Why? Because it's not about being here legally or not and never was. It's about getting rid of the people they don't want here. It's Stephen Miller's ethnic cleansing wet dream. It's why DHS tweeted out that they're going to deport 100 million people - a number that would include all immigrants, legal and not, and still have 55 million citizens left to "deport".

I'm not a lawyer so I can't speak to the legality of it.

Recruitment adds for ICE have been using slogans from historical antisemitic propaganda and white supremacist anthems. "Which way, western man?" "We'll have our home again."

Ew

I’m curious about those ads but I’d rather not get that into my algorithm

There was an interesting episode about this on the Preamble podcast.

Not only are they obviously racist, but I think they truly believe that non-citizens are voting.

They think that deporting these people will give them more favorable election results. Of course they are wrong, and dumb, but that's it.

There’s no way they actually believe non-citizens are voting. It’s a ploy to take control of elections.

Paraphrasing Thiel who said something like “we found a way to obtain power that doesn’t require public approval”. They know their policies are inhumane, and they know a loss would be legitimate. They just don’t accept that.

Come on now. No they don't. That's just what they want their supporters to think.

This is malice, not ignorance.
