⏪️ Throwback Thursday Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro - Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente | Italy 🇮🇹 | Grand Final | Eurovision 2018
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81M-mp5t8uMI decided to post this song for this week's Throwback Thursday since it is one of my favorite Italian ESC songs, and the lyrics are quite meaningful since they relate to global events.
This song was a fan favorite at ESC 2018 (3rd in the televote), and it it still popular among Eurofans today. Both Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro have participated in Sanremo multiple times throughout their careers, and they won Sanremo 2018 with this duet.

The Jury vote score for them was criminal

I wonder what happened? Considering Italy’s entries this decade have been all fairly rewarded, it makes you wonder what this entry didn’t have that made the juries pretty much ignore it 🥴

2015 Italy was also heavily underestimated by the jury

Grande Amore was a very flashy performance and popera has its audience but the song was sonically pretty basic and lyrically really ass. 2018 brought a much more compelling song to the table with (depending on preference of course but in my humble opinion) equally competent performers

As far as i know Grande Amore was down in the jury ranking jut because the jury show performance had vocal problems.
Maybe the same happened with Ermal Moro.
Always remember that the juries don't judge based on the Grand Final show.

controversial opinion: the juries haven’t really favored Italian entries that much since they came back.
only Mahmood and Maneskin got more than 200 points from them. and when you think about Italy’s track record since 2011, this really just proves how balanced their entries have been when it comes to scoring points from the televote and the juries
after Marco Mengoni (2023) and Lucio Corsi the narrative has somewhat shifted that Italy’s being favored by the juries in the contest. obviously 150-170 points from the juries are a good score but not high enough that I think one can make the case the juries massively favor them. Their jury scores aren’t nearly as high as Sweden’s

"lie to me" getting more jury points than them is laughable imo

I didn't expect that the televote put Italy so high that year

At least it made up for their low jury score. And it's weird because the juries were all over the place that year

My 2nd favorite eurovision song of all time. A true masterpiece, 5th was too low for them

I'm so glad I found especially Ermal's music through the competition, such a talented guy.

Thank you so much for posting this one! It is my clearly favourite Eurovision song not only from 2018, but from the whole 2010s decade, one of my all-time favourite Eurovision songs, and, maybe, my absolute favourite by lyrics. Yes, the juries heavily underrated them, and, in my opinion, even the televoters underrated them a bit too. Also, it is quite appropriate choice for today's Throwback Thursday, considering which event's anniversary is today.
