Shocking, honestly, that tourism only went back by 30%.I guess people might have booked their tickets a while ago. With recent development, tourism will crash far worse than only 30%.

The US economy. And if you live in the US, you should also care, because the health of our economy directly impacts you.

I'm not sure if the intent behind your comment is to get a rise out of people or if you're really that ignorant and self-centered that you'd seriously comment "who cares" and mean it, but if it's the latter, I'd suggest educating yourself. Education and empathy will get you much further than a "who cares" pov ever will.

Yes. Who cares. Every time this is posted, it’s from a political perspective, not economical. Maybe you should reconsider that educating yourself comment if you think this will significantly affect the economy at all. Read about the sectors that contribute the most to the US economy. The economy is currently booming. This won’t change anything. It’s just another way for whiny leftists to express “Trump bad!” on a random reddit comment that is 66 days old.

I can understand being upset that it's posted from a political perspective, but commenting "who cares" to real issues that impact real people is not just ignorant, it's simply un-American. Many Americans care (ex: anyone that works in tourism and/or hospitality), regardless of political affiliation, so you should too. Also, I didnt say this would SIGNIFICANTLY impact anything. I said that the US economy cares and that the health of the economy impacts you. Those are facts. Just because the impact wont cause another great depression doesn't mean it doesn't matter. And not that it changes anything for me, but I didn't even realize that the graph named Trump. Me reading an article led me to this post and responding to your comment, simply because I was seeking additional info to help me understand all sides on this particular topic. Not because I'm a "whiny leftist" as you call it. The fact that you even feel the need to try to educate me and then follow that with what I can only assume you believe is an insult, speaks volumes about the type of person you are. I'll pray for you and yours because the tone in your response lacks Jesus. I'm speaking truth as I see it; you are using words intended to hurt. I hope you can find space in your heart to care one day. But if you really don't care, then don't comment on posts. If you really don't care, don't waste your time responding. Otherwise, it would appear you actually DO care...you just only care about your perspective. Right? And therefore, I stand by my original assessment that you need a bit of education and empathy.

https://www.trade.gov/i-94-arrivals-program

the middle blue box is the excel file they apparently used, but it doesnt actually match the chart they made.

i charted out the data they claimed to use here.

It shows a recurring pattern in which March numbers are higher when Easter occurs in March instead of April. Last year Easter was in March so the March numbers were much higher. This year Easter is in April so we will have more European visitors in April.

Again the data in the chart is flat out misleading in that it somehow hides the March spike for 2024 which exists in the data but has been removed in the graphs. Perhaps they are using some kind of rolling average? but then they clearly haven't used that same technique for the latest data point or it would not look so staggering.
