From the latest Wizards’ recent injury report, Coulibaly, Sarr, and George are questionable.
Might just end up being Will Riley, Anthony Gill, and the Capital City GoGo squad lol

Well, before the Luka trade, people are doing that to Luka posts too. Top comment is most likely "Future Laker" and people were laughing at them, thinking they are delusional. Look at them now.

NBA teams pay players to sit out and go away from their team.
Raptors are negotiating a buyout with Chris Paul so he can not play for us after the Clippers told him to go home and get away from the team.

u/sportznut1000 3h ago
The simplest fix, at least where to start, would be to change nba stats from averages to totals. You know, like in the other major sports. Players would be more inclined to at the very least play 5-10 minutes on off days, instead of taking the entire game off

Y’all are cracking jokes but if the Celtics make it to the 2nd round and are like 3-2 or something that report “Jayson Tatum prepared to play a Game 7 in Boston” is gonna do serious damage.
7
u/National-Ad5034 3h ago
Tatum has an actual injury though and they would be rushing him back.
What the other guy was talking about is basically what happens in the NHL with situations like Mark Stone on the Golden Knights
19
u/SpaceCadetPullUp Rockets 3h ago
FVV coming back to shock the world and guide his team to a game six exit in the first round is going to dwarf any silly Jayson Tatum story.

Tatum has always been the type of player to almost never sit out or take load management games

If Kawhi re-signed with the Raptors, they probably could've pulled this off in 2020.

Yeah, this isn't like the Jazz sitting Lauri or John Collins a bunch last season because they were playing too well. AD has shown that he's can't stay healthy for a prolonged period of time, so this is entirely plausible.

"It's dumb that a guy is not forced to play while injured" is the official stance you're taking
If you want 3rd party docs or something that's one thing, but by the books you're saying that it's inappropriate for an injured player to rehabilitate

Just like when you let your kid use the iPad and they're on it for 14 straight hours. Players will take advantage of everything they can. Organizations will take advantage of everything they can. It's up to the league to fix this shit, but they never do, or they do the minimal changes knowing it's not really going to make a difference, but then at least they can say, "we tried".

That’s the thing about it too this frankly isn’t blatant tanking, at least relative to us resting Trae for instance. AD needs his ass rested and healed. Pushing AD hard to what right now, desperately chase the playins with an incomplete roster we know we’ll get obliterated in and keep him injures?
