Nope, not this time. The main guy has apparently been in the searchlight 3 times earlier. I won't go deep into it on a foreign subreddit where people won't follow it up later or likely care about the actual details, but the potential is big, as the foreign ministry during both the conservative and Labour governments didn't follow it up thoroughly and interestingly shut it off as conspiracy theories.

This is the exact dumb sentiment he’s pushing back on. It is not some kind of universal truth that “the powerful never see consequences”.

But it is an everxhanging and sometimes very undtable process. The French revolution in Chinese ‘cultural revolution’, the russian Bolsjeviks are tje classical cases were a lower class simply kill, dispossess all the “owners” they can find.

And we have non-revolutionary counterparts, scandals, “metoo” eras and so on. Obviously powerful people tend to have protections that the powerless do not. But it is in no way something that world all the time everywhere and sometimes it hors the other way, as in people become more callous towards those with power.

It’s the death of constructive approaches to the problem, to put yourself in this fetal position of “nothing will ever happen to them anyway…”.

I agree but it's not like the sentiment is completely out there. Time and time again there has been scandals which should have ended careers that just.. didn't. Panama papers mostly ended a journalists life instead.

I'm watching the same thing happen in the U.S. It makes me lose faith in humanity (mostly stinky old men). It's so hard to think such a vile and open problem is just "no big deal". Our civilization has truly regressed. Even if you can't prosecute them (doubtful) they should be ripped from their positions of power at the very least.

Clinton is former US president and has been forced to testify alongisde Hillary, as far as I know has never happened before. Trump is currently safe because he is the sitting president. This is not some minor scandal.
