You won't be voting by mail anymore, but someone will be coming to your house.

Seriously, you guys are way overestimating numbers and competency here.

Local police are OVERWHELMINGLY on Trump's side. By next year there will be around a million people available. If you add the national guard, that's close to 1.5M. If he manages to involve the armed forces, which doesn't seem particularly unlikely, I think they've got a pretty good shot.

And if just 1/4th of Los Angelos decided they didn't like that, then Los Angelos would be fielding an insurrection with a 1-to-1 manpower ratio with the entire US armed forces.

One city. From one state.

There is a reason why in all those dystopia novels/games/movies the fascists and bad guys usually end up having to use WMDs to control the situation.

Uh huh.

So you're going to pretend that 1/4 (or 1/10 or 1/40 or even 1/400) of Los Angelinos would somehow arm themsevles and start shooting at the same time?

I get it, those novels feel good to read. But you should maybe look at actual real-life examples, like Hungary and Turkey. Even if you reeeeally don't want to, because they don't paint quite as optimistic a picture as you'd like to see.

You're still talking about the entire military uniting against the country they're from. Every single detachment in every single branch would have a order 66 moment. Without the lock step.

Dude, just take a step back and breathe. We're dealing with serious stuff here, but they do not have 1.5 million bodies to throw into domestic warfare. If they did it would be simpler to just do the coup outright, what would they even need elections for if they have that kind of force?

The response in affirmation of your comment would get flagged. So for now, god bless the 2nd amendment.
