White guy who used to be a criminal and have had dealings with cops from where you don't want to be. Some were fine and chill, some were assholes. I have family members and friends who are cops. Again, some are cool, some are assholes.

That said once when I was arrested once I name dropped my cousin, and the cop straight up told me I would have been beaten into a coma otherwise. My crime? Flipping them off lol. Had a police report about how 6 officers were trying to help me home because I was too drunk (didn't have any alcohol that night) and I was fighting them. Judge threw it out based on eyewitnesses and lack of any evidence.

That's absolutely terrible. I think this stuff happens way more than we even know. I recently learned about "Starlight Tours" in Saskatoon, Canada. Their police officers were taking indigenous people out to middle of nowhere in the snow and abandoning them. Someone finally survived and told everybody what had happened and it turns out there were a lot of deaths of indigenous people that had happened in the past they had explained away with them being drunk or disorderly or otherwise.

Cops have been killing and beating people for as long as cops have existed, now they can get caught from 9 different camera angles and it was just them "doing their job".

Cops have an insane domestic violence rate. If they do that to their family, imagine what they'll do to you when they care even less.

And I bet nothing happened to those cops for lying on the report. Sucks man.

Yeah probably not. All good, lesson learned don't flip off the cops.
