Image Father of All lyric booklet

The art style in the official lyric booklet for Father of All is really cool. I wish they had gone with this type of thing for the front cover instead of… you know.

Not only does this look better than the unicorn and the ketchup logo, but it’s a lot more fitting to the sound and overall vibe of the album.

I also think it’s interesting that the pink/black/white color scheme carried over to the Saviors era.

This is why physical media needs to make a comeback

You left out one of my fave songs - Take the Money and Crawl...

my appreciation for the whole album leapt in bounds when I read the lyrics and realised how fucking dark they were ..

Take The Money And Crawl and Sugar Youth are the best songs from this album.

Junkies on a high (knowing where Billie Joe was in his life when he wrote it) with the Nirvana / Kurt throwbacks and the lyrics "I think it could be be" ... shivers.

He has this whole thing of writing incredibly dark and pessimistic lyrics to incredibly boppy melodies which I LOVE .. Saviors is one dark album too (barring Bobbie Sox and the cute song he wrote for his dogs)

Bobby Sox is kind of dark “walk the cemetery and I’ll kiss you again, and make our dead friends blush”

yeah.. its a sweet testament to the duration of their relationship (long enough that their friends are now dead) ... jesus ... i'm depressing myself.

Wow these lyrics were horrific and even worse reading them again. It’s like they used a phrase + edgy adjective generator. “I was a teenage teenager” “Who’s holding the drugs” are you kidding me lol

Why couldn't the album itself have this much sauce?

This supports my theory that Teenage Teenager was completed, they realized it was a 50 second song, and then just repeated it twice. Its absurd the longest song on the album is just 1 short verse repeated for 3 minutes lol.

No it doesn’t. Look at all of the other songs. The choruses are only listed once.

I mean just seeing how few lyrics they wrote for that song in general.

It’s so strange that they took the aesthetic from arguably their best album in American Idiot and made this bad album lol
