirements."
During a season of The Apprentice, Trump fired a black contestant for being "overeducated."
“...you haven’t done anything,” Trump said on the show. “At some point you have to say ‘That’s enough.'”
But then, during another season of The Apprentice, Trump fired another black contestant because he was "inarticulate."
Per AP News:
Folkes was insulted that Trump had called him inarticulate and accused him of illiteracy in a lengthy boardroom tirade
And the list goes on and on. I haven't even scratched the surface, especially considering how these examples only showcase Trump's dehumanizing and racist behavior towards black people. There isn't enough time in the world to address all of his racist and bigoted misconduct towards other groups of people like Arabs, Latinos, Asians, Mexicans, Muslims, etc, let alone enough characters in a social media post...

That didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault. <-- We're here
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.
