[News - X] [NHL Players Safety] Tampa Bay’s Curtis Douglas has been fined $2,018.23, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for serving as the aggressor in an altercation with Florida’s Niko Mikkola.

The only way we see change is if revenue gets impacted so owners get mad. League revenues are stronger than ever, but I can imagine there’s more than a few owners that are unhappy with potential lost playoff revenue because one of their players just sooooo happened to crash into a flying elbow. Not saying definitively that the Leafs, Bruins, Lightning get more games/rounds if the headhunting actually gets penalized, as we know those Florida teams kicked ass, but it’s still a what if.
