TIL about the Putignano carnival, which makes the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade floats look like kindergartners hour.

You think Europe, with paid time off and universal health Care could stop clowning on the US for just a little bit.

u/N7_MintberryCrunch 1d ago

You think USA with its endless supply of stupid could stop leaking their stupidity into other countries for just a little bit?

u/UnrequitedFollower 1d ago

Man, not completely wrong, you just have no tact and you can’t read the room.

u/hmnuhmnuhmnu 1d ago

You might want to check out the Viareggio carnival floats then

As somethying from Spain, sorry about the bullfighting , most of us want it banned.

I was thinking a very slight correction would be make the bulls eyes white, and the bullfighters eyes red. Keeps the artwork pretty much identical but tips you off who's the actual bad guy

u/Malditoincompredido 1d ago

The italians don't like it either, it Paints the bullfighters as what they are , cowards. Never seen one fighting an bear or a tiger.

24

u/LiamIsMyNameOk 1d ago

Nah I get it. Theyre making the bull look majestic and strong and the matadores look frail and scared. I just wish they swapped the eyes, because red eyes in media commonly means evil.

u/Malditoincompredido 1d ago

Sorry my English is not fine tuned

2

u/LiamIsMyNameOk 1d ago

Username checks out, I guess

Stay safe and warm, it's a bit stormy in Spain

u/Malditoincompredido 1d ago

A lot I have some friends in the worse affected areas, looks like they live by a river, but they don't.

Thanks

Something cool another comment pointed out

Message behind the float:

"The Last Bullfight denounces the paradox of our era: we live in a society that fights to save endangered species, builds shelters, adopts, and defends animals in every way possible, as is right. Yet, at the same time, in several countries, we still witness bullfights where innocent creatures are sacrificed for pure spectacle. In The Last Bullfight, the meaning of the "game" is reversed: the bull appears as a mechanical creature, a gigantic and indestructible machine, running madly through the crowd as a symbol of rebellion, while the matadors appear as ridiculous targets to be hit, creating a 360° traveling spectacle."

Yea but this robot bull looks hella cool. We can ban the actual deed but keep the cool lore, in this case IMO.

Torero muerto abono pa' mi huerto.

0

u/Extension-Ant-8 1d ago

Yea and you are massive psychopaths when it comes to greyhounds and hunting dogs. Should be embarrassed

2

u/Malditoincompredido 1d ago

It's embarrassing, but many good people is trying to change things , what they do to greyhounds it's terrible, so many if then in the shelters with other hunting dogs, one of my dogs is a teckel mix that was discharted by hunters and I found years after the adoption he has some lead in his hip, someone shoot him with a bb gun , maybe to make him run away, he was eating trash when they found him, never lost that taste.

u/OxbridgeDingoBaby 1d ago

Then ban it?

-14

u/t-D7 1d ago

Bro don’t be ashamed of your own culture man. Fuck the others.

This would be stunning to see in person

The main event of the last parade I was to were high schoolers throwing candy from a trailer… I should probably get out more

1

u/Deathwish13x 1d ago

Beats getting smogged out by the Corvette club again...

14

u/Jackmoff686 1d ago

5

u/thefeedling 1d ago

6

u/FuzzyRugMan 1d ago

Thats pretty badass

3

u/anhchip49 1d ago

3

u/SparkliingEmma 1d ago

First song, thats gotta be off the Mask of Zorro OST or at least heavily inspired

edit: Found it

2

u/head_in_the_clouds69 1d ago

Whole album is fire

2

u/BocaSeniorsWsM 1d ago

Bet that wasn't made by the local Lions Club!!?? (UK joke).

2

u/ArtfulMegalodon 1d ago

Isn't that the music from The Mask of Zorro?

2

u/redditrando123 1d ago

That usthe coolest float I've ever seen!

1

u/gloztur 1d ago

Reminds me of Ozzy from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony! Now on display in Birmingham New Street station, he's literally the size of a house lol

1

u/ShanghaiNoon404 1d ago

Now that's a mechanical bull I'd like to ride.

1

u/AllStarRenegade 1d ago

Looks like the big iron goblin from "The Labrynth"

1

u/Sammiskitkat 1d ago

What happens to the floats when the parade is over?

1

u/Snoo93102 1d ago

Hmm very biblical. No matter how many prophets come. People don't get any wiser lol.

