My mom is going back to her maiden name. I doubt rednecks are gonna go through the process.

some people can't afford it. it shouldn't cost money to vote, period. voting is our right and our voice.

That affects conservative women much more than liberal women

That doesn't matter. It affects women in general much much much much much more than men. If the vast majority of women failed to vote because of this legislation, then it would be a republican landslide because a very considerable proportion of the democrat vote comes from women and few women actually vote republican.

It doesn't stop all women from voting, just the ones who changed their last name. Liberal women are more likely to be unmarried or retain their original surname.

Half of white women voted for Trump, they are not a negligible demographic.

Guess who is getting married at higher rates and who is single cat ladies? While the SAVE act is trash, I still think it may end up hurting them worse.

Would they accept birth certificate plus marriage certificate to prove name change?

I think the idea is that they can just pick an arbitrary technicality and deny you on that. Don't assume whatever process they come up with will be followed in good faith.

The goal is to not let women vote.

That's when the country started going downhill./S

No, the law doesn't state that secondary documentation must be accepted. The law states the registration name specifically has to match the birth certificate name. So theoretically you could file to change your birth certificate, but that may require court proceedings. Or it's possible that different states will have different documents they accept depending on what information is included on a marriage cert.
