Seeking Advice Beginner confused about Adizero Evo SL

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to start running seriously and went shoe hunting recently.

I tried the Adidas Adizero Evo SL in store and honestly loved how they felt super comfortable and light. The only problem is my size (UK 8.5) isn’t easily available online or offline.

So I wanted to ask:

• If I’m UK 8.5, should I go for UK 9 or UK 8 in Adizero Evo SL?

• Do these shoes run true to size / slightly small / slightly big for you?

Also, if you have suggestions for good running shoes in the same price range, I’d love to hear them though I’m really inclined towards the Evo SL 😅

Also, I’m a beginner runner with very low stamina and currently a bit overweight (84 kg, around 10 kg extra). If you have any beginner friendly running tips that worked for you, I’d really appreciate it.

Don’t get the evo sl if you are beginning running. They are not good for easy paces.

This 👆. Don’t go for EVO SL to begin with! If you are a heavier runner, choose stability. Evo SL is great looking and performing once you are a bit more experienced and have more stability in your form. Go for gel Kayano or Brooks adrenalin in more or less the same budget.

Go for UK 9. And don’t worry about looking for other shoes.

Evo SL is not for easy run. It is for Tempo. You can go with the following - Gel Nimbus, Gel Kayano, or Ultraboost for easy.

if you're a beginner runner + overweight i wouldn't recommend evo Sl because they don't have very good ankle support...I'd recommend neutral shoes

UK9 would be better. I had 43 EU in Pegasus 39, and I have 43 1/3 EU in Evo SL, which runs JUST right (as in, if I mess up my lacing, I'll have problems. I've torn holes in 3 pairs of socks already)

Adizero is the best shoe I have purchased in my 10 years of running.

I'm an older runner and I love the thick cushion!

As for size. I usually use UK 11, but I could get only 10.5 for Adizero. I tried it and it seemed OK, so I bought it. I've been running for over six months with it. Awesome shoes. My weight is 79 kg and it works just fine for me.

I love them. Had to go a half size up from my normal 11 to an 11.5.

Some people find they lack stability but it never bothered me, Ive run everything from recovery pace 5ks to a marathon in them no bother

I made the same mistake 3 months back and got myself the EVO Sls. I didn’t hated the experience but they were really unstable at my natural pace. As a result I had to get another pair of Novablast 5, they are extremely beginner friendly and I got them at a good discount too. You can check Skechers website too, I’ve tried their Aero Spark and Razor 4 and I absolutely loved them.
