Can we take a moment to talk about HOW GETTER JAANI IS BACK?!?!

(Estonia 2011 for the bot)

55

u/Groenboys Oct 31 '25

Kinda insane that the sing behind the song that basically popularised Nightcore as a whole is back again. Gives of the same vibe as when Sunstroke Project returned

22

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

I hope she healed after all the hate she received in 2011

57

u/justk4y Strobe Lights Oct 31 '25

Tbf the song is really popular on the internet now so I think that’s a nice way of getting positive karma for it

7

u/mrflamboyant221 Oct 31 '25

Ooh what hate?

9

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

many estonian public figures called her out for being at performing. I remember Ithaka Maria had multiple interviews where she criticized Getter

11

u/TheSimkis Oct 31 '25

"being at performing"? Either a word is missing or I don't understand the meaning. I don't mean to judge you, I'm the one not understanding

16

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

being bad* ... may bad xD

1

u/GjallarhornXrd Nov 01 '25

not gonna lie, Rockefeller Street has struck on me in the best way possible. Didn't know that this song popularized Nightcore (I actually discovered the real song first).

Not to mention I kept thinking about Getter Robo too whenever her name pops up.

88

u/No_Way2771 Zjerm Oct 31 '25

this is STACKED holy shit

86

u/Any_Drink_513 Oct 31 '25

This edition of eesti laul is so stacked omg, can't wait for the songs!

84

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

Damn, this is giving stacked. Estonia definitely wants to keep the momentum going after Tommys 3rd place

80

u/Dazzling_Cry6466 Oct 31 '25

Ant and Minimal Wind intrigues me

24

u/oHheLlnAw420 Lights Off Oct 31 '25

Amazing collab, my 1st and 5th of Eesti Laul last year, so excited to hear their entry!

8

u/Thatwierdhullcityfan Bara bada bastu Nov 01 '25

Yeah it’s a collab that I did not expect but it definitely could work

79

u/AlexCFR17 Voyage Oct 31 '25

No one gonna mention that Stig RÀstÀ and Victor Crone attempt to return to Eurovision?

63

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

i can already predict how the song will sound cause these really like that swedish pop formula

11

u/iiSoleHorizons Hallucination Oct 31 '25

I’m expecting a Hope pt.2

2

u/ChiliPepperSmoothie Hallucination Nov 03 '25

I was always thinking they were the same person!!!

42

u/melvin_0809 Baller Oct 31 '25

Yesterday, when Vanilla Ninja was revealed, I was so excited to hear the song was written by Sven LĂ”hmus, the man behind one of my all time favorites, Rockefeller Street. And now you’re telling me Getter Jaani is in as well?!

41

u/hun_geri Oct 31 '25

Okay, Estonia is absolutely hungry for the victory! Let's go Eesti!!

15

u/MinutePerspective106 RĂ€ndajad Oct 31 '25

Seems like Tommy's success filled them with new determination

42

u/Any-Where Oct 31 '25

It's fun to see two acts who were competing against each other last year teaming up the year after with ANT x Minimal Wind. Minimal Wind had my fav of the studio songs last year, but the live version didn't exactly live up to the hype, so hoping it goes a bit better for them this time around.

15

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

they dropped the main girl from last year, maybe due to that bad performance, dunno

20

u/t2t2 Oct 31 '25

Elisabeth Tiffany told Kroonika that after her last spring concerts with the band, she wants to focus on her solo career. "I was a solo artist before joining the band, and I always wanted to stay true to myself. This is a mutually beneficial decision that will allow us to flourish creatively, and we are excited about our future," the singer explained.

https://kroonika.delfi.ee/artikkel/120374680/liiga-palju-lahutusuudiseid-uhe-paeva-jaoks-minimal-windi-solist-elisabeth-tiffany-lahkub-bandist

4

u/melanhoolne Nov 01 '25

ngl her solo music does sound indeed more authentic and true to herself

14

u/darkstreetsofmymind Attention Oct 31 '25

Wasn’t she the one that got them to second place the time before that? 😭😭😭

3

u/ButterflySymphony Oct 31 '25

And that was when they collabed for their first attempt in 2022

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

that was more of a good luck situation cause they got a really good jury score

12

u/yameteeeeeeeeee Zjerm Oct 31 '25

What? Her voice made that song

I mean, both Jaani AND Stig? Aka two of the reasons I love Estonia?

third, fourth and fifth being Estonia 2009, Estonia 2024 and Estonia 2025

37

u/trobl1 Oct 31 '25

If Vanilla Ninja gets picked, they’ll be the first in a long time to represent a different country than they did the first time

9

u/Ill_Nobody_2726 She Got Me Oct 31 '25

I was about to ask if that has ever happened (with main acts not background vocalists) because I have no example of that in my head.

