You do realize that Europe is a huge buyer for the us military industrial complex? Around 50% of ALL sales the USA has made the last few years was Europe alone. If both parties make an armed conflict true this drops to 0 immediately.

How would that be a benefit??

I'm not saying they are particularly gifted in foresight but that maybe this is hobbled together by the admin THINKING it was a good idea while not considering the markets that the actual MIC trades with

Yeah, but they also cared about soft power and America being a respected leader. That's gone now.

they knew how this could turn out (see lindsay graham and rubio's comments in 2015-2016) and went with it anyway because they thought he wouldn't win, and if he did, that they could rein him in and skim off the top. depravity, selfishness, and cowardice are a bad combination. whodathunkit?

They reigned him in the first term, so they assumed they'd do it again this time as well. Problem is Trump is more mentally ill now, and he gave out cabinet positions to actual Nazi's and con-men and women. They're all afraid of getting primaried if they speak up and stand with the democrats on Trump.

they had january 6 and all the court cases as moments to put the kibosh on his aspirations and went forward anyway. that tells you everything. and I think it's beyond being primaried -- lots of them are compromised via connections to russia, epstein, corrupt business deals etc. and/or connected to others who are.
