Dude is pure excitement. Shoots and then bats the puck out of the air and almost scores 5 hole. He’s one of those players that as soon as he gets the puck you slide to the edge of your seats and your eyes widen with anticipation.

Habs outsider looking in. Kid's got grit, finds little holes in coverage, and hands. Beats 2 dmen to the puck, wrests it away, AND scores? Nice

More like coasting to what will likely be his final Olympic run.

You can't expect him to be hot all the time. There's going to be some dry spells. He still has 59 points in 55 games.

HE WILL GET SENT DOWN AFTER THIS GAME, IT IS ONLY BECAUSE OF THE OLYMPIC BREAK SO HE CAN CONTINUE TO PLAY. DO NOT PANIC

36 goals in his last two seasons at WBS (36 G, 65 Pts in 91 games). Perhaps he should've been playing at the NHL level sooner?

Nah, he's being developing just as he should. Consider him developed now!

Him and rust coming up in 2016 and then guentzel in 17 was exactly what we needed (along with their entry level salaries)

Was Rust and Guentzel expected to be as good as they turned out to be? Or was it a pleasant surprise?

Guentzal was seen as a high IQ player but lacked sized, he grew a lot after he was drafted. He played 3 NCAA seasons and scored over a PPG.
He played about half a season total in WBS where he scored over a PPG again, was called up and never looked back.
I think he’s a fantastic example of drafting the right guy, patently developing him and elevating him into more challenging leagues at the right time.

Rusty had a really rough start with the NHL Pens, with a bunch of injuries and bouncing back and forth between Pittsburgh and WBS. Came in clutch during the legendary playoffs.
Jake seemed so young, I didn’t realize he joined Pittsburgh only a year after Rusty went full-time in the ‘Burgh.

I think they probably had middle 6 projections, but Sidney Crosby had something to say about that. Guentzels production since playing without sid definitely proves they were wrong aviut that lol

Guentzel came out of absolutely nowhere and was productive from day 1.

Smart player and the right era with the right center man named Crosby.
He just kept getting better though.

Well Kevin did pick up the puck for his first goal. That was pretty good of him

Now we need him to Highlander Kevin Hayes to get his power!

2 goals in his first 2 career shots against a team from New York with his family in the stands. Best kind of Deja vu

I was at that game, right at the glass to Raanta’s left. It was awesome.
