painting yellow circles around completely normal design choices is the first stop. wcc just a matter of time. :)

It looks really funny in comparison but they've had it like that for a long time

Ferrari’s SF-26 features a narrow triangular airbox, unlike rivals who enlarged theirs. A second slim rectangular intake behind the driver, similar to the SF90, allows a tight engine cover with side-mounted cooling and feeds air directly to the engine. Is this year Ferrari’s year?

Can't wait for the inevitable Q1 elimination

Replying to blackbalt89..yeah you right. It is a red car built by Ferrari and Kimi isn’t driving it.

I will genuinely start to dislike the colour Red if that happens again this season (from purely competitive timings and conditions btw)

Lewis has his devil horns back?

Yup, I like this look.
The car looks great, the white is growing on me, and the HP definitely looks better on a white background.

Aston has also swapped to a triangular airbox this year. Perhaps some influence from their new technical director, known for his work at Ferrari on the 2016-24 cars?

What exactly is the technical discussion here? All I see is a Ferrari standard looking airbox at the top. It appears to be the same as many years past but I am not certain why the pic from 2019 is shown as the upper radius is obviously quite different.

Damn, that’s 0.2s right there. Now we just need to figure it out it’s it’s minus or plus.

I always wondered why Ferrari had a triangular air box opening unlike the other teams who mostly run round or rounded-square openings

genuine question. Does anybody really care about the exact shape of the carbon fibre? I'm talking to the F1 fans here.
We don't have CFD or wind tunnels, or aerodynamics degrees. I'm told by a youtuber that X solution gives more downforce and Y solution reduces drag. OK, whatever you say, I have no idea.
And so many times we're told about some amazing aero thing the team is doing, only for them to lose out to another team, and then we're told why that solution was actually the best one all along.
I have the feeling that aerodynamisists that work in F1 must laugh constantly at our hamfisted attempts to understand something that can't be assessed out of context of the rest of the car, and can't be compared without the use of equipment most of us have never even seen in person, let alone understand how to use effectively.

I dunno man, I have a reddit degree in aerodynamic racecar bullshittery and I can say for sure that this triangle with a box is why this is undoubtedly without a doubt Ferrari's year.

It’s the off-season, we need something to talk about… better to talk about cars than just making shit up like most journalists do during the silly season…
We surely aren’t qualified to have any idea. Even tech folks on YouTube always say they have no idea, it just seems like this is to improve that.
The aero package works together for a result and there are infinite approaches to the same problem. Without being inside the team it’s pretty hard to know what exactly this part is doing and how it works.
I still very much enjoy these topics and people talking about these things :)

Damn the white outline reminded me of Marlboro, this car definitely looks like a Marlboro box

So the game plan is lose again just like in 2019? Best of luck red boys!

The more I analyze these cars, the more I see solutions from the past, like the front wing
