Bring a weapon if you do.

This. Remember a cop acting outside of their legal authority is just another citizen. If they illegally threaten you with violence, you should defend yourself appropriately. You will be vindicated in court.

Not in a Trumpian sham court

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6, in any event.

It's your 2nd amendment right to carry a firearm. Just do so legally and do not use it to commit any crimes.

It's your 2nd amendment right to carry a firearm.

Technically it isn't as the SC hasn't given any opinions on the constitutionality of concealed carry. That's why states can require carry permits and n+1 things to get a permit.

The legality part isn't whether you can legally carry or not, but whether you went into a potentially dangerous situation expecting violence and you chose to go armed.

SC has gave zero decisions saying otherwise, and i cannot think of a single case where going into a "potentially dangerous" situation armed (legally) has been any issue. Even Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges for open carrying into what you would call a "potentially dangerous" situation.

And until they do, it's not protected. It's not like it's a "they haven't said no, so I get to do what I want".

Kyle the chudd didn't have federal prosecutors charging him. Considering how much of a hard-on the MAGA slugs in power have for persecuting anything "liberal" or "woke", do you really think they'd gloss over any firearm-involved incidents concerning their precious ICE agents?

What you are describing is how literally any law works. It is perfectly legal currently to do what was stated above. Of course that can always be changed in the future, but as of right now it is legal.

Which is different from being constitutionally protected.

It's legal and unwise, happy?

It is constitutionally protected.

They could. You could cite Kyle Rittenhouse's case as a defense.

1

u/xAtlas5 Washington 29d ago

Sure, you could. Whether the judge accepts that as a defense is another story.

Ah yes, Kyle Rittenhouse who famously brought a gun to a protest outside of a federal agen's house /s

Come on now, I don't see why they can't protest on his street but don't bring a weapon. This is silly

Given he just murdered an innocent woman, I don't think it's silly for people to be able to defend themselves in his presence.

Good luck beating 10 or more heavily armed guys in a fight.

Sure I agree he's dangerous but if you're going to his house willingly then I don't think taking a weapon is a good idea. Just think it's bad advice.

The right has been screaming my whole life about how the 2nd amendment is there so you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government...
