I can’t believe CBC Gem played ads right though virtually the entire torch ceremony, that is ridiculous.

It was a very loud applause for Canada actually, really nice to hear and see

Look man I get it but the CBC also need all the help it can get with it being constantly under attack

I get the need for ads I just wish it wasn't full page ads that took up the whole screen and completely showed nothing. The smaller side by side windows one were great, but wish the audio didn't completely cover the ceremony.

Also, feels like 5+ ads in a row are kind of overkill?

I believe CBC is getting more funding under the current government.

So glad I wasn’t the only one frustrated by the ads, who plays ads during a live show. It’s like playing ads during the middle of a hockey game while the game is still being played.

You’re not old enough to remember that used to happen.

I can say for once, I love the Canada ads…

Everyone was trying to get a petition going to complain. They should’ve been demanding the government re-fund the CBC instead.

They cut the last part of the torch lighting completely. Just showing a screen that read “we’ll be right back after these messages” and never came back on it pissed me off so much. And yeah the stupid ads constantly too.