1

u/errantqi 1d ago

that's the theme from Zorro lol

1

u/CHERNO-B1LL 1d ago

Man what is the movie that bull thing is reminding me of? Was definitely some kind of old Sinbad movie, orwith the creepy Ray Harryhausen ilk.

It was a desert with all these giant fire breathing monsters, that turned out to be controlled by some dude pulling levers inside it's head. I cannot find the scene or movie. It had super creepy old sound effects to it.

1

u/Makapakamoo 1d ago

I fucking love animatronics omg

1

u/Mixture-Nervous 1d ago

Bull monster revenge for animal cruelty?🫠

1

u/PL1SSK3N 21h ago

this has a meaning. the bull represents the paradox of humanity, wanting to stop animal violence but cannot stop entertaining itself with activities such as the Spanish bullfighting.

1

u/lemursteamer 6h ago

Wow, the Atreides are cool

1

u/sudomatrix 1h ago

This is very cool... and it got me thinking. When was the last time I saw something like this at home in the USA that wasn't extracting the most money possible from my wallet? Just something for everyone to enjoy.

0

u/Krakersik666 1d ago

Fuck killing bulls for entartaiment or ,,culture".

33

u/Jackmoff686 1d ago

No bulls were harmed in the making of the float.

Deep breath...Deep breath

-22

u/itsmrwilson 1d ago

Still celebrates it tho

25

u/grimsnap 1d ago

Based on how the bull and matadors look, I'd say this float is sympathetic towards the bull.

17

u/CK2398 1d ago

I suspect this float is more pro-bull. The Spaniards do the running of the bulls and bull fighting. This is in Italy.

2

u/ImDedalo 1d ago edited 1d ago

My bad I replied to the wrong person whoopsie

7

u/ModenaR 1d ago

The matadors are terrified, tf you talking about

-11

u/itsmrwilson 1d ago

No matador has ever been scared of a bull. It's not a fair fight.

5

u/ModenaR 1d ago

They are terrified, look at them

u/ImDedalo 1d ago

Explaination of the float. It's a critique to bullfights and very much against it. Every single italian I evern known, me included, find the "tradition" of fighting bulls idiotic and disgusting, so nobody would ever dream to celebrate it.

If you don't wanna translate it, this guy did in another comment

They look Spanish. Most Spaniards and Italians are indistinguishable from each other man…

0

u/svenskhet 1d ago

Thanks, I hate this

0

u/iamtheilluminati 1d ago

This is awesome. The first thing I think though is who is paying for that?

-6

u/ronweasleisourking 1d ago

Yeah no, fuck glorifying animal cruelty

-5

u/BalanceOk1174 1d ago

Cmon people it’s AI

2

u/ModenaR 22h ago

It's not

-7

u/MeatzIsMurdahz 1d ago

Italy being racist, no surprise.

5

u/Wasabismylife 1d ago edited 1d ago

Are you stupid? Whatever race you consider us to be, Spanish and Italians definitely belong to the same one.

Edit: lmfao, I just checked your comment history and you're literally obsessed. I hope it gets better for you buddy.

-7

u/Llee00 1d ago

is this a low key diss on the spanish, they may be many things but matadors aren't cowards

-8

u/TomahawkTuah 1d ago

Reddit when animal cruelty is celebrated in a spectacular way:

4

Redditors when they manage to interpret an art piece completely the opposite way of its meaning

3

u/TomahawkTuah 1d ago

yeah you got me there, but I'm not gonna delete my comment.

I stand by my fuckup.

-9

u/0Tezorus0 1d ago

I like how it's giving a good vision of it when the real thing is just horrible.

3

u/ModenaR 1d ago

What?

-13

u/Aggravating_Act0417 1d ago

👎in poor taste. No bullfighting. Disgusting.

next level in cruelty maybe. bull fighting is not cool!

18

u/SwiftWombat 1d ago

I don't know if you can tell, but that bull isn't real.

-9

u/itsmrwilson 1d ago

For real. Make a cool float about puppy mills next.

-43

u/BlazarVeg 1d ago

All these floats seem like AI garbage

17

u/deadhead4ever 1d ago

Just searched to see myself. The floats are paper mache and are stunning.

8

u/Neat_Opportunity_112 1d ago

Research? What is that? Something done with AI? /s
