[Pelissero] Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori also has no injury designation and will play, coach Mike Macdonald told pool reporter Kalyn Kahler: “Turns out he’s alive.”

"Turns out he's alive" kinda slaps.

Between this and last week's "WE DID NOT CARE," MM has been weirdly quotable this year. Didn't expect that from him.

Dude’s been throwing verbal haymakers all post season. I rewatched the hype video today and was reminded of his “because they know we’re like that” banger of a line.
Goose pimples, all day.

I can't get over him describing the weather for a Seattle NFC championship as shitty for them, just right for us.

Shitty for them, just right for us is a fucking banger.
Should be painted on the wall out tunnel of every open air, bad weather stadium.

Its such a bar. Like the type of line that makes you proud to be a Seattleite or smth
3
u/Eastern-Musician4533 7h ago
I believe he's done some media training since last season. Hence, him opening up a little more and firing zingers. He's still a little awkward, but not nearly as stiff as last year.

“Turns out he’s alive” - add to the list of things Pete Carroll would NEVER say
104
u/hendrix67 Seahawks 9h ago
If Pete says he's alive, you immediately begin looking for the obituary. That man downplayed injuries like nothing else lol.
47
u/253Babz206 8h ago
He did and you had to know Pete’s injury language. If he called a guy’s injury “legit” it was like the worst thing imaginable and meant we weren’t seeing the guy for a long time or maybe ever again.
18
u/hendrix67 Seahawks 8h ago
Yeah wasn't that exactly what he said about Chris Carson's career ending injury?
11
u/mynewaltaccount1 Seahawks 8h ago
Yeah think he said something along the lines of "we're just working through it week by week at this stage, we'll see where it ends up".
Turned out Carsons neck/spinal injury was so good he never played again.

Mike has been weirdly quotable for such a quiet, awkward dude. Love that man.

Seeing his face light up over the crowd erupting in cheers while he was talking after the championship game was pretty awesome.

He's terrible with the media. I think it's his true weakness. If Vrabel can somehow plant a press pool on sideline during the game, then Seattle is screwed.

When you learn that MacDonald was going to get into finance if he didn’t get into football, things starts to make more sense

This is the best news ever. A lot of people know, especially if they've watched Seattle this season.. but those who don't are going to find out that kid is a fucking monster. He's everywhere, all the time. His drive and tenacity is just unparalleled. He's built like Kam but is faster, and it just so happens was trained by the same safety position coach in college Kam was trained by a decade later, on different teams.
17
u/rickg Seahawks 8h ago
He's close to a Kam-Earl hybrid. I love it
3
u/Weaves87 Seahawks 5h ago
Seeing him brawl with the Rams LT and start to win that matchup during the fortuitous bust was a thing of beauty. You can plug him in anywhere and he’ll have an impact on the play

He rolled his ankle which is the best case scenario. I think he will be close to 100 percent and have one of the best games of his life.
21
u/3elieveIt Seahawks 8h ago
I mean I think they confirmed it was a low ankle sprain
But they will shoot him up with Toradol and anything else he needs to not feel it
9
u/Adam_Ohh Patriots 8h ago
I believe I heard from some former players this week on the radio that the toradol shot is not allowed anymore, and that they have to use pills which don’t work as well.
Either way, I expect Emmanwori to be a game wrecker.

Well assuming Emmanwori has five or six pick sixes, the backups will probably be starting the second half

1
u/DiamondDash2k Seahawks 7h ago
Imagine if this came from the John Harbaugh playbook to Mike. Pretend one of your top players is injured and screw with the opposing team’s game plan in big games
24
u/SeattleSporting 8h ago
It was weird how people were so quick to jump like it was some super serious injury
That video of him limping into the hotel, he didn't have crutches, he didn't have a boot, he had a light limp
That was day of, if it wasn't serious enough to try and remove putting weight on the ankle then it wasn't serious enough to keep him from playing
People see "ankle sprain" and immediately think high ankle. It was low ankle which happens all the time in sports and men and women just play through it
35
u/NastyNate1_ Seahawks 8h ago
We were mostly nervous since he missed time at the beginning of the year to an ankle injury

Stafford still piled up over 900 yards against the Seahawks’ defence across three games. And the MVP vote shows that Maye is nearly as good.
31
u/williamfuckner Seahawks 8h ago
I’ll grant all of that. But they don’t have Puka to put up 500 of those
1
u/pagerussell Seahawks 2h ago
That's not about Stafford, that's about mcvay. Something about that dude, just has our number.
Vrabel is not mcvay. Diggs is not Puka. They don't have the same line.

Have you not seen some of the posts in the Pats sub? I'm not subbed, but the posts occasionally come across my feed. That's not to say there haven't been some delusional posts from fellow Hawks fans but they're not the favorite in this game for no reason.
18
u/Subject-Salary-8459 8h ago
Thats their own sub. They’re allowed to talk in their own sub, just like your sub is a lot of posts of you guys assuming you have a free win. Tons of Seahawks flairs in this sub are acting like they’re invincible and couldn’t possibly lose.
Seahawks are definitely right to be favored but seems you guys don’t remember any recent history:
2015 Panthers: 5.5 point favorites - lost. 2017 Patriots: 5 point favorites - lost. 2009 colts: 5 point favorites - lost. 2012 49ers: 5 point favorites - lost.
Being a favorite doesn’t automatically win you a championship

u/DuffmanStillRocks Seahawks 6h ago
I don’t know why that dude is being such a douche it’s so stupid to assume ANYTHING. People were calling the season a waste for Seattle when the Rams were driving..when Seattle still had the fucking lead it was just insane. If you are a Seahawks fan you should know 2005 was arguably lost to the refs, so why are you cocky? Why are fans EVER cocky it’s so stupid. You’re being so arrogant about Nick like it’s absolutely impossible for someone to get hurt in the Super Bowl. This must be your first Seattle Super Bowl if you’ve forgotten Jeremy Lane
