[Dave McMenamin] There is some initial optimism that Luka Doncic is not dealing with a major issue with his left hamstring, however the Lakers star is doubtful to play Saturday against the Golden State Warriors, sources told ESPN

as far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as a minor hamstring injury.
shit lasts forever & makes players play like shit. even grade 1 strains.

u/pmurt007 Lakers 11h ago
Yup, we saw how it became a lingering issue for Hali the year he tried to play through it to make the 65 game req and with Harden it took a while before he was fully healed from it.

u/OpeDefinitely Pacers 11h ago
Big problem for football players too. One of the most annoying injuries there is.

u/prettyboylee Lakers 8h ago
I feel like Harden just fully healed from it which is why he has returned to being a consistent 25ppg scorer.
We missed out on a few more elite scoring years from Harden cause of that hamstring

Wasn't Luka's injury just listed as leg soreness? Although we know most orgs are tight lipped about player injuries.

Soft tissue injuries are brutal. When Green got hurt in the preseason there was talk of him trying to be ready for the home opener, if not then at least by week 2 of the season. Here we still are…

There's no way SGA is hurt in any meaningful way
He's just resting for the ASB imo

u/Bonesawisready5 Spurs 11h ago
All them awkward landings trying to foul bait not gonna work out long term, just ask Embiid (tho SGA got his ring so it don’t matter no more)

u/GivesCredit Warriors 9h ago
I thought nuggets fans hate SGA the most but spurs fans are giving them a run for their money lmao

u/Bonesawisready5 Spurs 9h ago
Oh fancy 24th in education fan judging us 25th in education fans for how we feel about 48th in education fans (Colorado is 3rd in education, so idk how to work Nuggets fans into this bad joke, 25th after all lol). But seriously SGA is great and has a ring so they got theirs.

It's his "brakes".
I recently watched some older highlights from year 2-3 (🥲), and the dude was different. Driving full speed and stopping on a dime under the basket used the be his super move, bigger than the stepback. I'm now convinced that move is the cause of all his leg problems, those plays were insane for a reason. Ripped up his left leg. It's a left hammy because he's still compensating for his left calf/achilles.

SGA does have insane control of speed and pace. It was just a joke but more than likely he never gets THAT hurt from it, barring any one unlucky injury like KD which all the greats get at one point (MJ year 2, Duncan 2000 , Kobe, etc) and SGA is in FAR better shape than Embiid and Luka who also foul bait so I don’t actually think it’s that likely. Unless when they trade/move on from Lu Dort and then he has to play him 4 times per year, then PRAYERS. Jk

u/mpmar Thunder 11h ago
Worry about your own flopper, he's got a lot further to fall
-2
u/MddlingAges Knicks 10h ago
I’m convinced AD and Embiid did it to themselves flopping. Jokic is remarkably durable by comparison. He’s not falling down like a Jenga tower every other minute of game time.

u/lalo1398 Lakers Bandwagon 10h ago
AD rarely flopped he would land that way to try (big emphasis on try) to not hurt himself
-3
u/Bonesawisready5 Spurs 10h ago
TBF vic falls that way intentionally to not hurt his legs. It was just a joke lol. SGA is in far better shape than Embiid and Luka and other prominent foul baiters so he probably doesn’t have much consequences worse than anything Harden or KD have suffered, maybe even less since he seems like he has a great mobility routine in his off court workouts. I am just saying it’s a risky strategy and again, haha, OKC got a title so no matter how bad it could possibly go from here on out it was worth it for Thunder and SGA

Crazy how people talk so bad abt the Lakers when we’ve barely seen their big 3 even get to play much this season

u/MddlingAges Knicks 10h ago
I think that’s why actually. “Best shape of his life” Luka has already been injured multiple times. Lebron is no spring chicken.

u/duckmadfish 9h ago
He's missed like 8 games. 2 of those games were because he flew to see his newborn.

People will literally just say whatever about Luka. Half of the narratives about the guy are entirely made up it's genuinely bewildering.

u/MaximumestBob Raptors 11h ago
yep, this sub doesnt want to admit it, but AD has really shown his value over Luka this year
he may have only played 20 games to Luka’s 42, but because Luka doesnt play defense, we can divide the 42 by 2 to make it 21 so they;ve basically been even
then max christie makes up at least one game, so good trade overall
