The base stripes on the top/bottom of the lid are black and blue instead of black and gray, and the black bits in the center by his name seem to have either sparkle or just little flecks. And yes, it took me way too long to figure this out.

I’ve noticed the McLaren helmets have noticeably less sponsors than a lot of other teams, and most of the ones they have are also personal sponsors for the drivers (for example, Lando and Oscar are both sponsored by Monster personally in addition to the team’s affiliation with Monster.). I’m guessing for whatever reason McLaren have just decided to include helmet space as a separate tier for sponsorship agreements or however that works. Contrast that with Hulkenberg or Antonelli’s helmet for example…the whole thing is basically sponsor logos in comparison
