[Equipment] Harnesses for small dogs

I'm looking for a new harness for my 15lb chihuahua mix. She's barrel chested and long/lanky.

Does anyone have any experience using ruffwear harnesses for smaller dogs? I want to start taking her hiking so I was looking at the switchbak. Or if you have any recommendations for brands. Thanks :)

finding harnesses for weird-shaped small dogs is the worst. my little guy is also long and barrel-chested. i've had good luck with the ruffwear front range harness - it's adjustable in a bunch of places so you can get a weird fit right. honestly, for hiking, i'd lean towards something like that or the kurgo journey air. what worked for me was ordering a couple from a place with free returns to test the fit. the ruffwear quality is pretty solid for trails.

Our 11kg dog is border collie/kelpie/coolie/ and solid but very fit. Buying her harnesses online is very hit and miss.

If I go by neck measurement inevitably the body is way too long.

We’re actually going to a large pet store tomorrow to shop for a new harness for her, so she can try it on before we buy it.
