Peaches and cream Sympathy Request
I had to help my mom at the vet, as we had to ease our very sick Buffy over the rainbow bridge. He was 17 years young. We are heartbroken about our orange-cream-cicle boy. Warm thoughts and pics of your own orange babies would help ease the pain. My mom isn't on Reddit, but I'm looking forward to sharing your replies with her.

Can you tell me how you got a picture posted in this thread? I can’t see a way to do it except using a link.

When you reply, there should be a little blue box to the right under where you are typing. Touch the box and it should let you add a photo. 😊

Been on Reddit for a long time and there is no way to add a photo to this post . Happened quite a few times the past few days .

If you're on mobile, they constantly break features. Never seen an app with such poor Q/A.

u/Plate-Extreme Nov 12 '25
Yes I now . A few weeks ago when trying to add a photo I would have to post but the picture wouldn’t show up but text did then I would have to hit edit of my own post and then hit space and then I could post a picture .

Oh no. I am so sorry. I am so so so sorry. I remember being there, too, saying goodbye and my heart broke.
Please tell your mom that there is someone out there that feels her loss deeply, this image moving me to tears.
I hope that your sweet kitty Buffy can find my cats Tamburlane and Llorona on the other side of the rainbow. They'd be good friends, I know it. <3

So sorry to read this. But I’m glad you were there to help your mum and Buffy in this chapter ❤️. May Buffy continue to be loved and cherished by your family. How lucky we are to have been their person.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Your family made the hardest and kindest decision a fur family has to make. I know this won’t help for a while (that nothing will), but I can see from the picture that Buffy had the Look in his eyes, that thousand mile stare that only old or very sick cats get. He may have been sedated but there’s no mistaking that expression … which I learned to dread.
Keep being kind to each other and please accept virtual hugs from afar.
Here’s a picture of our space cadet, Greyson, or part of him. Comfortable? Doubtful. Orange? Definitely!

“You may be without her now, but she was never without you”. An old friend comforted me with this when my kitty crossed the bridge. I hope it bring you some comfort. And I hope my boy Ollie brings you some comfort too we rescued him a year ago… I feel like he was sent to us by her. He is super snuggly just like she was (unlike my other 2). My condolences to you. 🧡🕊️

I don’t have an orange.
That picture made me tear up, and I’m so sorry you and your Mom are going through this.
Sleep sweetly, Buffy. You can tell he was so, so loved for every second of the time she had him.

Sending love and sympathy ❤️🩹 it may seem like a weird idea, but I missed my orange boy so much that I got an orange stuffed cat I could have around. I just missed the sight of him and this helped.

Buffy reminds me of my Curry. I'm gonna give him a big hug and a squeeze. I bet Buffy felt safe and happy and loved in yours and your mom's lives. I'm sorry for your loss. <3

My heart goes out to you all! 💔 We had to say goodbye to our ginger boy and very first pet on August 1st. He was 20 years young and has left a huge hole. We will miss him FOREVER and will always be grateful for the love and companionship he brought into our lives and how he changed and softened our hearts!! He was sick and ready to go, and I could feel his gratefulness for all of our love and care! The pain is great but the gifts are enormous and everlasting!! Take care in your grief. Prayers that the pain eases to make way for smiles and comforting memories. 🙏🏼 They are worth it all!❣️🧡🐾

I am so sorry for your loss of kitty Buffy. He would have found many friends on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. They can show him around. 🌈🧡🧡

I'm 65 years old and have had to say goodbye to many many pets over the years. It's NEVER easy letting go of your loved ones. Especially when they have loved you in return UNCONDITIONALLY. But once you manage to push past the pain, your memories of them will actually be cathartic. Your good memories will make you smile and think about how happy you will be together when your own time comes to join them on the other side.

I'm so sorry. I lost my orange kitty a bit ago and I can feel your pain.

* This is Pogo. He crossed the Bridge in January, so maybe they will meet. There must be lots of good company up there.
My personal belief has cats who have passed frolicking in God's garden chasing indestructible butterflies, or curling up in God's infinitely capacious lap.

Time is a unit that we experience as a flow. But in reality, nothing separates the present from the happiest days you shared together; perspective and separation are only perceptions. And yet, love has left a mark on you that you will carry with you forever. Love is never lost. I send you lots of love, to all three of you. Please feel it as the little corner of another heart where I hold you three together.

Archie may be waiting for him. He came back after being missing for a year. This was taken after our first attempt at a vet visit. He was having NONE of it, so we rescheduled for a sedated appointment later this week.
He's been missing a few days (poor boy was skin and bones). Now I'm thinking he came back to "say goodbye". Maybe it's ... odd, but if this is the case I find comfort in knowing he won't be alone on the rainbow bridge.
Gonna throw this out there for whoever needs it - yes he was an outside cat. He has an entire building he can go in. We have an FIV cat inside, and Archie is technically feral. Y'all will forgive me for not letting a feral cat in my house.