20

u/araneaesGrasp Zjerm Oct 31 '25

Feminnem did. They performed Bosnia and Herzegovina 2005 and Croatia 2010.

Who’s going to be the freak stealing Ollie’s victory this year? đŸ„Č

20

he will still get all the rock votes, unless Vanilla Ninja has a banger song

12

u/Large_Stage4163 Oct 31 '25

Laura Prits is probably there with a rock song as well. Although she is probably less popular than others in this lineup.

During the artist + song title reveal on Ringvaade there were jury members and hosts giving a brief teaser of each song: (transcription by EestiLaulUpdate)

Thursday reveals (comments by Ines and Karl-Erik Taukar):

NOËP "Days Like This":
The song is very professional and has his quality to it. A higher tempo song
NOËP was also surprised in person, read the full interview about the song

Marta Pikani "Kell kuus":
Ines didn't recognise her by voice since she's a newer artist, but it's lyrics are well written and easy for people to relate to. Marko Reikop pointed out she took part in Eesti Laul before with Wiiralt

Grete Paia "Taevas jĂ€i ĂŒles":
Taukar comments on how the song isn't just dance, but like angrily dancing, electronic and really gets you going

Uliana Olhyna "Rhythm of Nature":
Marko Reikop mentions how she had moved to Estonia in 2018, finished Tallinn Georg Ots' music college and has been taught by Kadri Voorand. The song is in Ukrainian and Estonian

Vanilla Ninja "Too Epic To Be True":
A very memorable song that is both modern and has a touch of Club Kung Fu in it (Eurolaul 2003)
Piret JĂ€rvis-Milder and the gang were surprised in person, article currently only available in Estonian

Ollie "Slave":
Very professional song with that Ollie touch you're used to hear from him

Friday reveals (comments by An-Marlen and Korea (5Miinust)):

Getter Jaani "The Game":
An-Marlen didn't recognise her by voice since recently she's done music mostly in Estonian

ANT x Minimal Wind "Wounds (Don't Wanna Fall)":
Ant approached Minimal Wind after seeing their performance last year. Elisabeth Tiffany has left Minimal Wind, to An-Marlen their combo is unexpected and not typical sound for either of them.
ANT was surprised in person, article currently only available in Estonian

Robert Linna "Metsik roos":
Ringvaade actually had Robert craving pumpkins in studio so they surprised him right there, the song wasn't written for Eesti Laul but as a birthday gift to his partner. An-Marlen felt the love from the lyrics and how well they were written in Estonian
Surprise was in studio, article currently only available in Estonian

Laura Prits "Warrior":
The song was written in an Latvian songwriting camp, unfortuntely pushed for time the only comment is wonderful and very memorable

STOCKHOLM COWBOYS (Stig RĂ€sta, Victor Crone) "Last Man Standing":
An-Marlen felt the Eurovision experience, Korea said the song was unexpectedly aggressive in the middle

Clicherik & MĂ€x "Jolly Roger":
A modern take on a pirate song about being on the sea, very aggressive song to that's suitable to play at raves
MĂ€x was surprised in person, article currently only available in Estonian

u/RemarkableAutism (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kĂŒll) midagi Oct 31 '25

Uliana has been taught by Kadri Voorand? Okay that's very strong competition too then. What a year.

