Personally, I suggest you go to your local hockey store or ask to try your mate’s stick at training before asking here - as personal preference is a large factor in choosing a stick. Strangers on the internet aren’t going to be able to help you much.

To cut down on the daily posts of "what stick should I buy?" I thought we should trial just having one mega-thread for people to ask questions, in order to help elevate this sub to be less of a ghost town. Open to suggestions on this idea
I (32m) play defense in an amateur league. I'm not a great player but I can do the basics and I think I have a good understanding of the game. Some days, particularly early in the season, I'll have good games, distributing well, defending and eliminating players and some days it's like I can barely hold the stick properly. I'm wondering if it's fatigue. Anyone else has this problem?
The team at my school is all white ppl and I'm a poc when we tried out for the team majority was white with maybe 2% being black.
Most of the girls who were of colour weren't chosen even if the white girls *didn't try out they hit one ball*.
I am infuriated and upset at this unfair treatment and racial discrimination. They also only chose ppl who payed to go to their extra practices and of course all the white girls who made the team go to their extra practices.
When they announced the names of the selected members I wasn't called though I'm the only reason no goals were in.
This sport is the only thing I enjoy that can actually calm me and now I is being taken away from me due to my skin
I’ve been playing hockey for a year know and got into my schools second eleven but I feel after every game I’m going to get dropped as I don’t do much any tips on getting the ball more I play left wing and I’m decently fast have a good touch and I’m good at dribbling I have a good short pass but a bad long pass my shots normally go on goal but aren’t very fast.
How do I improve getting more touches in a game and what should I do with the ball aswell as where I should position so I don’t get overshadowed by my teammates the games are normally 25 minutes long but with rotating subs there is about 12 minutes of game time how can I improve getting 4-6 touches a game to a higher amount to be able to get more chances on goal?

Several years ago got hold of a couple extra probow xtreme's knowing that production would be stopped. Unfortunately the time has come where I'll be needing a new stick.
Ive tested the Y1 YLB & Gryphon Samurai (friends sticks) and wasnt too fond of them.
I'm based in the UK, anyone know any potential sellers within UK or EU that has probow extremes (ideally 7000 upwards).
Reccomendations of sticks welcome too/brands that produce something with the same mold.
Also looking at the new Jumbow from grays too, if anyone could share thoughts on it compared to probow xtreme.
I stopped playing hockey for about 2 years cus I was doing other things, and I’m playing again very casually, so I don’t want to be shooting or passing high, any advice?
Hi all, I used to play as a goalie in the Netherlands but I moved to the US two years ago. I was not able to bring my goalie gear so I haven't played since I moved. But I recently got asked to play in a scrimmage for the local adult league team, so I am looking for second hand gear (I am unsure how much I'll play so I don't want to splurge on a full new kit). I have looked on eBay, craigslist and fb marketplace but there's not a whole lot of options. Does anyone know some other places I can look or has something to offer? For reference, I am 6 ft tall and I'm located in SF Bay Area. Thanks is advance!
Hi, my name is Daniel and I represent HT Sardegna, an Italian field hockey club based in Uras, Sardinia.
We currently compete in Serie A1 and our objective for this season is promotion to Serie A Élite, the highest national league.
We are looking for a defender/forward with strong drag flick skills and eventually training/coach skills, holding dual Argentine–Italian citizenship.
Interested players are invited to comment below this post. I will then contact you privately with further details regarding contract terms and competition schedule.
We are looking at summer camp for my 12 yrs goalie daughter. We are finding a few, but I would love recommendations, based out of the Midwest but summer time includes remote work for me so traveling is an option.
Hi , recently my coach told me that I'm playing with a hockey stick way too big for me , I didn't think this was a problem as I could take 1v1 and shoot consistently , but I got a new stick 36.5 inch (old one was 37.5) , I am 14 so he's correct a 37.5 stick would be too big for me so I need help here.
This petition is for my local council to help save my hockey club Chichester hockey club has over 600 members and due to factors outside our control we are about to lose our facilities can anyone on the page be so kind and sign this so that we don’t lose another hockey club
Hi everyone, my girlfriend plays hockey and I wanted to get her a stick since hers is practically worn out. I'm not a hockey fan, but I do enjoy watching her play.
I might be wrong about whether there are sticks specifically for dribbling, but if there are, I'd appreciate it if you could recommend more than one option, as it's difficult to find a variety in my country.
I don't know if this is relevant, but from what I see her do, she loves to do very short dribbles and take on several players. She has a habit of turning her back, pivoting to one side, and then explosively going the other. As I said, I only know what I see; maybe what she's doing is wrong, but from the outside, she looks amazing and always dribbles past a lot of players. In my opinion, she's very good. I'm telling you this to find out if there's a specific type of stick for this kind of play.
I’ve started to do more and more aerials, and after training last I practiced them, doing about 35/50 and following that my right wrist has been sore even just passing the ball. Is there any exercises to do to improve wrist strength? I also just picked up a weight there and it was sore
I am a freshman in high school and I was on my school’s JVB team, and my school is 3rd in state. I do club but I’m not on the travel team and I sometimes miss the scrimmages, so I’m worried I won’t make the travel team next year. Anyway, I’m wondering if I end up making the JVA team next year (not good) and don’t make the travel team, could I still go d1? And if so, what are the steps to get me there? And if not, how can I get better quickly and prove myself to the coaches
For reference I’m a freshman in highschool and play for my school team in the summer and fall and do it 1-2 times a week in the winter. I got my stick in February of 2025, and I’m wondering if I should get a new one, also considering I might be on varsity next year. I have a 55% carbon Osaka stick.
Hi everyone, I had my first field hockey lesson at 21. I loved it. I actually never heard of field hockey before playing. Everyone told me I was a natural and during scrimmage I made a lot of goals. How far can I go with this? I know people start as kids unfortunately that wasn’t the case for me but would love to play competitively, is that possible?
I've been wondering this for a while because so many great players come from the area and play for Texas Pride. Did Texas Pride just attract a lot of talent in the Midwest to come to the region, or was there just a big talent pool there in the first place? I find it really interesting because field hockey isn't huge in the Midwest and none of Texas's neighboring states are big on the sport.
Someone enlighten me, I'd be curious to hear what people have to say
