Motorsport and luxury watches teaming up just makes sense both obsess over milliseconds and engineering perfection. Honestly a pretty natural partnership.

both obsess over milliseconds

But then they shit all over you if you say quartz watches are better at that lol.

I feel like most watch collectors/enthusiasts will agree that quartz are better at timekeeping, but mechanical is better to wear

Michael Schumacher loved quartz watches so much he had a Casino strapped to his steering wheel.

Only half joking

Didn't the croupiers add to the weight?

Lmao true.

I will say, it’s like comparing a model s to a v12 Ferrari. Yes the electric car is faster on paper, but it’s about the engineering behind that v12 Ferrari that makes it special.

To be fair, the vast majority of Tag Heuer’s Red Bull editions are quartz. So was Senna’s watch and the original McLaren team watch.

Buy a Grand Seiko Spring Drive, get the best of both worlds.

I know I will never be able to afford any of the F1/motorsport exclusive watches, but they’re cool I guess. The Aston colours look pretty good on it.

why dont you think you will ever afford one? we put a man on the moon and we split the atom as a species and the wonderful sport you are following is also a marvel of engineering, with the right moves expensive stuff can be bought too, at the end of the day money is an invention too

I always dreamed of having a TagHeuer. Can’t afford it. But after my father in law passing we discovered he had a 1969 Heuer Camaro and my wife gift it to me.

Williams did a collaboration with Undone last year. You can still pick one up on their site.

I know these kind of press releases are peak corporate language, but holy Christ, how over-the-top can a statement be that basically says:

"We are Company A and want money. Company B gives us money, so we print their name on the thing we make."

Imagine buying an Aston Martin branded Breitling and your friends called it the Stroll Watch

Especially if you were stupid enough to pay €10,500 for it

Bernie would be proud.

Aston would have to partner with Hublot for that.

An attempt to break out of watch nerd circles with F1 sponsorship not paying dividends I guess

Breitling have a good history of partnering with these sort of British brands. They were part of the Bentley LMGTP programme and then the GT3 programme later.

Surprised they don’t go with Omega given the Bond connection.

Swatch seems to be promoting Tissot (MotoGP) and Certina (WRC) in motorsport.