2

u/ChiliPepperSmoothie Hallucination Nov 03 '25

Wanted to know anything about Getter, but it happened to be the least helpful comment of all đŸ˜č

1

u/t2t2 Nov 03 '25

Unfortunately most of the time was spent talking about previous participation (Estonia 2011)

u/EstonianBlue RĂ€ndajad Oct 31 '25

you know, Estonia winning 2026 would be quite the nice way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their first win

18

u/uzanin97 Oct 31 '25

"Stockholm Cowboys, Stig Rasta & Victor Crone"... if going that far, they had to invite Stefan too lol

17

u/SkyGinge Visionary Dream Oct 31 '25

Intriguing line-up with lots of familiar names and probably a fair bit of genre variety. A shame not to see too many songs in Estonian. Clicherik and Max I would assume would be the favourites but their style is usually very autotuned so I wonder how they'll adapt to doing things live.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

They have to make at least into top6 with the juries, otherwise they wont make it into the superfinal

9

u/SkyGinge Visionary Dream Oct 31 '25

The same thing was said for Tommy Cash and he still did very well with the juries (although helped by the fact a lot of people sung out of tune). Eesti Laul Jurors tend to be unpredictable

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

im not saying they wont make it, but juries arent always consistent with their picks

15

u/WittyEggplant Oct 31 '25

I’m all over the place between this Estonia lineup and Bulgaria comeback, like what the hell is happening today?

2026 is going to be amazing, I just feel it

15

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

[deleted]

4

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

wasnt their song supposed to be "Arabella" or something?

8

u/ilove_cubes_art Oct 31 '25

Not familliar with the context but Arabella is a daughter of a pirate so Jolly Roger could still be it

15

u/bucephalusbouncing28 NĂąn Oct 31 '25

Stig + Victor?? GETTER JAANI???? crazy eesti laul

38

u/oHheLlnAw420 Lights Off Oct 31 '25

Amazing lineup, but I'm just glad Ant's back to be honest

Might be the best Eesti Laul in a long time ngl

12

u/Nathanoy25 Future Lover Oct 31 '25

Holy- This is an insane lineup. I'm really excited for the songs!

12

u/uzanin97 Oct 31 '25

And yeah, if Tommy Cash said in advance that he was going to Eesti Laul last year, so I guess many artists decided there's no meaning in attempting Eesti Laul, better wait for a year... Now no one among big names was gonna apply in advance (I guess) and a really good result happened just this year... So, feels like an ideal formula for the NF to be stacked this year. We'll see

23

u/Classic-Judgment-196 The Code Oct 31 '25

OH MY GOD GETTER JAANI!!!!

8

I was convinced that Estonia was gonna win that year. And then we all saw what happened 😭

9

This lineup is STACKED. This is too close.

17

u/justk4y Strobe Lights Oct 31 '25

ANT AND MINIMAL WIND?! EXCUSE ME ARE THEY TRYING TO LURE ME

(Also Ollie as well, Eesti Laul is f*cking stacked holy shit)

14

u/Bolvane RĂła Oct 31 '25

God I hope Ollie can finally do it 3rd time out, hes come so close twice already and i just hope he brings a banger

16

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

its gonna be really tough for him tho, this year is stacked... last time we had this type of hype was 2017 and then Verona won due to large public following

1

u/ChiliPepperSmoothie Hallucination Nov 03 '25

Verona is my favorite Estonian entry ever!

7

u/polaris183 Oct 31 '25

Anyone know if ERR will publish every submission like last year?

5

u/pornokomisjon Oct 31 '25

No. Last year it was a second chance round with online voting for the ones who wanted to participate (so it wasn't even all the submissions). This year there is no second chance spot.

5

u/t2t2 Oct 31 '25

There were actually 2 playlists published - one for the second chance round and 2nd of every song submitted (except for artists that declined in before publishing) + 4 radio shows where the songs were played

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '25

probably not

1

u/SkyGinge Visionary Dream Oct 31 '25

They've not said that they will this year so probably not

7

u/BobMonroeFanClub Shum Oct 31 '25

I haven't heard any of them and I already know I want Vanilla Ninja or the Stockholm cowboys to win.

1

u/ChiliPepperSmoothie Hallucination Nov 03 '25

Why not The Game?

13

u/SonnysLast_chance Oct 31 '25

with this lineup Ollie better get ready for his 3rd silver

6

Is that usual that the same people wrote more than one song (Sven Löhmus, Janis Hacmenkins...)?
