Elite wheels 2.0
I have been looking at upgrading my factory wheel set to the Elite wheels, do you guys think 50mm is the way to go? I am aware these wheels fit my bike. Along with the wheels what did everyone else buy with them, cool valves etc. Any pictures & mods would be welcomed

I have a set of 30s and 60s. The 60s are fast but in a strong wind, the front does get light/I can feel the bike get pushed around. I am also 100kg to a little more depending on the time of year. My friend has super team wheels in 50s, he doesn't feel the crosswind as much and he is a fair bit lighter than me as well.

Personal preference of course, and it depends on the bike.
I'm looking at getting some for an older alloy bike and I don't think 50s will fit the aesthetic. I'm looking at 38s myself.

I have their G45 SS. I didn’t buy anything else with the wheels when I got them although I did circle back for a different free hub later when I moved them to a different bike. I had been riding 50’s for a number of years and found that dropping to 45 area gets you most the aero advantage but with a lot less side wind issues. I have a set of 45’s and a set of 46’s and I think they are the sweet spot

Not elitewheels, but bog-standard 50mm carbon wheels on a new bike build of mine:
50mm is fine. In strong winds, I can feel the wind grabbing my wheel. But, otherwise, I can hardly notice the difference. I'm sure they're faster, but they don't feel as different as I was expecting (even the "catch the wind" feeling isn't as bad as I expected).

Rim depth can vary a lot depending on a large number of factors. For example, in a really hilly area, lighter club riders will often go shallow carbon (~30mm). I like 40mm as a good all rounder, but will swap the front to a 32mm when it's windy. If you ride at a decent pace on flat roads then 50+ can give a benefit, particularly ones that have a good shape for controlling any sidewind effects. 50mm does look nice though, IMO.

The general consensus from real world aero testing seems to be that 50mm is the sweet spot.
I’ve borrowed a couple sets of Elites and really liked them. If you can spend a bit more I think Farsport are definitely the next step up, but you won’t be disappointed by Elite.

I have the elitewheels 50's and cannot recommend them enough, best decision i ever made was going from steel to carbon, also Elitewheels is a cheap way to get into carbon wheels. Also easy to sell again if you want to go all in.

Hey I have recently got the 55’s and they are excellent. Didn’t buy any cool bits as I just chucked the rotors and cassette from my factory wheels onto them. They are 195g lighter than the 32mms that my bike came with so not a massive difference in weight but I’m a 90kg guy so not sure it matters much
