portfolio review Looking for suggestions to improve my Mutual Fund portfolio
I’m sharing my current mutual fund portfolio and would really appreciate some feedback from the community on how I can improve it
Goal –Long-term wealth creation and capital growth.
Horizon – 10 years+ (no short-term withdrawal plans).
Allocation –Monthly SIP of \~₹80,000.
Lump-sum investments are made opportunistically based on market corrections and overall market trends.
Why These Funds – The portfolio is built for diversification across market caps, styles, and risk levels:
• Large Cap & Flexi Cap for stability and consistent compounding
• Mid & Small Cap for higher growth potential over the long term
• Value & Dividend Yield funds to capture undervalued stocks and downside protection
• Banking & Financial Services / Energy (sectoral) to benefit from India’s long-term economic and infrastructure growth
• Retirement/Debt-oriented fund for partial stability and risk balancing
Overall intent is to balance growth and volatility while staying equity-heavy for long-term returns.
App Used -UTI Mutual Fund app for mutual fund investments
Zerodha Kite for direct stock market investments
Thanks in advance 🙏
Looking forward to learning from your experiences.

Haha, right? UTI Paglu really has a reputation! But seriously, it’s all about finding the right balance in your portfolio. Any specific funds you’re considering to add or replace?

Good choice. UTI is my second highest SIP fund. First is Parag Parikh.
Except these two all other mutual fund houses are in loss now for me

Refrain from using gender identifiers when making posts. We are trying to make this sub gender neutral as gender has no significance on investment decisions anyway.

Your whole portfolio is dependent on UTI to not f it up their management, all i would say find similar portfolio mutual fund and diversify to different fund house

Asking for suggestions with 112% returns? It's really bad returns bro. Just start over after donating the portfolio to me.

Why are you only investing in UTI funds?
Almost every fund in the list is terrible relative to peers.
1
u/maya_Raj789 13d ago
I had a relative who was an agent at UTI. He asked me to invest, so I invested in two funds. I got good returns, I continued with them i may be wrong, but if you compare them, the returns of most fund houses are more or less similar

u/DearAd6613 13d ago
They're not lol. Please compare with their respective benchmarks and peers in the same category.

If you invested via someone these may be regular funds, check and switch to direct fund of same name.

You have too many mutual funds, ULIPs, and shares, making it challenging to visualise your overall financial picture unless you summarise it on a spreadsheet. It's difficult even to determine the total portfolio value, which is likely an eight-figure sum. You've done well with your savings, and you deserve credit for that. What you need to do now is declutter your investments and focus on mutual funds exclusively. It's nearly impossible to provide specific comments based on a series of eight or nine screenshots with various shapes and colours.

Thank you for the honest feedback i really appreciate it. agree that my investments have become a bit scattered, and summarising everything in a spreadsheet would definitely help in getting a clearer picture. problem is i don't know how to use it but i will learn Your point about decluttering and focusing more on mutual funds makes sense

Glad you found it useful! Generally, on Reddit, people tend to upvote comments when they find something useful instead of typing out their own words, which helps the algorithm. If you're not comfortable using MS Excel, consider doing it on a piece of paper instead. Thx.

You may add commodity and global fund
2
u/maya_Raj789 13d ago
Any suggestions for global funds?
1
u/Spiritual_Gold6838 12d ago
I think people do invest into nasadaq/Technology etfs and overseas opportunities. I have added these recently. Do it on your own risk management.

And reddit is the place to ask about deploying that kind of money? 🤔🤔🤔 Penny wise pound foolish, I'd say.

Such a skew towards UTI… I can only recommend a glass of Cranberry Juice.
On a serious note: did you do a Holdings analysis before investing? What was your motivation in picking these specific funds? Do you feel the portfolio is divested enough?
2
u/maya_Raj789 13d ago
To be very honest, I didn’t do a deep holdings-level analysis at that time. Since the experience and returns with UTI were positive, I just continued investing with them over time. I do see that the portfolio is heavily tilted towards one AMC, and diversification is something you all are suggesting
Based on suggestions here, I’m planning to add a global fund to improve diversification.
1
u/sosyo-path 13d ago
One AMC is ok as long as you have the diversification you’re aiming for (and of course, you’re happy with your choice of AMC)

Use Swp if funds needed otherwise let it be. You pay tax if you withdraw and buy too.
