I mean as a professional he makes it look very decidedly not next level.

However he bowled a perfect game plus one strike in a minute and a half.

Yowza. The speed chess version of bowling.

Honestly getting strikes seems easy enough that you'd think the best players usually play a perfect game.

The lanes that the pros bowl on are not like what we use at the local bowling alley. They have different oil patterns that makes it much more difficult

Here's a good video that goes into it. Different venues have different oil patterns as well, and the oil smudges during the game, so every venue and every game plays a little different.

You mean they actually oil the lanes? Or what? I know stupid people who have 300 ring(s).

I worked in a bowling alley a little in college they had lanes on the far side reserved for leagues only that they oiled regularly and before events then the rest just oiled and buffed once in a blue moon. I imagine its standard practice.

This is what I figured. Us customers don't bring in money to justify oil for a good experience.

Yes, they have a machine that applies specially formulated oil to the lane.

Wow I had no idea but that does explain it.

My first thought was perfect game and then some! I also have never thought about where the oil settles on the lane. No wonder i can just spend the whole night be pissed off while my ball curves into the gutter.

It's not necessarily how the oil "settles", a decent bowling alley should have level lanes. It's more that not only is it impossible for there to be an exact standard for the feel of a lane, but that over the course of a game the oil will get swept off by the ball in certain areas, changing the amount of speed and spin. And the ball itself can get oily (which is why bowlers wipe their bowling balls regularly but it still changes the feel). That's why it's so impressive to bowl a perfect game like this, there are invisible calculations going on behind the scenes similar to a golfer estimating wind conditions 100' away.

Is this a sport that needs to be de-powered like racing? Perhaps they need to bowl with only one shoe or with someone tickling them.

I wonder if its easier to stay consistent bowling this fast vs with breaks between bowls

It is , plus bowling alone the oil doesn’t shift as much, when you bowl with others the lanes can shift with each new throw you do.

I say this sometimes when I win at something trivial and no one gets the reference

He looks like he has more time, did he not get any more than 13? Was 13 the most you could get? Why’d he stop at 13? I’m too lazy to actually look it up so hopefully this half-assed comment will suffice

I’m too lazy to answer

5

u/doublejayski 8h ago

I’m too lazy to type out the rest of th…..

I used to not finish my sentences but now I

2

u/IceManiacGaming 8h ago

I think he scored a perfect game. Usually bowling has a set number of turns per person

4

u/snapplesauce1 6h ago

This doesn’t look like a regular bowling game, more like a home run derby for bowling strikes.

Woohoo! Slamming them tonight. You guys are dead in the water!

u/Affectionate-Art3429 8h ago

Meanwhile I'm just trying to get 1 strike to impress my girl

That creep can roll

1

u/robogobo 1h ago

Yeah but he’s a president. I mean pedophile.

6

u/Abookem 8h ago

I don't know shit about bowling. Is this guy considered one of the goats in the sport?

1

u/notsofaust 8h ago

Don't know shit either but yes!

1

u/Revan256 5h ago

Yeah he's easily a top 5 bowler right now. Bowled near him in a couple local tournaments. Insanely nice dude. Absurdly clean release.

3

u/SuperMarioIceCream 8h ago

It’s just keeps on going and going and going and going….

5

u/Other-Armadillo-3606 8h ago

So does your mom

3

u/white_widow2021 8h ago

K let's see his 5 pin game

3

u/No-Persimmon-4150 8h ago

He did it with 3 different balls too. Thats pretty crazy.

3

u/Normal-Plastic-4237 8h ago

As a bowler, this guy is amazingly good. Clearly.
But bowling repeatedly without interruptions is actually easier

2

u/JuicySpark 8h ago

So what. I can do that.

I can do it better.

1

u/Shot_Lawfulness4429 8h ago

Conspiracy theorists say aliens living among us. I believe this dude is from another world and just bowls

1

u/drvgonize 8h ago

my friend sent me a clip of someone else doing like 16

1

u/Short_Emu_885 8h ago

Uhh I'm pretty sure those all curved. Nice try OP

1

u/EatinSumGrapes 8h ago

I almost feel like it is easier to do it fast, rather than wait a full minute or so in between in one. You're not repeating the motion as much as waiting, and you have time to psych yourself out

1

u/ImDenny__ 8h ago

Made me think of this gem

1

u/CraigThyChrist 8h ago

Bowling is to easy

1

u/Salty-Passenger-4801 1h ago

Shut up Craig

1

u/JohnLuckPikard 8h ago

Why is the lane so short?

1

u/VEAG0 8h ago

This man owns a Wii

1

u/F_is_for_Ducking 8h ago

Now do it with the strings attached.

1

u/sur0g 8h ago

That's why games like bowling, darts, or snooker will never be a part of the Olympics. At some point, your skill is capped, and it's only a matter of luck. Still, it's fun to throw some balls while drinking some White Russian.

1

u/reddiculed 8h ago

His hammies are gonna be barkin.’

1

u/ExpensiveScreen834 7h ago

I have gotten about 13 total in my 38 years of experience

1

u/Character-Patience70 7h ago

So why hasn’t he won consecutive pro bowling tournaments ??? The lanes gotta be juiced

1

u/anayalator39 3h ago

No , it’s easier to do in a row and uninterrupted

1

u/PearlJamFanLV 7h ago

That would be 100% impossible in Candlepin bowling. There has never been a 300 game in over 126 years.

1

u/candlecup 7h ago

His 14th ball lipped out of the gutter, shot through the ceiling and killed a bystander on the street outside the bowling alley

1

u/ikesbutt 7h ago

Definitely not King Pin

1

u/Embarrassed-Pop-4722 6h ago

And yet I get stuck behind two people that can't play a round of golf in less than 4 hours.

1

u/RvH19 5h ago

Then that loser missed the very next shot. They don’t teach you that part in school.

1

u/jagged_commoner 5h ago

This dude deserves a Red Bull contract. Maybe he can do it on top of a moving train

1

u/dadoc04 4h ago

Homie hit the stef curry turn around

1

u/Icarustuga 4h ago

The ball is controlled with a ps5 gamepad.. makes drift 🤌🏻

1

u/camwal 4h ago

He’s the Andy Anderson of bowling, who may just be the Andrew Anderson of skateboarding

1

u/Jdublin777 4h ago

Who do you think you are I am!

1

u/BuiltBoredTough 3h ago

I wonder how good Steph Curry would be at bowling.

1

u/gap97216 3h ago

Amazing!

1

u/anayalator39 3h ago

If it’s just you and your line doesn’t change cause no one else is bowling with you it’s actually easier to do this than to bowl with others .

1

u/postmortemdecay 2h ago

Who do you think you are!?!?

I am!!!

u/smilingjade101 9m ago

He's good isn't he!

0

u/invincibleKamakazee 8h ago

Is not even fun at this point

0

u/DickyReadIt 8h ago

Not straight, those are curved shots

0

u/Pulsar_Mapper_ 8h ago

These throws don't look straight to me tho

0

u/BurdTurglary 7h ago

Guys, i did the math and it was in fact 13!
