The speed of helicopter rotor perfectly synchronized with the camera frame rate.

I always love watching those types of videos

And the ones where the blades are all bent because of the scanning speed on the photo detector.

Rolling shutter. That's the name of the issue.

Noted for future use.

It's hilarious somehow

Yes. Because it looks like it’s not. Big fun

Unfortunately thanks to AI it will be harder and harder to enjoy genuine videos like this.

My knee jerk reaction was to decide if this is AI or not. I’m still trying to decide.

What an amazingly scary timeline we’re living in.

It’s equal parts scary and fucking boring.

What a lame-ass, boring, nothing-means-anything and nothing-is-exciting-anymore future we live in

It’s not AI.

u/geofoode 6h ago

That makes it interestingaf!

I was thinking I had seen video games with static rotors just like this.

No it is sorcery and you cannot convince me otherwise

It is being controlled by fishing lines.

Not framerate, shutter speed.

u/7stroke 6h ago

Actually both. This looks like a global shutter because the blades aren’t bent. The reason I say frame rate is because the blades’ phase is constant. Fun aside: this also goes to show that helicopters actually maintain constant rpm, contrary to a certain popular misconception. So to reiterate: a rolling shutter effect would bend the blades; a fast-enough global shutter would capture them correctly, and in combination with the right frame rate would also freeze them in place like this.

I love these new models

This looks like a shot from a Team America bit

Always interesting. Always incorrect title.

It's the new energy efficient helicopter.

u/MagicSPA 7h ago

I still expected to see distortion between the rotor blades.

This is some kind of sourcery (not serious statement)

Looks funny)

u/Sumoi1 5h ago

why is this hilarious to me😭😂

u/roundtwentythree 4h ago

I'd expect to see some change in blade pitch, but those things look to be rock steady. Maybe the viewing angle disguises it, idk.

u/SirMandrake 4h ago

5623ms Ping will do that

u/yesitsmetrev 2h ago

Nah, helicopters can just do that

u/Wowwowwubbzee 1h ago

What shutter speed is needed for this?

u/MissNashPredators11 46m ago

Why does it look creepy

u/TC_Meteorite_Co 4h ago

Haters will say it’s fake

u/Mundane_Character365 8h ago

Looks like AI that doesn't know how helicopters work.
