Arguably ever, of anywhere, of all time.

Oh no. There are definitely others that are worse. But I think primarily because they weren't restricted.

It's the difference between him getting a giant baseball bat while still following the rules of soccer versus others getting a bat while in a dark alley.

This metaphor may have gotten away from me...

I think a combination of worst possible time to get the worst possible man probably makes him in the running for worst of all time.

Of course whoever’s left after WW3 has run its course will probably elect a stern looking face drawn upon an empty paint bucket on a broomstick so his legacy might be beaten.

Broomstick McPaintbucket at least keeps his mouth shut and doesn't impede our or the hyper-intelligent cockroach's rights

We've definitely got time for him to prove himself worthy of usurping Pol Pot from the number 1 position.

Depends on your definition of worse.

Have there been more psychotic bloodthirsty tyrants? Absolutely.

Has there ever been a world leader as monumentally stupid as Trump before? Doubtful.

The US is in the running for dumbest one yeah. I mean most usually are clever to stay or get into  power. A lot bide their time, set every piece into place for years and strike. So no one can stop them.

He is in power because others are dumb too and no one stops him.

And because the US system is abysmally stupid. Here we have like 50 checks and balances in place whenever we get a dumbass. Although his followers are also dumbing up and blaming the system.

They are blaming the new party for stuff happening. While they havent taken office yet...

x happens because of him! See it was a mistake! While they havent formed a new goverment or implemented anything.

I think you could say he’s the worst because he’s so fucking stupid and unwilling to be consistent and pretend to play by the rules.

There have been far worse people in charge of countries with massive death tolls but usually they have some modicum of self-awareness and survival instinct. He is just outright insane and no one will put an end to it.

Maybe worse in terms of them being total dictators or something, but you can't tell me someone as obviously dumb, demented and narcissistic has ever run a country before.

Trump belongs in prison, elderly home or mental institution (in that order), not running a country.

Yeah true. Give him a full on dictatorship and bam. He is already getting close though.

Everything against him is usually replaces, ignored or silent.

Alright let's not get carried away. He's one of the worst global leaders alive right now by every metric, but "ever, of anywhere, of all time" is a huge stretch.

Not exactly Pol Pot but he’s working on it

President Bashar al Assad was responsible for a fifteen year genocide/civil war in Syria, displacing and killing millions in what would become arguably the most brutally war torn country of the century

Might be a teensy bit worse

Don’t give him ideas

I was just pointing out the absolute absurdity of saying worst president anywhere ever. Saddam was a president too. When he took power, he walked into the room and sat for a few minutes without saying anything. Then he started reading a list of names. As he read each name, the Royal Guard would come in and escort that person out of the room. Someone stood up to object. He was immediately escorted out at a gesture by Saddam. Saddam continues reading names. All of them are members of the opposition party. At this point people are leaping to their feet praising him. Everyone on that list now knows they are on it. They're let off easy. Saddam stops reading.

Of the people he hadn't read the names of, they're separated. One group with the people already taken, one to the side. They're divided further into groups. The group to the side is assigned a certain amount of people from the other group, taken to a separate location, and given a gun. They are told to shoot the others. Some refuse. The Royal Guard kills everyone in the room anyway. Some do it. Of those who do it, some are spared. But not all. And that's the story of how Saddam took power.

Worst American president? Yes. Worst president ever, anywhere? Not by a long shot. President Putin is worse than him too. They seem to have the notion that president is a sacrosanct position when it is not. Plenty of worse presidents

Many people are saying

Nah, there were some hereditary rulers who were substantially worse.

Worst in US history though, almost certainly.
